Setting
In the beginning Bashara was a very savage land rules by barbarian tribes. A lord of the time had taken his people from a land which had gone under a cataclysm. They were beset by the unsympathetic warmongers there and had become rather desperate. A golden dragon had just settled in the land also surprised by the upheaval within it. The lord beseeched the dragon to aid them, to which it agreed. In a long and arduous campaign the lord and dragon were able to build an army and were able to drive out the vagabonds down south. After which the lord was crowned king and the land was named after the dragon whom aided in his campaign.
Since then it has become tradition that a golden dragon was to advise the current king and aid in any struggle against evil. Whenever a golden dragon dies or retires, another takes its place, to which the land is then renamed after.
The current one is called Bashara who has guarded the land for 99 years soon to be one hundred, and a festival celebrating a century of her care is being planned.
