“Hello!”

The receptionist jumped, glasses askew, and several strands of hair escaping her tight bun and falling over the side of her face. Jeremy had intentionally been as quiet and unnoticeable as he could as he entered the building, wanting to see such a reaction from the uptight receptionist at the front desk.

“Oh, goodness me,” she said, straightening her bun once more and looking up at the teen.

Jerry had to hold back a laugh, though his cheeky smile made it evident that the action was intentional.

“I’m Jerry Ostrander, very nice to meet you,” he continued, holding out his hand.

The lady’s eyes twinkled. Grabbing hold of his hand in a surprisingly strong handshake, she replied,”Nice to meet you too, Jerry.” Scrolling through her computer, she found his name. “Ah, Jeremy. Your room is 505, and—“

“I have the key right here,” said Jerry, taking it out of his pocket to show the lady.

“Excellent. The elevator’s to your right.”

“Thank you, mam.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My God this place is fancy, Jerry thought as he entered Room 505, dropping his little sack of things on the large queen size bed. Doing a quick 360 around the room, Jerry was quickly attracted to the windows that took up an entire wall. The landscape of palm trees, as well as the enormous theme park behind it made the teen's heart pound. This is more nerve wracking than I thought. Roomie`s not here yet... Alan Kindler. That’s a nice name.
Jerry wondered for the millionth time what his roommate looked like, how he acted. How could the people possibly know who his soulmate is? It seemed a bit far-fetched to Jerry, but, hey, what’s he got to lose?
Wiping his sweaty hands on his jeans, Jerry took a deep breath, leaning against a wall. This was his life now, no going back home. This was the first time he’d been this long away from his family since the incident. Not that he couldn’t handle it. Of course he could. Of course he could...
Whatever. Don’t dwell on it, Jerry. The boy looked at the clock that stood up on the mantel piece. 3:05. I’ve got time, might as well take a look around...
Jerry headed back out the door of Room 505, making sure the plastic room key he was given stayed in his pocket. He looked around the corridor, wondering where to head first, and who he would meet along the way.
Alison Pleasance
She didn't know what to do since she didn't have a car to drive, pacing back and forth she wondered what she could do. Smiling as the other kids almost ran into her while play a game of freeze or regular tag. Saying hello to them as they waved, she ran to mother rose who was taking care of them to see if she would give her a ride to the school.
"Mother Rose?" She said in her usual calm, quiet, and sweet voice. Mother Rose looked from the window to her, Alison walked over to the window where mother Rose was sitting. "Yes dear?" Smiling sweetly, even though she felt like crying at the moment, Mother Rose loved her kids and would hate for them to go when they were adopted, but, she knew it was for the best. Alison loved her and she was old enough to go out in the world on her own and find her own dreams and motivations.
"I wanted to see if you could give me a ride?" She couldn't wait but, then again she was scared and worried, she didn't know how to feel. "Okay Dary, I'll be down in a minute." Alison hugged the middle aged woman, and quickly ran down stairs, she grabbed her luggage, opened, and walked out the door. Walking towards the car she opened the door and put her luggage in the back seat, she got in the passenger seat and watched as Mother Rose walked down the steps and got in the car.
Alison jumped in excitement as the car pulled out the driveway, waving bye to Clair who was the second in charge taking care of the kids. "Thank you for taking me there Mother." She smiled sweetly at her and looked out the window to the passenger seat, looking at Mother nature do magic to the trees beside her. Looking at the front of her she could see the school from the distance and smiled in excitement as the car stopped. She hugged Mother, got out the car, and walked to the door of the back seat. Grabbing her luggage she walked only a little bit away before turning and watching Mother drive away, she watched until she couldn't see it anymore.
Alison continued to walk towards the school, she wondered who her roommate was, walking towards the receptionists desk,"What is your name dear?" Looking at the woman with the glasses that was working behind the desk,"Alison mam, Alison Pleasance." She gave her a room number and some more things,"Thank you." Bowing to the woman at the desk, she turned around and walked towards the elevator and walked to her room,"Wow it's a very decent size." Putting her luggage on the ground, she jumped and landed in the soft and comfy bed.
