Setting
Alex blushed and looked down again. "I don't know...they bother some people" she thought specifically about Spencer and how Ironic it was that he didn't like her scars. He always pointed them out and taunted her with them.
When he talked about not being a superficial guy she lowered her head again. "Sorry" she said in a whisper. They laid in silence for a second until he told her that she was perfect for HIM. 'And you're perfect for me' she thought. Mel's voice suddenly rang in her head "Let him tell you your perfect. Let him love you. Stop holding back, you'll just end up hurting the poor guy" Alex smirked and said "I'm starting to think you're perfect for me too" she looked up at him and kissed him.
"So, what do you want to do? There's still plenty of daylight left"
"I hope you are hungry, because we are going for a picnic" He smiled and picked up the room phone. "Hi, Samuel and Alexandria would like to go on a picnic, is there any way you could fix us up a basket?" He asked and hung up after they positively responded.
"We should change...I wanna see you in something cute" He winked at her and pushed himself off the bed. "I will be taking pictures. Beware" He opened his eyes wide and laughed afterwards. "I'll be back in a minute" He left her in her room and went to his to change back into clothes. He put on some distressed jeans and a white tshirt, He grabbed his camera and strolled back into her room. "I'm ready when you are babe" It just kind came out. He blushed a little after and sat in a chair to wait for her.
"I'm really hungry actually." she said happily. She listened as he ordered a picnic for them and smiled when he got off the phone.
His next comment puzzled her. "Don't I normally wear something cute?" she laughed lightly. He was just telling her that she was incredibly beautiful just the way she was. Once he left the room she went and pulled out a Dress and cardigan out of her bag and changed into it quickly. To finish the outfit off, she grabbed a pair of salmon colored wedges just in time to hear Samuel call for her. 'Babe?' she automatically thought. "Well i'm ready....babe" she said back playfully.
He led her downstairs to the main corridor where the staff was waiting with a picnic basket and blanket for them. "There's a field down the path after the garden" One of them informed the couple.
"Thank you" Samuel smiled and took the basked, looping the blanket through the handles. "Oh good, I can finally get you in the garden while I have my camera" He said as they stood before the beautiful yard of flowers. This place really was a dream come true.
"Go ahead, stop and smell the roses" He said with a smile. Gosh he just couldn't stop smiling. He took pictures of her throughout the garden. She was the perfect subject.
Alex did as she was instructed and smirked playfully. She took his hand and followed him out. "Thank you" she said to the staff, bowing her head slightly in respect. One of the staff members gave her a bright smile and Alex thought it looked truly sincere.
Samuel wanted to stop when they were in the garden so she did willingly. Every once in awhile she'd bend down and smell a flower or two. She then moved over to a pathway and sat down. She looked at all the beauty she was surrounded by and smiled brightly. Her skirt was spread around her legs and she gently tucked her legs underneath her. "So how long have you been taking pictures?" she asked curiously.
"I got my first real camera when I was 15, her name was Shania." He stated with a smirk, his eye still in the view finder. "God, you look gorgeous like that.." He moved around her and took some more and then held out his hand to help her up.
"Let's find that field!" He laughed, helping her along the path. "How is your leg feeling?" He asked quietly, looking down at her.
They eventually reached the field. It was gorgeous. Some parts had long grass and then there was some short grass under some shade trees.
"Let's eat first, then we can take more pictures..."
He laid the blanket down under a tree and set the basket down, spreading out their food. "Wow, they went all out on this one"
Alex smirked again at the fact that he named his inanimate objects. "Thank you" she smiled, basking in the sun. She wanted to tell him she was really trying, but she wasn't really paying attention. Everything was so beautiful and something different caught her eye every few minutes.
He held his hand out to her and she took it willingly. "It shouldn't be too hard to find" she laughed "There will be a big blanket in an open field" then he asked her about her leg "I had actually forgotten about it until now. It hurts a little I guess but I've gotten pretty good at ignoring pain" it was true. It was something she adapted to. She didn't plan on using the crutches anymore and she was glad that Samuel didn't push her about them.
As they sat down Alex rested on her elbows "I wonder what they packed us" she said, genuinely intrigued. When he spread out all the food she wasn't TOO surprised "We shouldn't really be surprised, nothing here has been mediocre since we came here. Why would they start now?"
"Yummmm. What would you like first?" He pulled out two big plastic plates and silverware. "I'm gonna have a sandwhich and potato salad for starters" He pulled out two glasses and poured a bit of sparking wine in them, setting them on the top of the picnic basket. He filled up his plate and sat back.
"I never would have dreamed that this is what it would be like to come here..." he admired the view that they had of a field and blue blue skies.
Alex watched as he pulled the assortment from the bag. "It all looks so good" she smiled and wondered how everything was so organized and so well thought out. Ms. Trenton must be superior at this kind of thing' she thought with a smile, wondering what her life story was. "I'll just have a sandwich for now, i'm not a huge fan of potato salad." she paused "Wait, does it have onions in it? If it doesn't I'll have a little bit" she hated onions cooked, raw, or otherwise.
"Thank you." she said softly as she took the wine glass from him. "Me neither. Everything here is so breathtaking." she smiled and looked at him. "Everything"
He took a sip of wine and listened to her comment and then looked around and then at her. "not compared to you.." He smiled and leaned over and kissed her softly.
"I'm not sure if you heard this often enough, but you are absolutely gorgeous Alex." He stated it as if it was a fact and everyone should know its true.
He gazed at her a little longer then leaned back and started to eat. He was laying on his side, propped on one arm. The food was so delicious. Everything in this moment was pretty much perfect.
