The Goddess of Flora
A gentle creature, Nymph is very much like the plants she creates--sweet like the fruits she lovingly shaped with her two hands, strong like the ancient oaks of forests long gone, carefree like the wildflowers that dance in the meadows, and, at times, menacing like the toxic plants that can kill even the most powerful animals. She rarely speaks unless she is spoken to, and though she prefers peace, she believes that it is better to agree to disagree rather than to submit to something she believes is wrong. She has a tendency to be indecisive, especially with important matters, and thus, she is still neutral regarding the fate of mankind. She is easily swayed, however, so chances are she will have an opinion before much longer.
Nymph tends to be easy to get along with, as once she gets to know you, she becomes a very cheerful, happy soul, albeit a bit chatty, as she is rumored to be able to hold conversations with rocks for hours on end if she could keep coming up with things to talk about. She also is very forgetful, so unless you write something down for her, she will forget it.
Nymph always keeps a thick picture book on botany with her, as well as a sketchbook and pencils should she ever see something she wants to draw or needs to write down. She also has a single flower on her at all times, tucked behind her right ear. Nymph must always have a flower with her or she will become very uneasy and complain of feeling light-headed or ill.
Nymph was a frequent visitor to the earth during the times of ancient Greece and the Roman Empire. She often took the shape of a tree or a woman with leaves for hair and bark for skin, a "nymph," as she was soon called. Up until then, she had been a bit bitter toward the other gods after they destroyed the first world, as she had to make all of the plants, one by one, a second time. However, by the time she was finished, she found herself in love with the world she had created. She would often take the form of an animal (with the permission of the god of Fauna, of course) and wander the forests and the fields and the orchards that humans filled with the most delectable fruits. Being the goddess of Flora, Nymph had the power to make plants grow up around her at will, and she would do this to the surprise of many people--she would raise up whole forests while a village slept. She would make the crops speed up in their growth so long as the humans acknowledged that there was someone doing all of this. For a long time, humans made sacrifices to her so they would have bountiful harvests. So long as they made their sacrifices, Nymph would make the plants grow and the people happy. However, if the humans ever forgot to make a sacrifice to her, she withheld the crops and brought famine to the villages. The people would then begin to cry out and make more sacrifices then before, and an appeased Nymph would make the plants grow again.
However, as time went on, humans began to pay less and less attention to her. They began to violate nature and tear it up, ripping out forests to give themselves luxurious places to live. This upset Nymph, as she watched the plants she created being torn up and destroyed to the whims of humankind. She wished so desperately to punish man for what they did, but she knew she could never harm humankind without the permission of the other gods. So Nymph sat by, biding her time until the humans made a big enough blunder.
And that chance finally came when the humans began to kill each other for no apparent reason in this modern age. Nymph was overjoyed to finally get her chance, but by that time, she had forgotten what she had been so angry about. She began to wonder why she wanted humans to disappear from the face of the earth. So, still trying to remember, she made her way to the coffee shop, thinking that soon, she would be reminded.