Alan Kindler
He didn't understand, how did he look like Aladdin? Shaking his head a little he didn't think that was even important at the moment, he just wanted to go and see how this school of magic played out. Walking out of the street onto the schools grounds, he held one bag over his shoulder and the other one with his hand. Looking around he went up to a desk that said 'receptionists' he leaned against the counter.
She smiled so sweetly at him,"Hello darling and what's your name?" He smiled as she was so polite to him,"My name is Alan Kindler mam." She typed his name and clicked on his name that showed on the computer screen,"Alan Kindler, here you go sug'." She gave him the paper for his room and the key to it,"Thank you very much mam." Nodding to her as he walked off, he walked to the elevator. Seeing that someone was walking inside he ran quickly to the elevator and almost fell inside, laughing in embarrassment he stood up straight and waited for the elevator to go to his floor.
Looking for his room number he looked down at his paper, he wondered what Jeremy is like, he wondered how he acted towards people. He hoped he wasn't a rude person or they wouldn't get along at all because, Alan was never a rude person, not even if he disliked the person he would say mean things to them to hurt their feelings. Finally walking to his room he unlocked the door and was flabbergasted when he saw how fancy the room looked, he couldn't even walk in because, it was hard to take in. "Wow!" He exclaimed it accidentally slipped out his mouth and never was suppose to be said. Looking over at the bed he saw that his roommate was already here but, he wasn't present in the room at the moment.
Getting to his own world and out, he smiled as he walked over to the bed and jumped on it. It felt so soft and brand new he laid down on it, if this was filled with feathers he would sink into a world of softness. Sighing as he imagined the feeling of him sinking and it felt so soft and very comfy.
Jerry swallowed dryly. While he was exploring the common’s room, he caught a glimpse of a teen entering his room. That must be him...
He knew there shouldn’t be anything to worry about, nothing to lose, but his heart felt heavy in his chest, like it was weighing him down. “Come on, Jerry, you can do this...” he said to himself, wiping his sweaty hands on his jeans. He strode purposefully through the corridor and stopped outside Room 505. Letting out a breath, and hoping things will turn out better than his pessimistic attitude was telling him it would, Jerry slipped the key card into the lock and pushed the door open.
There Alan lay on the bed, looking blissfully comfortable in the mass of blanket and pillows. Before Jerry could stop himself, he snorted. Snorted. The boy’s expression had reminded him of his cat back home. Self control, Jerry! Honestly...
Turning a bit red, he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. “Uh... hi. I’m Jerry,” he said, hoping Alan wouldn’t consider him too weird. “Nice to meet you,” he said instinctively, while his eyes did a quick one over of Alan. Dark skin, cool haircut, and from where he lay on the bed, Jerry knew he was taller than him. Interesting...
Relaxing a bit against the opposite wall, he asked, “And you’re Alan, right? Alan Kindler?”
Jerry hoped he wasn’t acting too abrupt. His sisters always said he flew past introductions like a bullet.
Alan Kindler
How was it so soft, all covers were the same but, how could it be so soft? He kept repeating that over and over again in his head, it was as if he was a sleep but, he was fully awake. Just laying down in this sheet of soft fabric. He wondered if he took it everywhere with him, nothing would complete in all the softness that this cover had.
Smiling as opened his eyes, he felt like he was floating in the clouds, well that was until he heard a noise. Jumping a little feeling like he was falling from the bed he caught himself, stand up quickly and turning towards his roommate. Laughing out of embarrassment than out of total humor. "I-, Hello Jeremy, it's nice to meet you." Smiling politely at his roommate he rubbed his arm a little, looking at his roommate. He couldn't help but, to stare at him for a while, he didn't notice until he heard complete silence in the room.
"Um, h-how was your trip to here? My trip was okay." Smiling again he looked away from Jeremy for a bit and looked back at him waiting for his response. Not wanting to continue on without getting an answer first. Jeremy reminded him of someone but, be could put his finger on it. Sitting back down on the bed he kicked his feet against the beds covers.
Jerry smiled. Alan seemed nice. Not bad for a roomie. His staring made him a bit nervous though. He was about to say something when Alan beat him to it.
