Out of school hours, Yomi must admit she enjoys turning heads. Be her dresses white, stockings black, or long shirts navy blue, Yomi takes pleasure in showing off her femininity by accenting her shoulders or legs. It's no secret she follows a number of street fashion blogs. Particularly American and Chinese ones.
Yomi is expected to have great posture and she can certainly deliver. A straight back, short but fluent motions and skilled at walking in high heels to the point she can run in them. However, when she has the choice to, Yomi's movement is a lot more playful. She often arcs her back or leans on objects or people and can be a little touchy.

P E R S O N A L I T Y T R A I T S
An eccentric and thrill-seeking girl whose eyes stare into a different reality. Unsure what she is searching for, Yomi fills that void with expression art, the nightlife and charity.
Even to Yomi herself it's hard to tell where her mind wanders. Fleeting feelings often guide her decisions in her ongoing journey in search of the self. Yomi mixes up her whimsical, if not quixotic impression with a mellow character. She stays open-minded and easy-going no matter what thrills she is compelled to pursue.
Notorious as a hedonist and often seen as an airhead for her capricious ways, few people think of Yomi as the scheming type. The girl is, however, quite cunning. Yomi is also far more compassionate than rumours would have you believe. She feels an obligation to help friends and acquaintances where she can - as long as it's by her own ability. Her confidence rides on it, but by the way Yomi shrugs and smiles it seems as if she thinks nothing of it.

Even though Yomi's summons are completely black and require a shadow to use as a summoning portal, once summoned they are physical objects; which means the laws of physics apply to them. Each has weight and mass, similar to the type of object it was. This means that they can be blocked or parried, despite being spells in nature.
The size of Yomi her summons depends on the width of the shadow; they cannot exceed it. The kinetic force she applies without touching it cannot switch direction past the initial application. However, if she does maintain contact, Yomi can move it as she pleases. She cannot change the shape of an object once summoned, however, not summon anything that is in any way animated... Yet.

With the lack of personnel, many children took to the streets where they looked after one another. Yomi was a curious, cunning and mischievous child โ which made her endearing to the older kids. They would smuggle her out of the orphanage to show her more of town, particularly the gathering spot for street dogs, which the kids had befriended by occasionally sharing their leftovers. They also taught Yomi from a young age how bleak the fate of foundlings and orphans was. They would never have what the other kids had, and their lives would always be more difficult.
There was hope. Every so often, a childless couple would come to the orphanage and would adopt one of the lucky children. The choice would almost always fall upon a younger child. As the older kids had come to see Yomi as their own, they stepped on her luck. Right before a visit, they would ruffle her hair with mud, or they would tell her horror stories about the visiting couples, so that she would stay with them at the orphanage.
When Yomi began to see through this trick, she was angry beyond the likes the older kids had ever seen. They regret their actions, but Yomi did not forgive them for sabotaging her future. The girl was determined to be the next child to be adopted and to live the life that normal kids could. She would have a future. However, adoptive parents were few and far between. Months went by without a single visit.
Yomi grew impatient. Together with one of the older girls who still felt sorry for her, she devised a plot involving some old fashioned theft, a street mutt and a slice of frankfurter. Her partner in crime, Kiyoko, nabbed the purse off of a wealthy-looking woman and fled into the alleyways with the woman's husband on her tail. She let the man pursue to the territory of a pack of street mutts. The dogs did not take kindly to the stranger, soon surrounding the man with bared teeth. Kiyoko safely made her escape, leaving the man to his supposed pending doom.
When Yomi arrived on the scene, she whistled sharply and threw a piece of sausage she had preserved from last night's dinner to lure the dogs away from the man, then guided him out of the alleyways to safety and back to his wife. The man believed Yomi had saved his life and was eager to repay her. However, cunning to the bone, the girl held her tongue and willed tears to her eyes. The man and his wife knew not what to do. When they asked for her parents, she shook her head. When they asked for her home, she shook her head. When they asked what was wrong, a tearful Yomi lied that her only food had been eaten by the dogs. The husband and wife could not let this be. They took Yomi to their home, but beyond the girl's expectations... That home was a bona fide mansion! The man was the head of the Sakurano family; a wealthy business tycoon. Yomi knew she could not let this opportunity pass her by.
After dinner, Yomi manipulated her tear ducts once more. She told the Sakurano couple she was unworthy of their kindness. That it was wasted on a child like her without a future and that she had been selfish to accept it. This broke the Sakurano couple's heart. Mrs. Sakurano insisted Yomi stayed the night. The girl bowed as deeply as she could and apologised for fifteen minutes straight.
The following morning, Mr. and Mrs. Sakurano came to Yomi bearing the news she had secretly hoped to hear. Mr. Sakurono explained that he owed Yomi his life and that his honour would not allow it for Yomi to live her days out in the orphanage. He had contacted them and made arrangements; as soon as they could make all paperwork in order, the Sakurano family would adopt Yomi.
In order to maintain her hold on the affections of the Sakurano family, Yomi dedicated herself to fulfilling the expectations they had of their own children. She studied hard and was soon heralded as a child prodigy. Her adoptive parents had high hopes for her, making sure Yomi always had everything within her reach to climb to the top of modern society. English and music lessons, ballet followed by two hours etiquette, Yomi's agenda was full every day. She even started high-school a year early, a testament to all her parents thought they had done for her.
Yet Yomi herself grew estranged in her teenage years. She could sip tea while balancing a dictionary on her head while solving a mathematical equation while following the news on CNN, but Yomi wondered what next. Yearning for the answer of what to do with her new life, Yomi, at age fourteen, decided to follow the whims of her clueless heart wherever they might take her. She has chased them ever since.

- Mr. and Mrs. Sakurano treat Yomi as their own daughter. She herself has come to love them in return, but feels guilt over her deception.
- Sakurano Yuichi, Yomi's bratty and uncharacteristically older brother. Yomi has always treated him respectfully and Yuichi has come to return the favour. Still, Yuichi harbours some jealousy.
- Kiyoko, an old friend from the orphanage. Unlike Yomi, the years have not been kind to Kiyoko. Their contact may be sparse, but Kiyoko doesn't skimp an opportunity to let Yomi know she still owes her.
- Amari Sakura, one of Yomi's clubbing friends. She acts stressed, but grows a stash of the city's finest in her brother's garage. Sakura and Yomi compliment each other's eccentricities and get along well.
