FLASHBACK

Joshua

"Good morning, Father," I said cheerily as I entered the Alpha, my father's, office. He was looking out the window at something, I went to go look out with him and saw that he was watching Stacey or Susan or whatever leave. She saw us watching and waved wildly, I waved back with a smile and she squealed before dashing off to her car.

"Sit," my father told me in his Alpha voice.

I shrugged my shoulders and went to the chair opposite his desk, sitting down comfortably.

"What's up?"

"That's the fourth girl you've brought home in the last week, and a human no less!"

"It's not like I told her anything. It was just sex."

"Listen," my father leaned on the desk and put his clasped hands in front of him," I want this to stop," I started to speak up but he silenced me," I want to retire. I want to take your mother on a vacation somewhere nice. I want grandchildren to run around. making a bunch of noise. I want to sleep well at night for the first time in 30 years knowing that everything it taken care of. But, most importantly, I want you to find a mate and settle down."

I laughed at his last request. I would love to become alpha, but finding a mate isn't as simple as joining Match and hoping for the best.

"How am I supposed to find a mate, Father, will we put up a billboard that says 'Mate Wanted' and go through the candidates for the new Luna to be?"

"No," he glared at me, obviously not amused," We will hold 7 balls. In each ball we will invite all of the unmated wolves within a hundred miles. You will meet with one of them and your mate will be there."

"And if I refuse?"

"Then I will pass on the responsibility to your sister and we both know that she will not be able to produce an heir. The Golden Phoenix pack will die out."

I sat there taking it all in. I know that my father isn't bluffing, he doesn't bluff. I have to find a mate before my father will allow me to become Alpha.

"What is I don't find my mate at the balls?"

He thought for a moment," Then you will have tried and I will pass on the title of pack Alpha to you," he raised a finger at me," But I expect to see some serious trying. No screwing around. This is serious."

I smiled at my father and put out my hand.

"You have a deal, Father."

Ruby:

"Ayo Jishwa" I called out to my friend Josh, as he came out of his fathers office, he looked at me and smiled, walking over.

"What did your father want now?" I asked, Josh was only in Alpha's office when the man had a idea for a "better pack" but well, I agree,,, I just don't really fit in, I'm witch, so I kinda have my own pack, me and pizza.

Joshua

I chuckled at Ruby's question and rubbed my face with my hand, peeking between the fingers at my friend.

"He want's my to find a mate."

Ruby:

I burst out laughing, he looked at me with annoyed eyes.

"I literally saw one of your "chicks" leave like 10 minutes ago, and you want your mate?" I laughed, good luck.

Joshua

I narrowed my eyes at the laughing Ruby.

"Ha, ha, ha, very funny, Little Witch. It wasn't my idea," I growled and sighed," It was my dad's. He thinks I need a mate to be a good Alpha."

Ruby:

"You're dad is right, before you find her you might wanna test for STD's" I laughed as he got more annoyed and growled, hitting my arm.

"Ow!" I yelled punching him back, leading to a play fight.

Margot

I was walking through the halls with one of the leaders from a nearby Pack when we came across a peculiar sight.

My brother pinning Ruby in the middle of the hallway.

"Give up," he told her.

"Brother," he looked up at me with a smile that faded soon after, all the blood drained from his face when he noticed who I was with.

Ruby:

"Give up!" he told me, pinning me higher up the wall.

"Never" I say, I was about to kick him in the balls when a familiar voice said "Brother." Josh immediately dropped me, nooo! I was about to kick him the balls and have a laugh. Beside his sister stood a tall man, an alpha, I feel his power raging of him, Josh's expression changed quickly.

Joshua

"Alpha Cade," I said, kneeling. This was one of the most powerful Alpha's in the Western hemisphere. The amount of power radiating off of him is almost unbelievable.

"Stand, Joshua."

I did as I was told.

"Care to explain what you were doing with this," he looked at Ruby with disgust clearly written on his face," Witch."

I growled lowly at the way he insulted my friend.

