Description: Although only one year Lorenzo's junior, Raphael was blessed with endearingly boyish features. His eyes are large and green like the lush pastures of a farmland, mirroring his emotions quite freely. He has a tangle of sandy blond hair, which amplifies his youthful appearance, and a peach colored complexion that never seems to lose its luster. Much like Lorenzo, he has a towering stature with long and masculine limbs, his of whose are especially brawny from fencing and swordplay. He has a very handsome and ideal bone structure for future offspring, which makes him another sought after eligible bachelor. He often wears a smile, bearing his straight, pearly teeth, which are bordered by his thin mouth. He also has an adorable but very slight dimple in his square chin.
Personality: Raphael can fall into category of Prince Charming with his chivalrous ways and skill of swordfighting. He has an easily charming personality: playful by nature, careful with his words and mannerisms, and very much the ladies' man. His etiquette is nothing less than what is expected of a prince, as is his courtesy and respect toward people,
especially women. He is known for his kindness and generosity, which is perhaps why Lord Capulet approved of him as Gabriella's suitor. He is a charitable and well respected young man with a seemingly impeccable reputation, which he takes much pride in maintaining. He is also very intelligent, but lacks in military strategic skill, though he is quite gifted in the art of swordfighting.
History: Raphael Escalus was a middle child in a family of six, the cousin of a royal heir, and often overlooked. When he and Paris were small, they often played with the Capulet children, and thus were exposed to the noxious gossip regarding the Montague family. Though Raphael never understood why, he followed his family's demands not to associate with the Montague boys. As they grew older, both he and Paris were often compared to them, and between their family and the Capulets, spoken about with great pride. This ultimately led to their rivalry, though it was mostly overshadowed by the notorious Montague-Capulet feud. Following the death of Juliet, who was betrothed to Paris, his heartbroken cousin surrendered the crown. It was then that young Raphael became assertive and took the place of his dear relative, and it paid off rather nicely. Raphael was well liked throughout Heromore, and demonstrated that he was a responsible and worthy heir by keeping his reputation spotless. He often visited the most impoverished towns, where he gave generous donations and helped families in need. He was popular with the women, but not for the same reasons as Lorenzo. At an early age, he trained in fencing and swordplay, as it was his ambition to become a knight. At the age of 18 he was selected to become a suitor to Gabriella, long before his royal streak. He fell in love almost instantly with the girl, for he felt they were similiar, being they both had a gentle demeanor. Unlike Lorenzo, Raphael has always wished to marry the girl, but keeps a respectful distance when under the watchful eye of the people.
Hobbies: His passions reside in fencing, swordfighting, horseback riding and reading. Most of his days are spent leisurely, unless an opportunity arises where he can offer a hand to the suffering people of Heromore.
Likes: Akin to Lorenzo, he too enjoys horseback riding, but he owns an entire stable and doesn't just favor a particular stallion or mare. He likes working with his hands, in fields and in the market, assisting those in need, and even helping his own maidservants, especially when they prepare dinner. He also likes to travel and collect exquisite pieces of clothing, as well as attending parties and celebrations, more specifically those held in his honor.
Dislikes: He absolutely loathes dishonesty and corruption, especially that which seems to run rampant in both Capulet and Montague houses.
