Description
A girl of sixteen hailing from Japan, Fuuka Sasaki is a young girl with an appearance that coincides with this fact. Her hair, black as night, falls to just above her elbow. It is braided on either side where it parts in the back. Her bangs fall neatly over her forehead, flowing to the left while they frame her face on either side, allowing for her ears to show through. Her eyes, an olive green, do not show any sort of humanity in them. They are oddly reptilian, more of a cross between a human's pair of eyes and a lizards, which gives the girl an extremely eerie stare. That said, there is a small mole underneath her left eye. Her body structure is rather petite, as she only reaches an approximate height of 5'4". That said, she is thin and nimble, as she exercises often in an effort to stay in shape. The most shocking aspect of her appearance is not her eyes, interestingly, but rather the strange, large, reptilian tail she boasts. It erupts from the base of her spine, and thins as it gets closer to the end, bulging out a little again at the tip. The tail is the same colour as her skin, and is a good length of her body in size.
A student of one of the schools in District 5, Fuuka is required to wear her school uniform on any mandatory class days so that she's easily identifiable. The ensemble consists of a pleated, navy blue skirt (that barely contains her tail) with a jacket of a matching colour. The jacket has a rather large pocked on either side of the front, with gold buttons on both the front and the sleeves. She wears a white blouse underneath the jacket, and there's always a red ribbon dangling from the front. Her uniform also requires her to wear black knee socks along with a black pair of simple dress-shoes.
Personality
An introvert by nature, Fuuka is rarely seen communicating with her fellow students unless completely necessary. It's not because she's shy, she just... doesn't want to bother with people. She walks home alone, she eats out alone, she even tries to do group assignments by herself. Though this behaviour is easily explained by bullying she receives in regards to her abnormal appearance, it's still an issue she needs to work on fixing. She really isn't the type of girl you want to piss off, since she's been known to pull childish, yet effective pranks (utilizing her handy power) on anyone that dares tease her these days. This isn't all to say she isn't a nice person deep down, but she's not about to let just any sucker see that side of her. While she acts otherwise, she has yet to accept the strange mutations her body underwent that had her sent to the city. Her perfectly normal, peaceful life was ruined, and now she was some sort of freak. She resents her abilities as a result.
As far as hobbies go, she's actually got some pretty shocking ones. She LOVES playing sports - although often plays by herself as opposed to being in a team, and she's makes a point to go for a jog before school every morning in order to stay in shape. Being an academic of sorts, she never hands in her homework incomplete, and has a knack for writing poetry. She's proficient in both English and Japanese, as her dad is Canadian. She has an irrational fear of heights, as well, going to such extremes as walking in the center of staircases to lower the chance of being knocked off. It was one hell of a feat to get her on the airplane to Advent City from Japan. She's actually very easily startled, and doing so to her could likely almost move her to tears depending on the situation. Though, when she gets scared, she also has the tendency to get violent towards well... whatever scared her. It's best not to tease her this way.
Equipment
The lizard eyes and tail Fuuka possesses aren't just for show. Her eyes are actually a variation of the eyes used by reptiles that thrive at night, allowing her to see through the darkness. Her tail is extremely flexible, and she has no issues using it to pick up things, nor throw them. Like most reptiles, if her tail were to be ripped off, she has the ability to regrow it. The most interesting of her abilities is her chameleon-like ability to blend in with her surroundings. While it's similar to what a chameleon can do, it's closer to actual invisibility than it is her body changing colours to match whatever is behind her. She emits a potent halogen into the air from her mouth when she is afraid. This halogen travels quickly and can cover a wide area in a moment of seconds, and it attacks the brains of anyone nearby, making them incapable of seeing her. Luckily, the halogen has no particular scent to it, so it most cases it is effective.
She does carry a knife for self defense, which comes in handy when used in cooperation with her abilities.
History
Fuuka was born in the Shibuya ward of Tokyo, and was raised there up until she was sent to Advent City at age fifteen. She lived a normal life, going to school and mooching off her parents like a good child should. She had a lot of friends, and was actually very sociable up until the point where things went horribly wrong. It started a few days after she turned fourteen, with a little nub at the base of her spine. It was abnormal, and the doctor had no clue what it was. It just kept growing, and growing, until her classmates began to notice it poking out from underneath her skirt. This was when the teasing began, and the girl's social life was smashed into irreparable pieces. Neglected, harassed, and things didn't improve as the bump grew longer and longer. She eventually stopped going to school, and kept herself locked in her room as the tail grew and grew. One day, a loud thud could be heard from Fuuka's room, and their parents rushed in to see what happened. To their shock, there was nobody there. Yet, Fuuka was on the very ground before them, clenching her body in pain. Her eyes had started burning suddenly, and then her whole body had started burning. She was scared, and she had begun emitting the halogen she wasn't yet aware she had so that her parents could not see her.
She wanted to die on that day.
Several months later, she was more or less forced to move to Advent City by her parents, who were constantly under pressure by the government to get rid of her. The more time passed, the more she was aware. People were scared of her. But not just her, there were others out there. She didn't feel so alone, but at the same time she flt lonelier than she ever had in her life. When she was brought to Advent City, her parents gave her enough money to live in the 5th district, and she was enrolled in the District 5 Girl's Academy. She was given her own dorm room and everything, so she wasn't obligated to socialize with anyone. It worked for her.
She is currently rank #89, as her powers as well controlled, and also effective.
