Astrid

The history teacher droned on in a monotone voice about something that Astrid really didn't care for when it came to history. Her mind began to wander as she stared out the window and fiddled with the necklace around her neck, a present from her mother a couple of years before.

"I’m passing back your book reports and I must say I was impressed by how thorough some of you were on your topics of interest. Miss Foster", he tapped Astrid on the shoulder. I'm very impressed with yours, the extensive information you had on Norse mythology and Viking history was very interesting. I commend you on your grade, very rarely do find one of my students reports to be so enthralling that I don't want to put it down till I'm finished".

Astrid nodded "Thank you sir" she blushed slightly as some in the class laughed at her, the teacher nodded and continued passing out the rest of the graded assignments.

ᴬ⁺ 150/100

She hated getting papers like this sometimes, it usually ended up with her getting teased, she sighed and as soon as the bell tolled she bolted out the door and to her locker.

"Just be grateful it's your last year of high school" she said quietly to herself, the fact that it was a school on a military base didn't help either. "Astrid dear you’re just special that’s all", she heard this all the time from her mother, but that didn't change the fact it was embarrassing as hell.

Her senior year in high school had so far been less then tolerable. She was grateful for graduation and the upcoming summer, Astrid wasn't sure what she was going to do with herself after she graduated. One of the many arguments she had been having with her mother as of late, that and the fact that she was still getting into fights at school. Her school record back even when she was very young had that shadow, but she had never been able to back down from a fight; it was like a matter of pride. She had always been one of the tallest, strongest girls and for some reason guys felt they had to prove themselves stronger than her.

She sighed and looked into the mirror in the back of her locker the necklace had always been so important to her because her mother had told her it would protect her. As far as she knew her mother wasn't very religious except for the Norse beliefs that she held to, Astrid never really understood why.

"Thor's hammer" she mumbled to herself not really thinking.

"Astrid you’re talking to yourself again", said a slightly nasally tone of voice.

She shook her head trying to get the fog out of her head, Astrid looked up to see her best friend "Hey, Bailey" she said.

They guy before her was a head shorter than her, had large, thick black glasses on, and Captain America t-shirt on; no one ever expected them to be friends. The kid was by everyone else's standards considered to be a geek, but Bailey was one of the nicest people you would ever meet. He had an obsession over the Avengers; he had all kind of books and merchandise at his house, much to the chagrin to his father who was a General. All tough guys like General Hicks wanted their sons to be muscle headed idiots like themselves. So to have a total dork for a son is very disappointing to him and he never ceases to let Bailey know either.

"I heard through the grape vine that you beat the holy hell out of Griffin yesterday" he said with a smile. "Almost broke his arm, I swear Astrid are you sure you're not some kind of super hero from another planet, like in the comic books?" he chuckled.

This was a conversation that she had been having with him since they were in the third grade, "Nooo, I'm sure I'm not some kind of super hero" Astrid sighed. When they were younger they would play super heroes, living on a military base you had to find something to do even though his father wasn't too happy about his son playing with a girl.

"Maybe you're a mutant? I've been hearing allot about that lately in the news there's supposed to be some school in New York. All kinds of secret shit" he said with genuine concern for her.

That was a new explanation, Astrid thought about it for a moment, maybe he was right and that's why her mother wouldn't tell her anything about her father. Astrid had never known her father and never really known him. She would ask questions especially when Astrid's mother would be informed of something odd or extraordinary she had done. Once again her mother would only reply that she was special or scold her for fighting at school and then under her breath thinking she couldn't hear would comment on how much she was like her father. Astrid's only thought to this was if she knew more about her father then maybe she could avoid doing things like him.

"I don't know maybe I am..." it was then the bell rang and everyone started to file into school to start the day. The pair walked in hoping the day would be fairly uneventful.

