Name: Rei Gavin

Age: Physically about 19. Truly, Rei is 127. He is barely older than Serefina, considering he's only 24 years her senior.

Kingdom: The 'Kebakaran Kingdom - The Kingdom of Fire

Power:

Rei has the usual fire-magic abilities. He is far along in his study of spells and is an expert at manipulating fire. One of his specialties is metal-working, using the intense fire to mold iron, steel, and other metals into intricate shapes.

Talents:

Rei (as mentioned above) is a metal-worker. He hates the term "blacksmith" for he thinks it sounds too crass. Besides, he doesn't usually make armor or weaponry. Rei is more of a jeweler. He fashions many expensive metals into rings, fine chains, and other beautiful adornments using his magic. His choice of hobby is frowned upon by his father and the other male members of his family. He has just recently moved on to clock-making, taking interest in the finely tuned inner workings of time pieces.

Rei is also a guitarist. The instrument was a gift given to him by his mother. He loves the acoustic instrument, and has stuck with it for over 100 years. He doesn't seek to master the guitar and then move on... No, Rei just likes the soothing sounds of the notes hanging in the air.

Rei has a great memory. He loves puzzles and riddles. Often, he'll write his own. Others see it as pointless, but Rei enjoys them none-the-less.

History:

Rei is the youngest brother out of all his siblings. In fact, only Serefina is younger than he is. Rei and Serefina have 3 older brothers - Brenton, Aiden, and Dace. They were all strong, athletic boys. Rei on the other hand, would rather sit inside and play his music. He was teased for a long time, the boys making meaningless jokes at his devotion to his instrument. But when Rei picked up his passion of metal-working, Rei's brothers, his father, and uncle grew worried. Rei is a prince. As such, he should be a strong leader - ready to beat down the threats of the other kingdoms with deadly flame. But the boy used his fire for crafting dainty objects for women! Over the years, Rei was increasingly ignored by his family. They wished not to encourage his "unfit" hobbies. But Rei kept doing what made him happy. When Serefina came along, she took the focus off Rei even more. She was a stunning little girl, and commanded the attention of everyone in the palace. She was bit of a hot-head as well - the apple of her father's eye. Rei was almost completely pushed out of the picture. Except for the fact that Serefina loved him the most. She liked his music and calm, intellectual way of doing things. She often claimed that she didn't understand him, but she found balance in Rei.

When his father told him he would be married off to one of the princesses of the other kingdoms, Rei wasn't surprised. They obviously wanted him out of the palace, away from the throne. But when Rei learned that Serefina had to go as well, Rei knew more. At first, he was shocked to hear that Serefina was leaving. He had thought for sure that the family would want to keep her around. But over the past couple years, Serefina had been more trouble than usual. Her fiery temper was building, it seemed, as she grew older. Politically, it was smart to send an intimidating daughter to wed - it would give a message to the other kingdoms not to mess with them. But then why send Rei? Soon he had worked it out. Despite his anger and frustration with Serefina, Father still wanted his little "angel" to be happy. So he sent her favorite brother along with her.

Rei didn't really mind. He couldn't stand being in that large palace, feeling alone and ostracized. He felt as if he didn't belong there. But he found comfort with Serefina. She could be sweet when she wanted to. Rei could always coax out her softer side.

Personality:

Rei is calm and collected. Unlike his siblings, Rei's temper is always even. He battles not with brawn but with brain. His intellect is sharp and his memory is astounding. Puzzles are Rei's main strength, working things out immediately. He's also naturally cautious. He likes to sit back and wait, projecting a laid-back atmosphere around him. He collects and stores information, remembering people's personalities, habits, and other little quirks most people don't pick up on. Thus, Rei is very good at reading people.

Rei is a natural pleaser. He hates to see people upset. He can always be counted on to try and lighten things up, or comfort if necessary. He also holds no prejudice towards people of the other kingdoms. He figures he doesn't know them - thus, he shouldn't judge until he can make an opinion himself.

Rei is controlled by logic. He never jumps to conclusions, and thinks about things carefully and slowly. This can often irritate members of his family who usually do quite the opposite.

Finally, Rei, while so lost in his own mind, often wanders places. Despite his mental organization, Rei is a very messy person. His things are always in disarray and he often loses things.


Appearance:

Rei is tall with broad shoulders. He inherited the build from the rest of the family - The people of the Fire Kingdom have always been muscular. He stands at about 6'1 but leans back a lot, projecting a lower height. He does this to appear less menacing. His bear-like structure does not reflect his inner self. Rei has long-ish light brown hair with blonde highlights. He has dark, forrest green eyes.
