Description

The Vampire Prince Nathaniel
Image
"Come lie down with me, love, I'll help you forget that anything else exists. . ."

Full Name:
Xanthos Nathaniel Griffiths

Nickname:
Since the age of about two thousand Xanthos began going by his middle name, Nathaniel. He found it a lot simpler to go by instead of his Greek first name Xanthos. He doesn't like nicknames of any sort. They get beneath his skin and irk him to no end. However, unless told otherwise, he expects everyone, except his dear friend, to call him Prince Nathaniel.

Gender:
Male
Age:
"My real age? Oh dear, a very touchy subject..." In all honesty Nathaniel is 7, 659 years old. Looks however? He seems to be around the age of twenty-four or twenty-three.

Image
Appearance in Description:

Being a vampire and immortal, Nathaniel has ungodly, devilishly good looks that can bring a woman to her knees. Even before becoming a vampire he was a fairly attractive man, and this he knew and now knows all too well. You'll always find him walking at his full height of 6'1", stride confident and sure. If his towering height doesn't intimidate you, maybe his stature will. Nathaniel has broad, rounded shoulders that lead down to long arms that are thick with nicely corded muscle. His arms lead upward to a defined neck then down to a wide expansion of chest; looking as if he was chiseled from stone. He's a rather big health nut, and keeps himself in shape at all costs. Even immortals must keep themselves in shape here and there, though he will never age, grant you.

Nathaniel has sharply defined facial features, to his disliking at times. His nose is rather large, but not to where it takes up his whole face, and slightly pointed. His lips are full and very light pink. He has a tendency to lick his bottom lip, which catches most females eye. Women themselves comment on his lips, saying that they "look so kissable," and most women he has kissed are never short to gush about how good a kisser he is. His jawline, like his shoulders, is broad to a certain extent, prominent. That jawline of his, on his lazy days, is covered in a light five o'clock shadow. And on the weeks he's lazy when it comes to shaving, he even has the makings of a beard; he's able to grow facial hair rather quickly, a vampiric trait. His eyes when he was human so many years ago were a warm chocolate brown color. Now, however, those eyes are the color of melting, liquid silver. It seems that as you gaze into them they swirl and captivate you, holding a certain warmth that is almost comical. Because, you see, the Vampire Prince radiates anything but warmth. His eyes seem to be able to bore right through you to your soul, like he sees everything, your deepest, darkest secrets. . .Your past, leaving you exposed. Below those breathing-taking eyes, on his lips, he wears his signature, wickedly charming grin of a predator that sends girls raging with longing and lust.

As for hair, it's really hard to say. Basically, it is a extreme dirty blonde, in some light. When he was younger it was sandy blonde, but now having been frozen in his early twenties, older it's getting much darker. In some light it looks dirty blonde, others a light brown; when it's wet it looks dark chocolate in color, almost black. Keeping his well-to-do, princely image, Nathaniel likes styling said hair in a couple different ways. One is where he runs a cream he made himself through his hair, keeping it kempt, spiked towards the front and around the crown which is odd for his day in time. Another, most commonly seen, is where he simply lets it dry, running a comb through it. It leaves his hair curled around the ends. An effortless look that all-in-all he can work with ease, another good thing of being a vampire. For attire, Nathaniel is a prince, after all. Special made, tailored suits when in public, amongst his people. However, when residing in his castle with his dear friend, he goes more casual. A pair of simple slacks and a button down suites him fine. On his right ring finger he wears an old ring with his families crest on it. He's had it for centuries.

Personality:
self·ish/ˈselfiSH/
Adjective:
(of a person, action, or motive) Lacking consideration for others; concerned chiefly with one's own personal profit or pleasure.

You don't live 7, 659 years without going through much change mentally, to say the least. When Xanthos was a human, completely mortal, mundane, he was much, much different. You could say. . .He cared. Anyone you spoke to about Xanthos Griffiths would describe him as being honest, hard-working and all together a good person. He done things selflessly for the well-being of others; a giver and certainly not a taker. But when you lose a wife and die only to be reborn into a life of immortality, it-. . .It changes you. Becoming a vampire changed things in turn for worst in Nathaniel's instance. He became hard, a truly selfish being. And he still is. In all honesty he only cares for himself and absolute power. He does not care who he has to step on or "kill," if you will, to get what he wants. He's competitive and even though he's lived for centuries, is still a man. When he sees something he desires he will not stop until he gets it. Being a vampire has only boosted his confidence. He feels no one is better than him, no one can beat him.

