Setting

Sector 2, the second most disgusting sector of the city, is actually a lot better off than the lower sector. For one, the residents here actually all have homes, albeit ones that are poorly constructed with the flimsiest of supplies. The homes are all shared, however, with up to twelve people living in one home. While minimal, it does possess a trash collection system that keeps the streets at least relatively clean.

In Sector 2, you start to see an inkling of an economy. Some business choose to set up stalls in the area for selling aged produce and supplies for discounted prices. The streets in this area are paved, and the buses serve the outskirts of the area for anyone who wants to come and go. Despite their hardships, the majority of the folk here bear no ill-will towards those in the higher sectors like those in Sector 1.

Icarus's eyes opened as he woke up, a full 5 seconds before his alarm clock started playing "Hello Sunshine". It was 7:10 am, he had an hour to get ready and 15 minutes of travel time allotted so he'd arrive five minutes before class. He slid out of bed and walked the ten feet to his kitchen area in his small dorm room. It was just one open room aside from the corner for the bathroom.

He grabbed one of his two bowls from the drying rack, a spoon, raisin bran from the cabinet and quart of milk from the fridge. After placing the items of his dining table that doubled as his deck, he flipped open the small laptop and open his email app while pouring the raisin bran in his bowl. It was mostly spam, which he deleted, but one was from his sponsor. Icarus took a spoonful of the brown flakes as he opened the message, he then proceeded to choke on his spoon.

Stone-soul was giving him one week to raise his rank or lose his sponsorship. Icarus had no desire to battle so he closed his laptop and finished his breakfast. After putting his bowl in the sink and taking a quick shower, he put on uniform, gray pants and a button up shirt. Grabbing his messenger bag from the hook next to the door along with his jacket and scarf, he decided to get some fresh air before class.

Icarus locked his door and pocketed his keys. Turning around he leaped over the railing to the landing in front of his dorm room. Blue light forming hexagon panels as he walked, two stories off the ground, taller than most buildings in sector 2 aside from the school and other government run places. Sighing at the choices before him, he pulled his goggles out from the pocket in his jacket and put them on, he needed a rush to clear his head.

Icarus began to climb higher and higher until he reached roughly 4 stories and spread out his arms leaning forward. The blue light around his feet disappeared and he fell, the wind blowing his hair back, emptying his mind of his worries for the moment.
As he grew closer to the ground his feet began to glow again, ten feet from the ground the panels formed his head was two feet from the ground before he stopped.

He was floating upside down just within the sector 2 school grounds, he abrupt appearance scared a few nearby student who hadn't seen him do this before. One person sighed, it was a fellow class mate. Jericho, the class president, stared at Icarus until he flipped and landed on the school grounds. "Sorry..." Icarus bowed and headed off to his class room. Taking his seat in the back corner next to the window, he hooked his bag to his desk and slid his goggles down around his neck. Thoughts of battles and ranking slowing coming back as half listened to the teacher, he just wanted it to be over so he could get to the Kendo club that was after school.
