Empathy|| Jasper has a limited for of empathy, able to sense the deepest desire of a person just by touching them. This can be prevented rather easily by someone who knows what he's trying to do by blocking him out with other powerful thoughts
Self-Sustenance|| When feeding off of many or particularly strong desires, the prince can go long periods of time without sleep, food, and drink with few to no side effects.
Enhanced Strength|| Rather self explanatory, he gains strength from power of the desire. The stronger the desire, the stronger he is.
Migraines|| Because of the mental bond between the prince and someone he's feeding off of, if someone he's linked to gets injured he's hit by a severe headache. Depending on the severity of the injury, it could at best last minutes, and at worst days.

Jasper is a well built young man, standing at 5'11" he's tall and lean yet still has a decent amount of muscle. His snow white hair falls just past his shoulders, standing out against his dusty brown skin. He dresses himself rather extravagantly, wearing a gold chain wrapped along his neck, keeping one end clipped to his ear and the other on a weight he lets dangle at his feet. He wears white robes with a loose fitting tan and green tunic, held together by a thick gold belt. White open toed sandals coil half way up his calf, rising up just below his shorts.

The prince's otherwise perfect skin is interrupted on his back by a large scar, stretching from the top of his right shoulder down to his hip. Although the scar is quite old, it never fully healed, leaving an ugly dark mark. Serving as an embarrassing reminder of his past failures, a reminder he keeps covered at all costs. He has a piercing in the ear that isn't occupied, carrying a small gold hoop covered in intricate markings, etched in by one of the many master jewelers of Hyas.

The prince is a rather eccentric person, a foreigner who met him might even go so far as to deem him an unfit leader. Dancing around pressing topics, wasting time frequently hosting lavish feasts and festivals. He keeps his political and social lives very separate, and he strongly favors the latter. Declaring feasts on a whim to honor silly holidays or guests, much to the joy of his subjects, his guests aren't quite as thrilled.

However, he's anything but an incompetent leader. In fact, he meshes perfectly with the slow paced life of Hyas. Keeping important decisions behind the scenes so as to maintain the carefree day to day life of the Taurians. Releasing only the decisions that make him look good, though the ones that don't are few and far between, those he has chosen to make public have caused him to gain great popularity among the citizens.

For many, Jasper's behavior is impossible to understand. Changing his mind back and forth like a light switch until he finally settles on one, even then he's not likely to tell you what he chose. Keeping his decisions to himself until he knows for sure that they work out. Fearing that if it doesn't go as planned, he'll be hated by everyone, seen as nothing but a failure.

Despite his open and friendly nature, Jasper cares little for the outsiders, putting his country and the people he cares about first. Making the choices that benefit them the most with little regard for the well being of others. He'll use and manipulate people he doesn't care for to his advantage, not feeling the slightest bit guilty when he does, feeling as if it's nothing more than a game.

Money || A very self-indulgent person, money is one of the things Jasper values most. Despite having amassed quite the wealth over the years, he can be quite stingy when it comes to spending.
Books || Jasper has an obsession with the things, snatching up everything that piques his interest for his personal collection. His tastes are quite varied, holding everything from expensive first editions of classics to books from obscure authors worth next to nothing.

Waste || One of the major taboos of Taurian society, they place high value on using everything you take. This goes doubly so for food, making it a great insult to leave any part of a meal uneaten.
Mess || An extremely neat individual, if there's one thing he absolutely can't stand it's filth. Whether it's on himself or otherwise, he'll do his best to change it quickly.

Wise || Like the other Taurian rulers before him, the prince is wise beyond his years. A gift that has contributed to his prospering country.
Strategy || Since he was young, Jasper always had a knack for strategy. Dominating in both games like chess and battle planning.
Swordplay || Sparring with his father from the age of five, the prince learned from the best. Focused mostly in technique, he's light on his feet and quite agile.

Collecting || Jasper's guilty pleasure, he spends a lot of his spare time picking up random trinkets for his collection.
Parties || If there's one thing all Taurians can agree on, it's that the parties and feasts are one of the best parts of living in Hyas.

Rejection || A socialite of sorts, to be hated and have nowhere to go is his biggest fear.
Fire || The stuff has terrified him since the accident, even in small amounts it makes him uneasy.

Insecure || Jasper has left behind a lot of the habits from his childhood, he's unsure of his own capabilities and overly self critical.
Trusting || Quick to form bonds and place faith in them, it's not a rare event for him to be double crossed.

It maybe hard to believe that the Taurian prince could have had a rough childhood. Between his joyful attitude and the riches he carries, he does a good job of hiding it. Born in the shadow of his high achieving older brother of five years, Jasper knew from the time he could speak that he was second best. His brother, Denham, not only excelled at his studies, but also had the gift given to all of the Taurian royalty, clairvoyance. The younger brother lacked this ability, he lacked any special ability in fact. So while Denham gained popularity with both their parents and subjects, his younger brother got none of this love.

It didn't take long for Jasper to grow sour towards his family, especially his brother who he blamed for his lack of attention. In an attempt to gain his fair share of the adoration, Jasper began to challenge his brother to sparring matches. Oblivious to his younger brother's intentions, Denham accepted every time, and each time allowing his brother to win. This went on until Jasper was 12, when he gained the confidence to challenge him publicly. Unaware that his brother had been faking his loses, Jasper was in for a surprise. Not willing to risk his image, Denham couldn't risk losing in front of his future subjects. The duel ended quickly, a single blow to Jasper's back. The cheers and laughter that followed still haunt him to this day.

With a wounded back and pride, Jasper fled Llyn, travelling to a small town called Exeter in the far east of Hyas. It was there he met a group of citizens unlike any of the content ones he had met before, the residents of Exeter had a disdain for the current leaders as strong as his own. Ten years prior, after the elder prince predicted that there would one day be an uprising in the town, all aid from the government had been cut off. Now with a valuable pawn, Jasper was taken in by the village elder, an eccentric old man by the name of Slade. Under the influence of Slade, the young boy's distaste for his parents soon turned to full blown hatred.

Two years after he originally moved to the village, Slade and several of the other villagers left on their semiannual trip to the capital. However, a week later when they should have returned, someone else showed up. It was one of the Taurian royal guard, bearing bad news. The villagers and Slade had died on their trip, and they took half of Llyn with them. Burnt to the ground, the rest of the Taurian royal family dead, leaving Jasper the sole heir. That very day he set off for Llyn, assuming the role that should have belonged to his brother at the mere age of 14, and he hasn't looked back since.
