Cat is...cute. There's no other way to describe that very adorable face. She appears younger than she is. She has fair skin and light blue eyes. She has flyaway, untidy brown hair that refuses to stay gathered, no matter how hard she tries, due to her incredibly fast movement. She stands at 5'3 but weighs hardly a hundred pounds. She is very thin, yet she is stronger than she appears and is in very good shape from all her running.
Cat has a necklace that once belonged to her mother, Marina Valdez. Right before she died, Marina gave the necklace to Cat, and Cat has worn it ever since. (view spoiler)

Personality: Cat is practically fearless. She loves challenges, loves the thrill of risk, danger, the rush of a good fight. She's reckless, impulsive, impatient, and incredibly stubborn. She acts first and thinks later. She is quick and incredibly brave, at times even to the point of foolishness. She is cocky, proud, and self-confident, very sure of her abilities. Cat is always on the move, never staying still for long. She is fierce and independent, with a wild, untamed bravado. She doesn't get angry often, and isn't offended easily, but when she does get angry, she gets very angry. She's smart, smarter than people give her credit for. She's fiercely loving and loyal to her friends. She would willingly fight and die for those she loves and what she believes in. She's not the leader type, but she doesn't follow blindly, and she doesn't let others manipulate or control her.

History: Catalina Valdez grew up an only child in Manhattan with her parents, Marina and Jesus Valdez. They lived a relatively ordinary life until Marina was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Within a year, Cat's mother was dead. Cat was only nine at the time. A year later, Cat's father remarried, this time to a woman who already had two sons, twins. They moved to San Francisco for Cat's father's job. Since the death of her mother, Cat had grown rebellious. She had a very tense relationship with her father, and they argued a lot, mainly over his decision to remarry. Cat also hated her stepmother, who treated Cat like dirt. Due to the constant tension at home, Cat spent more and more time out of the house. Her grades dropped dramatically, she made friends with "the wrong sort," as her father said, she often skipped school, she was constantly in trouble.
