Charlotte is prone to anger with hearing people's thoughts that often. It drives her insane and she feels as though it can hardly offer her time to focus on her own thoughts and feelings. It has few perks that can be appreciated in the moment, otherwise she hears everyone's day-to-day drama or truly awful news. But even thoughts that should bring glee, irritate her. Everything's become a cliche. Hence her natural snark.
On the rare occasion things do go quiet, she can be found bouncing around with excitement and much like a kitten, just want to play while she's in a good mood to the point of annoying fellow acquaintances. Charlotte is a girl that understands no means no but you have to say it convincingly without traces of smile or joke, otherwise suffer the merciless playful side.

This isn't to assume there's no middle ground though the two extremes do tend to hit the surface the most.
