--PLOT--

Set among the times of Dragon Age: Origins - The blight that threatens the lands of Ferelden has began once more. Since the last blight and victory, the Grey Wardens have been long forgotten and some denial of existence. Duncan, the leader of Fereldan's Grey Wardens has been watching over the lands for great deal of time waiting til the next blight to rise again. Sadly much has faded and with it many Grey Wardens have deceased as well leaving only three among them including himself in the whole lands. The Grey Warden has gained aid from the King of Ferelden who praises them greatly for their efforts and stories, gladly marching along side him thus marching to Ostagar to prepare for the great battle among there. The Grey Warden's and the King's men fought gallant and bravely fighting off many darkspawn that came about them but Duncan knew now that it would not be enough. This is when he knew he had to seek off new Wardens and recruits, One of each race to join the ranks and fight off the evil that approaches them. After collecting all six of the new recruits, taking them from the life they once known, Duncan and these new recruits wander back towards Ostagar to begin there new life as the new recruits of the Grey Wardens.

The roleplay begins when you and your "allies" (Other Wardens) have just arrived back at Ostagar upon meeting the King. Your character has met each other along the way if not by just a slight bit at least more so of acquaintances. The great battle is upon you when night hits and thus is when your big adventures begin. See how your character progressions and relationships change among Fereldan and go through your origins together. Note your character can die in this roleplay. Everyone will pass the initiation among drinking Darkspawn Blood. Main character's among the game will appear and be needed along the way. These include mainly Morrigan, Alistar, Lilianna, Sten, Oghren, and Wynne. Some characters we can do with out. So to explain, like Wynne, you have the choice to kill her off later among the story. Another character is Sten, you have the choice to just pass his cage or completely ignore the fact he is there letting him die among Lothering etc. However Oghren's part if we never get him will be NPC played for that part of the story if we never get him and depending on what path we get it will be the same situation.

--Roles--
--The wardens--
Human Noble (Reserved by Jabberjay13)
Surname - Cousland
Born to wealth and power second only to royalty, you find your training in both diplomacy and war put to the test when your father's castle is betrayed from within on the very night your elder brother leads the family's forces to war.

Magi (One Only) (Reserved by IronPhoenix)
Surname - Surana (Elven) or Amell (Human)
Gifted with a power considered dangerous by most, you have spent most of your life secluded in the remote tower of the Circle of Magi to be trained and watched closely by the dreaded Templars. Now your final test is upon you -- succeed and prove your strength or be slain.

City Elf
Surname - Tabris
You have always lived under the heavy thumb of your human overlords, but when a local lord claiming his privilege with the bride shatters your wedding day, the simmering racial tensions explode in a rain of vengeance.

Dalish Elf
Surname - Mahariel
Proud of your role as one of the last 'true elves', you have always assumed you would spend your life wandering with your clan... until a chance encounter with a relic of your people's past threatens to tear you away from everything you've known.

Dwarf Noble (Reserved by Me)
Surname - Aeducan
The favored child of the dwarven king, you proudly take up your first military command... only to learn that the deadly intrigues of dwarven politics can pose a greater danger than even that faced on the battlefield.

Dwarf Commoner (Reserved by AvalonNight)
Surname - Brosca
Born casteless in a land where rank is everything, bound as the lackey and thug of a local crime lord, you have spent your life invisible... until chance thrusts you into the spotlight, where you can finally prove whether you will be defined by your actions or your birth.
Note - When writing your history as a dwarf commoner, you do not win the last fight or so to speak your last fight would've been against Aeducan but remember this is where you are caught. (This is so the two histories do not contradict each other).

Canon Original characters are allowed to be made but keep to their lore to the point of their personality. Otherwise they will be npcs

What are natural hobbies that this character has. What does this character think of his or her own native lands and society, etc.

[b]-Appearance-[/b]
Just describe your character or what may be different among the image given. I do not require a lot seeing that you have an image but at least give me a good paragraph.

[b]-Class-[/b]
Warrior, Rogue, or Mage (Which are only Magi and no dwarf can be this.)