He his cocky and blunt. If he has a problem with you, he will clearly state. Centuries ago Nathaniel did not have a filter upon his mouth. He would say things carelessly, and it tended to get him in trouble. However, with age comes wisdom, and he has much age behind him. He has a clever tongue, able to smooth-talk his way out of practically any situation. One look into his swirling silver eyes has the mere mortal mesmerized. Behind having the tongue of the devil, Xanthos is also a physical person. Meaning to persuade more than half the time Nathaniel uses physical contact as a resort. He likes to touch. Call it a predator or vampire trait, he seems to have better luck doing so. You see, he carries around a mysterious air that draws women to him like a moth to a flame. Though he adores the fact he can make mortals do his bidding, that mundane women lust after him endlessly, it would be a lie to say he doesn't like a good chase. He is in fact a womanizer. Nathaniel is actually looking forward to the day he comes face to face with his blood bond. Not only will it mean more power, it will also mean a challenge. Ever since the age of three thousand Xanthos Nathaniel has never really lusted over a woman nor her blood; he does not plan on starting once again.

Behind being conceded and an absolute asshole, there is small good parts of Nathaniel. He is constant. His personality hardly ever waverers anymore. You will not find him one day being friendly, and the next a complete shrewd. He is how he is now. Strong, determined and actually a good listener if he ever takes to seat, and have a decent conversation with you; he use to be excellent at giving advice. Nowadays he rarely converses with humans, looking at them only as play-things. Beneath his thick, rocky outer-layer is a fairly good person. Nathaniel keeps people at arms-length, though, refusing to ever let anyone in, especially a woman. The closest he got was Edelia, and you see the trouble that got him into? Power-lust took over and all was lost. Some would say Xanthos is a lost-cause, but the question is is there a woman out there strong-willed enough to see past his princely, vampiric facade? Or is there really nothing more to the wicked, Vampire Prince?

Theme Song:
All This Time
by One Republic
Six on the second hand till new year's revolutions
There's just no question what this man should do
Take all the time lost, all the days that I cost
Take what I took and give it back to you

All this time we were waiting for each other
All this time I was waiting for you
We got all these words, can't waste them on another
So I'm straight in a straight line running back to you

I don't know what day it is, I had to check the paper
I don't know the city but it isn't home
You say I'm lucky to love something that loves me
But I don't as I could be wherever I roam

All this time we were waiting for each other
All this time I was waiting for you
Got all these words, can't waste them on another
So I'm straight in a straight line running back to you, yeah

Oh, running back to you
Oh, running back to you
Yeah

Oh, I would travel so far
I would travel so far
To get back where you are

All this time we were waiting for each other
All this time I was waiting for you
Got all this love, can't waste it on another
So I'm straight in a straight line running back to you
Straight in a straight line running back to you
Straight in a straight line running back to you
Straight in a straight line running back to you

The song was winding down to an end, and Artrix was eager to get away from the man holding her, hovering uncomfortably close, hand resting a little to low to be merely friendly. She was almost excited to get off the dacefloor, and maybe send the man for some wine before strolling off on her own through the gardens.

But that's not exactly what happened. As the song ended, she felt a hand wrap around her fingers firmly, but gently and suddenly, she twirled softly into someone else's arms. The man looked upset, and Willa gave him a small wave goodbye, grateful to be rid of him. The music started again, this time lower and smoother, and she looked up at her savior. When she saw him, she couldn't help gasp lightly under her breath. It was the prince himself. Dancing with her, of all people. However, unlike most women, she wasn't overjoyed, and falling all over herself for his attention. In fact, she felt a little frightened, even though on the outside, she was cool and calm. She knew his reputation with women, and she had heard the stories about him.

He looked down into her eyes with his own, silver and swirling, a devilish grin on his lips. Something about his beautiful eyes made her uncomfortable. The way they were focused on her, with such intensity, she felt exposed and vunerable. She glanced at the women around her, staring at her with envy in their eyes.

Did other women like this feeling? She looked back into his eyes and felt it again. That feeling, like she might as well be standing before him naked with a book of her past and darkest secrets lying open for him to read. It was frustrating and mesmorizing at the same time. They spun across the floor, not speaking until he pulled her close.

"Forgive me for how rude I was back there, stealing you away from the man who is courting you." Just the sound of his voice triggered alarms in her mind, because even it was beautiful and perfect. This is a man I need to be careful with. She thought to herself, mentally deciding she would refuse him in any way possible. The powerful, arrogant, good-looking men always caused the most trouble. She allowed herself to flirt and laugh with the lesser-types, but men like the Prince were not to be toyed with. She'd made the mistake of falling for someone like him once, and was never going back.

All these thoughts coursed through her at once, while, on the outside, she merely smiled her prettiest smile up at the Prince and shook her head gently. "I don't even know his name. I came alone." She answered, working her hardest not to stutter under the intensity of his eyes. Why did women like this? The feeling she'd had when she'd first been walking through the castle was back. There was something glorious about the moment, making her want to grasp it hard and never let go, but there was also something unsettling, like she'd just walked into something she had no control of.

