Javier is a younger son in a large, noble, family. He carries himself as though he is entitled to the good opinions of the general populace.
He is _entitled_ to the respect and adulation of the rest of the populace. Though he will not be able to inherit the benefits of the family name, he knows he is entitled to all those benefits. His ability to handle blades gives him the confidence that he deserves the natural respect his family name demands. He values the blade more than the person. His blades are highly personal possessions and he takes meticulous care to ensure they always look their best and perform their best. He takes poor swordsmanship as a personal insult and endeavours to either teach a person to handle a blade or remove their ability to try if they refuse to learn.
A set of functional, but ornate, rapiers. A dozen daggers holstered in dual bandoleers. Multiple sets of high fashion clothing. All the polish and cloths needed to ensure his blades maintain their highest look and functionality. Whetstones and oil. Brushes, cologne and anything required to ensure he always looks his best.
Javier grew up in a noble family. He always had the best in life. He is highly educated. He has always had the ability to focus well on learning and understanding the academic thought process. It was only after his fencing master cut his face that he learned to focus on the physical learning as much. He rededicated himself to showing that same master that he is the better swordsman. He focused for years on the domination of the blade. He entered competitions to prove his mastery of the blade. But that wasn't enough. Soon he found underground dueling where injury, and death, may result. He pushed himself to be the best because he might die if he wasn't. During the effort to find the underground Javier found himself fascinated by the lower class. He continued to find ways to stay involved in the lower aspects of the hive society. He began to enjoy the random dueling he could find in the lower circles. Javier enjoys the constant tension of the potential fight. He pursues situations where a simple look might end in crossed blades. Because of this he often found himself in the conflicted gang territories. Hoping for the opportunity to display his skills. He despises gun fights and has developed the knowledge of the various gangs to avoid because of that. For a noble, his knowledge of the gang relationships is extensive.