-OOC- Astrid is at a high school on a secret military base... she is not aware of this and has lived there her whole life. You characters do not have to be at this school, but that doesn't mean they can't be at the school. Be creative! =^.^=

Astrid

Astrid looked around wondering who was playing the prank and had the balls to play Gun's and Roses over the PA system. As entertaining as it was she was curious how they would get in trouble. That was when a guy came busting through the doors of the school she watched Baileys expression go from confusion to that of childlike glee. The only thing Astrid could think of is how this reminded her of a bad eighties high school movie where guys steal and crash they're best friends dad's car, or stand outside girls bedrooms in the middle of the night blasting a song for her on a huge boombox in a trench coat.

"Who does this guy think he is Ferris Bueller?" a sarcastic smirk forming on her mouth.

Bailey just stood there gawking as the guy passed them then winking and flirting with some ogling girls. She rolled her eyes and grabbed Bailey by the shoulder, "Come on Bailey I want to get out of here before I puke" she was surprised when Bailey grabbed her hand.

"Do you know who that is Astrid?" he said his voice in a slow drawn out manner as if he was in shock.

Astrid raised an eyebrow and looked the guy over again as he continued down the hall, "I have no clue should I know who he is?".

Bailey turned and placed his hands on her shoulders gently shaking her "Are you serious! What rock have you lived under for the past 18 years? It's... It's..." his voice lowered and he stood up on the tips of his feet to whisper in Astrid's ear.

She leaned down so Bailey didn't have stretch so far "It's Iron Man's son" his voice trailing off into a high pitched squeal that reminded Astrid of a girl who and just seen her crush cross her path.

Astrid glanced back at the guy confused, she knew Bailey couldn't be mistaken he knew his Avengers and if he said it was Iron Man's son then he was correct. "Why would he be here Bailey?, He wouldn't have no reason to go to some dinky military base high school" she said.

Bailey just stood there in awe, after a moment of waiting for him to come back to Earth she gave up and started to walk down the hall in the opposite direction of the Stark kid.

Elyse

Elyse walked down the hallway, her nose buried in a book. As usual, she was reading a thick book on psychology, deeply immersed in the tiny words printed on the page. Her father encouraged this kind of reading, though amazingly, her eyesight was still as good as ever.

Since Elyse was preoccupied with the book, she wasn't watching where she was going. She accidentally walked into a girl, and stumbled back immediately. "Oh my gosh, are you okay? I'm so sorry, it was an accident, I wasn't watching where I was walking. I swear, it wasn't on purpose? Are you okay?" Elyse was vaguely aware of herself rambling on and on, but she tended to react like that. She was sincerely worried that the other girl was hurt, and didn't want it to be her fault.

Finally, Elyse got enough control to shut her mouth and stop it from saying something she would regret. She looked up at the student and recognised her vaguely as someone she'd seen a couple of times in school before. She stepped back and watched the girl carefully.

Astrid

Astrid had only taken a few steps when someone crashed right into her, of course Astrid being very solid and rarely fazed by such a collision stood firm where she was. Afraid that she might have hurt the girl she reached out to her as the girl profusely apologized for not paying attention to where she was going.

"Hey it's okay frankly I'm more worried about hurting you then me" she said with a smile.

The girl was slightly familiar Astrid thought, but she was sure she had only really seen her in passing period, it was at this point that Astrid noticed the locked side door just adjacent to her pop open and a guy slip in. She blinked watching this guy wondering where the hell he came from, she then shook her head and turned back to the girl.

"Sorry about that today is one weird day, first the thing with the PA system, one random guy comes busting in the front doors like he owns the place" she turns back to the other guy that slipped in. "And another comes in like he's James Bond or something" she sighed and turned back to the girl. "My names Astrid by the way" she put out her hand to shake the girls.

Elyse

"Hey, it's okay. Frankly, I'm more worried about hurting you than me." Elyse shook her head. "Oh no. Of course not. I mean, I'm kind of used to it, I'm insanely clumsy and I never do learn my lesson. You see, I love to read, and I'm always walking around with my head in a book..."

She trailed off, realising she'd been prattling nonsense again. It always happened, she would have to learn to control her mouth.

"My name's Astrid, by the way." Elyse thought, Astrid. Taking a close look at the girl, she decided it wouldn't hurt to share this bit of knowledge with Astrid. "That's a nice name. Astrid comes from the old Norse elements 'god' and 'beautiful'. I think that suits you, you're rather pretty." Elyse reached out and shook her hand, then introduced herself. "I'm Elyse, Elyse Banner."

