Oddities:
Pretty much every item of clothing Sudhir wears is ripped in some way, to the point where he no longer feels comfortable in clothes that are not damaged. People tend to react to finding his first name is Bipin with some level of confusion. It just sounds so bubbly and it doesn't fit. Sudhir has a fear of being crushed, though it's fairly manageable, being an Earthbender, it's not like he has to worry about landslides. He lights up like a New Years lantern if he gets flustered.
{Brave, Loyal, Stubborn, Awkward}
Sudhir is a naturally surly young man. He isn't terribly good at talking to other people, so he puts up a kind of wall of aggression. Once you manage to climb over it, you quickly realise why. The boy is a bit of a dork. He feels things deeply, and his loyalty is bone deep. Sudhir has an almost overdeveloped sense of duty, and hates feeling like he's failed at something, or disappointed someone. He's on a constant quest for improvement, no job is finished forever, and no amount of practice is enough to him. He's a hard worker, and holds himself to high standards. High standards that he actually tends not to hold other people to. Once people get past his scowl, they often realise he's very patient, and kind. He'd make a pretty good teacher. He has a genuine heroic streak, he doesn't feel like he can stand for any kind of injustice, especially against animals. However, he doesn't quite catch on to that, as far as he's concerned, he just does what anyone would do. Sudhir has a lot of problems communicating, though it's mostly that he's just painfully shy. He's very neat, he likes things to be just so, and he likes having routines. He's extremely protective of friends and family, and will put their safety above all else, even duty, when it comes down to it. He's trying to reserve judgement on the Avatar, even if he can't help having heard the legends of Avatars growing up, especially given his being an Earthbender. However, even if he finds that he doesn't like the Avatar herself, he's determined to help her out however possible, as he sees that as his duty.
Hobbies:
Writing letters Sudhir writes a lot. It started with him constantly writing letters to his elder sister, but he has also found that it sometimes feels good to write letters to people that he never intends to send. Helps him get the things he can't say out of his system.
Practicing bending Since he started out as a self-taught bender, he feels a little like he's on the back foot, so he works hard to catch up with what he thinks his skill level should be.
Reading There was never a lot of interaction with outsiders back in Sudhir's village, so he likes to read about various subjects, like trade and cultures.

Habits:
Worrying Sudhir tends to internalise things that bother him. He worries a lot, about the people around him, about the future, you name it.
Animals Sudhir is pretty much incapable of passing an animal without interacting with it at least a little. They remind him of his hometown, and all the farms there.
Frowning Sudhir has a chronic case of a Resting Scowl.

- He's a powerful Earthbender, and the unique way his abilities have been developed has given him a deft touch with it, and also made him a little less predictable than usual.

- He seems to be almost incapable of giving up on something he truly cares about.
Weaknesses:
- Sudhir is terrible at communicating, and gets flustered easily.
- He can be overly aggressive, though his bark is often worse than his bite.
- He cares a great deal about how others perceive him, usually more than he needs to.
- Sudhir holds truly legendary grudges if someone does him wrong.
- He has some bad habits in his Earthbending style, things he learned before he was properly trained, such as using less power than he needs to.
Sudhir was born pretty average. Average size, average family, average village. The most interesting thing about him was that he had never met his father. Never wanted to either, the man hadn't been a terribly good husband to Sudhir's mother, we'll leave it at that. Sudhir was raised by his mother and elder sister, alongisde the rest of his hometown, a very closeknit farming community where everyone knew each other. When Sudhir's Earthbending abilities presented, the town didn't really make much of a fuss. Near as any of them could tell, he wasn't terribly strong, and members of the community had old hand-me-down bending scrolls he could use to learn how to control it. He grew up a pretty happy kid, helping out on his family's small farm, and the farms of his neighbours. His bending often came in pretty handy, tipping flipped carts back onto their wheels and such, but remained almost a town secret. They never told any outsiders about their local Earthbender, though if directly asked, none would have really lied.
On the outskirts of the town, there were some old ruins of stone buildings. The town often used them for events, due to being both spacious and relatively protected from the weather. However, these ruins weren't completely stable. During an event of some kind, the structure finally collapsed. Panic arose briefly, until people realised that the falling masonry was frozen in place. All eyes searched for Sudhir and his family. He was found with a huge gash running across his torso, pinned beneath some of the stone, as he was focusing his energy on saving the rest of the town. Sadly, it quickly became apparent that his mother had been one of the very few he hadn't been fast enough to save. No one in town blamed Sudhir, he was only 10 at the time, but he certainly blamed himself. The community rallied around him and his sister, Ling, who was 17, and therefore old enough to look after herself and her brother, in the town's eyes. There had been outsiders attending this event, and this quickly led to offers to train Sudhir properly. The town didn't like the idea of handing off one of their own to outsiders, especially a hurting little boy. One of the most reluctant to give him up was Ling, who shared Sudhir's temper, and had many shouting matches with outsiders. However, Ling knew that the offers would just keep coming, with so few benders around, and eventually one wouldn't take no for an answer. She also wasn't equipped to take care of a traumatised Earthbender, whose abilities were getting out of control in response. Even if it was her little brother.
Eventually, an outsider convinced Ling that they were trustworthy enough to let Sudhir go with them. Sudhir also understood that his sister was overwhelmed and that he needed to either leave or get his Earthbending under control soon. He had started having nightmares about his bending knocking down his house and hurting his sister. He helped convince Ling, and the town, to let him go. Ling allowed the outsider to leave with Sudhir on one condition, that Sudhir send her letters as often as he possibly can. Sudhir was trained in proper Earthbending, though he still had strange features to his bending style from his self-taught background knowledge. He was eventually chosen to be brought to the Facility, to work with the new Avatar...