Prince Nathaniel

Though Nathaniel had prepared himself for this moment years ago, he wasn't exactly sure what he would be dealt with. Instead of starting to immediately swoon, this dazzling woman before him stayed calm and collected; besides the gentle gasp she gave beneath her breath that the mere mortal was not suppose to hear. Nonetheless it caused his grin to become more pronounced, exposing dimples that left his masculine face looking rather boyish. He took a deep, unneeded breath, taking in her scent that caused a light burning sensation to tingle down his throat; he hadn't felt the sting of blood lust in ages. It startled him but he did not portray such a thing on his face, remaining stoic once his grin slowly faded.

He spun the young woman once more before bringing her back in. This was his blood bond most definitely. Time to be a good boy. he thought sarcastically, keeping his hands at a respectable level; his left hand lightly at her waist, his right hand gently grasping her left as they moved across the ballroom floor as if they were floating. The Prince wondered if his gaze was starting to get to her yet. He finally broke eye contact just briefly to admire her mask, if that is what you would call it. It was a work of art, and Nathaniel decided it had to have been done by an expert hand. It looked as if frosty ice had settled upon her delicate face, and the diamonds, though clearly the prince could tell they were imitation, pulled everything together nicely.
He met her gaze once more, and when she smiled he simply raised both his eyebrows. Her actions were so nonchalant, easy, it was truly surprising, and that smile of hers was lovely, though he would not admit it to himself.

"I don't even know his name. I came alone." Nathaniel let an expression cross his features to portray the false emotion of "shock."

"Really?" he asked curiously, gazing round the ballroom for only a split moment. "Mmm. . .I'm sure any guy in here would love you have you on his arm." Prince Nathaniel commented, exposing straight white teeth in a dazzling smile. "If you don't mind me asking," he went on, twirling her out once more elegantly, then bringing her back in, grinning wickedly as the movement fanned the sweet scent of her blood. "What is your name? I don't remember ever seeing you out, and being the prince, I should know such things." he teased softly, gaze falling intently on her icy, blue eyes once again.

Willa watched his eyebrows raise and resisted the urge to raise on of her own. Clearly he wasn't used to women acting calm around him. And here she had been, praying that he couldn't hear the furious pounding of her heart against her ribs everytime his eyes met hers. Despite his reputation, the Prince was charming, spinning her gently, keeping his hands in the right places, and smiling in a way that seemed both inviting and wicked at the same time.

"Really?" He said, breaking eye-contact to glance around. "Mmm... I'm sure any guy in here would love you have you on his arm." She smiled lightly. She was used to being called beautiful, and usually hated it, however, it was not every night a prince said it.

"Oh I doubt that." She said rather bluntly. "Men don't usually like a woman who speaks her mind." Her eyes met his, figuring that he was the type of man who didn't care what type of woman she was, so long as she was a woman. At least for one night, before he threw her away. It was how his kind worked. She was all too familiar with it.

"If you don't mind me asking," he went on smoothly, twirling her again gently, and using that mixed-signals grin again. She was having a hard time reading him and it both frustrated and excited her. "What is your name? I don't remember ever seeing you out, and being the prince, I should know such things."

At this she smiled with a gentle nod, thinking silently what name she should give him. What if he liked her too much, or wanted her for later and decided to call on her? Should she give him her real name, or one of her nicknames? Was he to be trusted? "No, you wouldn't have, Prince." She said with a slight shrug. "My sister and I just moved here a few years ago and I don't get much time out. I'm usually giving painting lessons or selling my flowers, while she's the one who runs most of the errands around town." He might as well know she was a commoner. She didn't see any point in hiding it, and maybe it would keep him from trying to chase her for however short a time he was interested. Seeing as he now knew that, she figured there wasn't much harm in giving her real name.

"My name is Artrix Snow." She said, doing her best to gaze as intently into his eyes as he was into hers, showing him she wasn't intimidated. "I go by my the first of my two middle names most often though. Willow, or Willa for short." She smiled as the music wound down and the song stopped and yet, they still stood there in the dancefloor.

She glanced around her, wondering if she should do as she was going to with the other man, send him for wine, and slip off on her own. However, he was a Prince, and she had a feeling he would find her regardless. Around them, people were gaily drinking and laughing, the clock struck midnight, and she sighed, almost sad that the event would end in a few short hours.

The musicians were getting set up for another song, and she glanced at the Prince. "Another song or no?" She asked, wondering if he'd rather walk in the gardens, or even just leave her, put off by her refusal to swoon as he was so used to.
