Personality: Sayako is a mostly caring person but has an obsession to be a mother or at least act like one to the brink of psychosis. She will try to take care of minors as if they were her own children, protect them (even if with ultraviolent force) or even keep them sick to take care of them more. It all comes down to this due to losing her mother at an early age and losing her infant child.
Background: Sayako grew up in a village that belonged to her clan. Her father was the clanleader with the title of king, giving Sayako the title of princess. But they were the type of royal family people would expect since they were not much richer than the average farmer. When she was six, soldiers attacked the village claiming to purge it of demons. They found no more than simple farmers but nevertheless tried to kill them all. She watched her mother be killed while her father was out defending the village. Her father was able to fend off the soldier but at a large toll, half of the clan had perished in the attack. Sayako soon grew up and got lots of training from her father so she could protect her loved ones. She did all the work a man would do and grew up to be a muscular young woman. At 18, she had a child with a childhood friend but then they were attacked by soldiers from a neighboring region. She could defeat the soldiers with ease but among the 11 deaths were her lover and her child. In the present, she left the village to go to Kyoto which was only half a day away by horse, so that she could talk to the shogun about a possible alliance and trade pact. Now she and her horse are staying in Kyoto during the negotiations.
Social background: Not poor but rather average.
