Penny is not exactly one of those head turners you see walking down the street swinging her hips. But she is a bit of a showstopper. I mean, who wouldn’t stop and look at such an oddly dressed young person? Penny’s fashion sense is downright back-asswords. She wears a practically quilted jacket that seems to be made up of several different patterns, and a woven indie belt that doesn’t match. Her pants are from the boy’s section and her hat is the same as her jacket. The only semi-normal part of her outfit would be if she took off the jacket and hat and revealed her button-up white top with a ribbon-bow necklace to accent it. She ends up wearing this outfit all the damn time, washing it constantly, which gives it a used look. Her excuse for such a fashion crime is her insistence that she is not supporting the consumerism going on in the country today. She thinks it is wrong to sell clothes at such a high price when really it only took you a couple of bucks to make. Her close family knows better and thinks she is just lazy, hates shopping, and is a weirdo.

That is just what she wears, as for her looks; they end up looking quite gender ambiguous despite her girlish smile. She’s a flat as a board and has very little curve to her body. While being quite thin, thank you fast metabolism, she is often made fun of for perhaps looking too much like a teenage boy. It probably does not help her outlook that she has short hair; it doesn’t even reach her shoulders and is cut in a messy manner. The color of it matches her eyes, a light brown that can be considered dull to some. It can be said that while she may not be a drop dead gorgeous girl, she does look soft and homely.

Her nose turns up slightly and her mouth is thin, while her face is round with a sharp chin. An interesting feature on this face would be the tattoo on it, two tear drops representing the two times she has been in jail.

Penny is not a very realistic person, always daydreaming and going on about some sort of thought or dream she had, but regardless of her creativity her drawings still suck. That aside, a daydreamer is not likely to be unfriendly, and that would be correct in the case of Penny, she is quite friendly, more so than most people deserve really, giving her dirty looks and all. She seems to look past that and give them a smile anyway. This is due to how thoughtful she is, she makes excuses for people constantly, like ‘they must be having a bad day’ or ‘they must be having a bad life experience’. The thought of people being truly awful is a fallacy to Penny, and no matter what you say you won’t change her mind on that matter. In her eyes everyone is a little better than they actually are.

But having that sort of attitude around this town will get you killed, and it’s a wonder Penny hasn’t died already. For her troubles she has been thrown in jail twice, been beaten up lord knows how many times, and can only get a job at an entertainment show as a first aid because of her ‘felonies’. Felonies which were given wrongfully in her stubborn and resolute opinion.. This whole business of it being illegal to obstruct the going-ons of crime bosses is ridiculous, and Penny aka Chalk, won’t stand for too much of it going on right in front of her nose. She is stupidly nosey about these things, and has landed in trouble more than once.

Penny is enthusiastic about life, and encourages others to be the same way, that is why she had trained to be a nurse in the first place. But her dream land is a tad bit in ruins, she has nothing to show for in her years of life, and has ended up just looking like a an awkward young adult with no prospects. She is grateful despite that however, and is just happy it isn’t worse.

Penny is quite oblivious to most things, especially what is acceptable in terms of definition of certain things, such as ‘things of value’. Normally that would money, but to her it means things with memories and use instilled into them, and that is why she frequents garage sales more than she does actual stores. Her habits are a tad strange, like the way she sits; always cross legged, and how she can be superstitious (unreasonably so) about cameras. Penny is romantic, friendly, and stuck in the clouds. Her favorite people always tend to be those who have the sense to keep their head on their shoulders, she admires people like that, and agrees when people call her naïve. She hopes to change that and better herself, even though she is well aware that she is no genius, at least she is sensible enough to know that and not have an ego that says otherwise.

Her boss Mr. Alejandro, she is fairly new to the job, but good at it. She thinks of him quite often, as he is a very curious person indeed. She disagrees with him on most standings, but doesn't want to be fired so stays quiet. She wonders where he goes on his motorbike when he drives off into the night. Though she certainly has her suspisions...he must secretly be an alien, she is sure of it.
