Appearance| Short, straight blond hair, deep blue eyes, and an ever-slight slouch that gives off the perfect air of arrogance without losing that sense of laziness in being cool, this 5'10" young man is one of the most stereotypically contradicting people the world could meet. He's lanky with noodle-thin limbs and a flat torso, unfashionable because he wears whatever the hell he feels like, and talks to his own shadow. Okay, that last one's pretty weird, but that thing's alive! Regardless, he actually looks pretty good if he ever dresses up, but it's impossible to get him to smile. He usually doesn't even frown! It's just a straight face nearly 24/7, but for some reason the girls in his old school went wild for his unapproachability. (They need to lay off the teen dramas.)
Personality| There's really only one adjective necessary to describe Eren, but three will be used instead: Depressing, irritable, vengeful, destructive, a little condescending... and bad with numbers. Due to such ease in describing his demeanor and cognitive skills, just about everything people know about him is learned from his actions. All others really say about him is that he's "like an emo kid, but a million times worse, and without all the suicide."
His curiosity also ends up a major problem with him. He's rather intelligent in most subjects (except maths and his alternate language classes... and gym, of course), but his desire for hands-on experience gets the best of him too many times. (That said, he promptly forgot quite a bit of all that "math stuff" whenever summer started. It was nearly impossible to retain it compared to learning about a poisonous frog by dissecting it... and licking it... and going to the hospital because he licked it. Thankfully, and apparently miraculously to the doctors, he recovered very quickly.)

Weapon| Ritter wields his element as his weapon, his own shadow taking form to complete a synergistic team with Eren. Obviously stronger under the shroud of darkness and damn well weakened in the light, Eren uses it to augment his physical abilities at night, too. It's only able to take a more liquid-like form in the daytime and be used like a whip or projectile, but at the later hours it can take any shape Eren wants it to, even turning completely solid or letting Eren safely transport himself through it. Overall, he's a force to be reckoned with in the shade.
History| Raised in the Underworld for the first few years of his life by his father Erebus and spending his time playing with the souls of the deceased, Eren Ritter was given a bath in the river Lethe and sent to remain with his human mother. As such, he can't remember anything from before he was four years old. From there he was raised like a normal kid in Idaho. He was easily shut up by Reno 911 instead of Sesame Street, he learned English since he didn't need to say anything in the Underworld, and he made few friends, if any. He was also pushed into playing association football by his mother as a child, too. Completely normal, if "my child's grown up asocial with no real friends or good influences" is normal. Oh, and don't forget the fact that his father was none other than darkness itself, and Eren doesn't know him.
When he was about fourteen, though, he could hear his shadow talking to him. He couldn't dismiss it, it was just a voice in his head. He kept it to himself, though, so not to worry his mom. Overall, uneventful short life.