Ruby:

Alpha or not, he cannot insult me. My species are becoming rare and I will not let me like him think of me as a disgusting witch.

"Hide the disgust or I will personally slap it out off you" I said lowly, I wasn't going to kneel or bow, I'm no werewolf to do so, I'm a proud witch, and anyone who didn't respect my species are on my "list" of hates people. The alpha growled at me and I just stared at him with a bitch face. He raised his hand to slap me but I was faster. I closed my eyes and turned my hand into a fist, I opened my eyes and though of the alpha having a migraine, and he did, I was doing a Maddox's Compulsion Spell along with a Werewolf Weakening Spell, wanted to hit me?
"Onon de es Sinj un Ctas,on Gu ol De." I repeated until the alpha fell to the ground. I stopped and looked him with a disgusting look, turning around and walking out the door to go home.

Joshua

"Oh, my," Margot said as she tried to help Alpha Cade, who was kneeled over in pain. I, on the other hand, was trying my best to not bite his head off for insulting Ruby like that.

"Josh, do something!"

"Oh, trust me, I will," I said menacingly as I walked over to Alpha Cade slowly, only to be stopped by a hand on my shoulder. It was my father.

"Go find Ruby and keep her from doing something she'll regret."

I gave an agitated look then nodded and left the house.

"Little Witch," I said in a sing-song voice when I saw her. I approached her and smiled slightly," Whatcha doin'?"

Ruby:

I looked up at him annoyed, walking to my house.

"Planning an Alpha's funeral." I said coldly, that man was on our territory, insulting me, invited or not, he's not welcomed, at least by me. Josh chuckled at my comment but I just rolled my eyes, everything is fun and games for him.

"I'll be the one laughing when you're whipped because of a girl" I said, stopping to pat his shoulder but continued my walk.

Joshua

I smirked at her smart ass comment before wagging a finger at her like a teacher in a lesson.

"Oh, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, you and I both know that no girl can ever whip me. Mate or no mate," I smiled at her and whisper-yelled," And I have no intention of getting a mate."

Ruby:

"We'll see about that I mumbled, opening the door to my little house and opened the door walking in, Josh right behind me.

"Come in" I say and he looks at me suspiciously but walks in, only to be stuck between the forest and the house, thanks to a former spell.

"Oops I said closing the door in his face, hearing him growl, boy got some anger issues.

Joshua

"Oops."

I growled at Ruby as she shut the door in my face, leaving me fuming on the doorsteps of her house.

Despite common belief, I don't like to be angry. That doesn't mean that I don't ravish in the expulsion of my anger.

I smiled and started to run back into her yard, looking for a place to hide 'it'. The little witch won't know what hit her.

I walked in and immediately fell on the couch, I rested for a minute or so until something felt wrong.

"JOSH WHAT DID YOU TAKE?" I yell knowing he could hear me with "wolfy" hearing. I stood and went to the balcony, standing outside it was Josh.

"What'd you do?" I asked, but he looked at me with a smirk and kept quiet.

"Sp you wanna play dirty?" I ask, he didn't respond. Okay. I put out a hand to his head and started turning it into a fist, him yelling out in pain and falling to the ground.

"What'd you do?" I ask with an innocent smile.

Joshua

"You wouldn't hit a guy with glasses would ya," I asked with a laugh. She gave me an annoyed look as if to say 'you don't wear glasses'.

"I didn't take anything, Little Witch," I grimaced as the pain got worse," I just misplaced it for you."

Ruby:

"Joshua Murphy you have 2 mounts before I perform a real migraine spell." I warned him. I was tired, all I wanted was to go and watch some series or something.

Joshua

"Ruby Watson, you have thirty seconds to start being pleasant to your future alpha," I replied with a smirk," And to thank me for what I did."

Ruby:

"You wish." I said. "You haven't done anything for me!" I added. He stood there stubbornly. Okay, I asked you nice once.

"Okay you asked for it" I said and pointed my fist at him, doing a migraine spell. I'm pretty sure his head was ready to explode with pain but oh well, he didn't listen to me.

"Tell.Me" I demanded.