“Um, h-how was your trip to here? My trip was okay.”
“Long,” Jerry laughed out. “I had to take the Greyhound yesterday to get here in time from Chicago.”
It had been a sore journey, if nothing else. The bus only stopped for gas once a day, and Jerry hadn’t been able to feel his legs by the time he reached his destination. His feet felt wobbily just at the thought. He walked over to the chair beside the bed and sat down, feeling somewhat more at home with the new bedroom.
Jerry’s thoughts turned back to Alan. Weren’t they all supposed to be based off of Disney characters? Jerry’s sisters had always been comparing his looks and personality to the protagonist of Toy Story, but who’s was Alan’s? He took him in a bit more, studying his posture, his face. Then it clicked.
“Aladdin! You’re Aladdin aren’t you?” Jerry asked grinning. He mentally patted himself on the back. Really? Congratulating yourself, Jerry? He could practically here his sister Reena telling him. He ignored it. Jerry had never been able to suppress pride, nor had he really felt a reason to.
Alan nodded at Jeremy's response,"Sorry to hear that it was long." Looking up and noticing he moved to the chair beside the bed. Laughing a little when he asked if he was Aladdin,"Yes, I am Aladdin. How can you tell? By how you act I'm guessing, hm Andy from toy story?" His personality was sweet but, a little funny, and that reminded him of Andy,"It's going to be kind of weird you know," Stopping himself before he could continue,"That we have to share a bed, isn't that weird?" Looking away from the boy that reminded him of Andy from toy story.
It wasn't so weird, it was weird that he had to share a room with a person he doesn't really know. He used shared a room with his sister all the time, he always found it quite funny that she was older than him and still afraid of the dark. Other times he tried to sleep in his own room, but when he does his sister would always find her way in there. Oh how she missed her right about now but, he has to stay strong for her.
He looked back at Jeremy who still sitting in the chair, smiling as he still kicked his feet on the bed in a slow motioning pace.
"By how you act I'm guessing, hm Andy from toy story?"
Jerry's grin grew even wider. "Nope," he said popping the "p", "Same movie though. I'm supposed to be Woody. I guess I can kind of see the resemblance..."
"It's going to be kind of weird, you know. Having to share a bed?" Alan continued.
Jerry blinked. In all his close inspection of the room he failed to realize there was only one bed in the room. He turned a bit red, twiddling his thumbs. There wasn't even a couch that could be used as an alternative.
Um... somebody's screwed up the room arrangements?
"Wow, that is pretty weird," Jerry said, rubbing his neck. Jerry had only once shared a bed with his younger siblings, and that turned out to be a horrific experience. He had hoped to never repeat it again, let alone with a complete stranger... But the floor looked seriously uncomfortable...
Well, can't let this ruin your day. Sucking in a nervous breath, he looked back at Alan. "Uh... which side of the bed do you want?"
Alan had laughed a little bit at his wrong guessing but, at least he had the movie right,"Oh, Woody." He nodded to himself as he stopped kicking the bed with the back of his feet like a bored little kid in the middle of summer.
When his room mate had ask him which side of the bed he would like to sleep on, he actually had to think about, though it was kind of weird sharing a bed with a stranger,"I'll take the right side, if that is not a problem." Saying that as he looked away a bit, staring at the wall then looking back at the stranger kindly.
He didn't have anything else to say, it was pretty awkward that they had to share a bed, probably they meant to put another bed in here, they just forgot to put another one in here. This room was bigger than his by a long shot might as well as just use it while he's here.
"That's fine. I'll take left then," Jerry said lamely, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. Well, this'll take a while to get used to.
Out of nowhere, Jerry felt his stomach growl. He realized he hadn't eaten since dinner yesterday. Jumping up, he headed to the fridge in the next room. As he walked, he asked Alan, "So where are you from?"
Grinning at the stuffed fridge, he took out a soda. "Want one?" he asked.
Alan laughed a little, he looked at him as he walked towards the fridge he didn't know the room had. Then he asked where he was from,"I'm from San Francisco, where are you from?" He said as he continued to kick his feet against the bed. Looking up when he asked if he wanted a soda,"Yes, and thank you for asking." He smiled at him then looked back down.
