Tanu uses the fact most think he is not smart or do not understand the language they speak. He chooses to continue to pretend he doesn't understand. He tries to be clever and keep himself alive. He has no desire to return to his people because he wouldn't know what to do with himself. He loves the art of dance and plays the part with perfection. He normally is able to find favor in the owner, using his dance to sooth or entertain as needed.
At the age of ten some strangers came to the village, they were friendly and traded much with the elders. Even with the limits of their language barriers they were able to form some sort of loose alliance with the strangers. It was the night of the full moon, when the people danced and made merry before the spirit of the wind and shadows.
Many danced and sang during the course of the day praising the spirits for their blessings. Tanu was one of the many who had done this before the strangers. He performed well enough for the pale ones to steal him away. They only took him and another young maiden who attempted to run away and was killed. Tanu was secured with heavy shackles and prodded to dance for his captures during their evening meal. He learned swiftly that he was given things when he did what he was told, and those things were taken away when he tried to escape.
Tanu had many owners, he was sold many times to the highest bidder. Over the next ten years his owners moved north, death rained upon the last house by some thieves and he was again in the hands of the flesh traders. This time he was taken to a city where he was displayed for all to see, his current owner calling to the richly dressed to check out his wares. A noble came forward and bid on the exotic looking male.
Skills: Tanu has a knack of dancing, his body is flexible and lithe making his moves are spell binding and strong. He can sing, that talent is not as strong as his dance.