Astrid

"That's a nice name. Astrid comes from the old Norse elements 'god' and 'beautiful'. I think that suits you, you're rather pretty."

Astrid blinked she didn't think of herself as attractive in anyway, she was taller then most other girls and guys were intimidated by her. She hadn't ever anyone say that she was... "pretty".

"Yeah sure my moms really into Norse Mythology...so am I, it's where she got my name" she said as the girl shook her hand.

"I'm Elyse, Elyse Banner."

Banner now Astrid was sure she had heard that somewhere before but she wasn't sure wear.

"Nice to meet you" she said with a smile "Well I got to get going I got to get to my next class" she started go on down the hall and turned into an art room. While she sat working on a project the teacher handed a paper to her telling her she need to meet in the cafeteria after school. Astrid blinked and the stuck the paper in her notebook. What was it this time she hadn't gotten in trouble this week what was cause for her to have to meet somewhere after school she just sighed and reserved herself for whatever punishment she was sure to get.

Unknown to Astrid this same note was sent to four other students.

((OOC everyone has received a similar not asking them to meet in the cafeteria after school))

Elyse

Elyse watched Astrid turn and leave, feeling a little lonely. Without warning, a boy running from behind crashed into her, both falling to the ground. Second time in a day, Elyse thought with a sigh. She stood up and offered the boy her hand, pulling him up.

He apologized hurriedly, then proceeded to ask her, "Do you know where I could find Elyse Banner?" Elyse blinked. "I'm Elyse Banner." The boy laughed sheepishly, then thrust a piece of paper at her. Before Elyse could ask him anything, he'd run off again.

Curious, Elyse unfolded the paper. It told her to meet in the cafeteria at 3pm. Elyse checked her watch. 2.45pm. I'd better get going then.

He noticed a tall strikingly beautiful and thin girl standing off to the side of the hall follow him with her eyes. She had flaxen blonde hair and seemed to be having a conversation with the shorter dark haired girl across from her who was equally as beautiful.

He heard the last snippets of the conversation between the two as he approached "...like he's James Bond or something," his swagger dropped off as he drew nearer to the two girls. He shook his head slightly at the comparison to James Bond.

"Pardon me miss, but would you be so kind as to point me in the direction of the administrative office?" he said, tapping the brown haired girl on the shoulder lightly, the slightest hint of a tremor in his voice.

"I do apologize for the interruption. It was my intention to slip in unnoticed, but, alas my plan backfired," He said to the blonde haired girl, flashing a lopsided smile. following their thoughts he moved around the girls, farther into the building.

"Down this hall then?" he asked brusquely and rhetorically,

"My name is Bryce Barton by the way. But, please call me B.J." he said as he made his way down the hall towards the office.

The lady at the desk was nice, if a bit clipped and strangely he had no idea what she was thinking. It was as if there was a wall between there minds much like the ones Professor X and Jane had used to help him gain a stronger control over his powers.

She handed him a welcome packet and pointed to a shelf with a stack of books and handout packets placed neatly in a pyramid. Unzipping the duffel he had been carrying he gently moved his folded re-curve bow out of the way and pulled his empty backpack from the top of his clothes. immediately he zipped the bag back up and opened the empty bag placing the books inside neatly, then he placed the welcome packet in the front pocket.

He suddenly noticed a small white piece of paper paper-clipped to the side of the packet. he removed it and zipped the bag up, slinging it onto his shoulders. unfolding the paper he found that he was to meet in the cafeteria around 3 pm after school.

"Well that is odd," he muttered to himself under his breath. folding the paper and shoving it into his back pocket he lifted the schedule the admin had printed off the counter and scanned to the class he had during the current period. He was surprised that by late the man who had dropped him off had meant that the last period of the day was more than half way finished.

Before he knew it the last 30 minutes of the day had come and gone and it was time for him to make his way towards the cafeteria. With a little hesitation he moved against the flow of students, back towards the cafeteria, waiting at the door to see if other people were going to show up.