[b]-Specialization-[/b]
Choose 2 specialization for this class. If a specialization is a mod among DAO, link it. If you maybe have a different idea slightly from DAO's given selection. Please explain the two as you will need to with the originals.

[b]-History-[/b]
The history of your origin up to when you arrive at Ostagar. I can't stress this more to ask you to give me the a whole history of your race's origin perhaps in a bit of detail of what your choices were in situations that DAO had. Eventually know that it will still have to end in the same conflict that your own origin had. To expand upon this I want to see your creativity and have you make a backstory before the events that occur here. Basically explaining your relationship with everyone before the events and tragedies that occur. Please remember that the history should end when you arrive at Ostagar with the other new recruits.

Re: [OOC] Dragon Age: Origins

Sure - Sorry guys life has been busy for me but im still working on this roleplay.

Re: [OOC] Dragon Age: Origins

Can I reserve the mage?

Re: [OOC] Dragon Age: Origins

can i reserve the dwarf commoner role?

Re: [OOC] Dragon Age: Origins

I can reserve it, know I'm constructing the rules but i will need you to post between 2 days and take the character very seriously follow all rules when they are made.

I am thinking that each of us will take on one of the companion roles so we don't have to wait and fill the others and its less work from me to be the npc of all side companions that we may pick up.

Re: [OOC] Dragon Age: Origins

Hello!

I love DragonAge: Origins.

I was wondering if it would be possible for me to reserve the Human Noble spot?

Re: [OOC] Dragon Age: Origins

Yeah you can have specs at the beginning but for Blood Magic remember its forbidden and against the law so if you're choosing to reserve the Magi you'll just have to explain how you manged to be a blood mage without the circle finding out.

Re: [OOC] Dragon Age: Origins

Would it be possible to begin with a later learned specification such as Blood mage or Ranger if an explanation is given, im considering a Arcane warrior elf if that would be allowed.

Re: [OOC] Dragon Age: Origins

Thats not exactly true actually. Yes roles are specific but that doesn't exactly mean the character is made. You choose what the character is among/from the explanation and if you're creative you can expand on that little brief introduction for your history.(There wasn't anything other then a race a brief idea of what was going on that describes who your character is and by that i mean personality, beliefs, etc.) How the story plays out is specifically upon the actions people take as they play their roles, Hell one of the Grey Wardens could try to betray the others or so. Instead of one Grey Warden choosing how the actions that are given. Its more so that they have the freedom to say/do more. Also All in all a story could be layed out and plotted but its not fully said. Eventually all stories need a full plot to a ending and thats just what the players of a roleplay does. Perhaps YOU yourself do not enjoy fit roles in which you choose to play among a role but not EVERYONE is like that and some people may like full flexibility but just a heads up. You can look at it generally and maybe think its pretty straight forward and we'll be following one path but when you think of everyone including the six wardens chosen when you're left at the events of Ostagar. Where perhaps oh one Warden is rebellious and decides to go his own way for awhile or perhaps there is a little twist in which the human of cousland leaves immediately to kill howe or so.

Basically this type of RP is moreso a "What if" - where as what if six wardens were chosen, instead of game limitations, how would the story conclude? Who among the story would be killed completely. What kind of character progression might occur with six wardens? Honestly i think there is ALOT of fanfic material that one if better three people or more could do with this. Some events that really matter may be the same but actions and story could definately be twisted around.

Honestly I think you must see beyond a general perception before ranting on. Overall If this isn't your type of RP or you don't like the direction its going or perhaps you're thinking too general on the topic, just move on.

Re: [OOC] Dragon Age: Origins

You know, with the restrictions imposed, you have literally just made our characters for us. Also, you're following a storyline already made - Meaning we cannot do whatever we please in the RP. We're stuck on this one path, and you can't change it.

Sorry, had to nitpick. But all in all, making an RP about a story already made and not setting it around 20+ years later is a bad idea. For the simple fact that you are always doing what happened in the game or whatever it was. I mean like, for everyone. I know Dragon Age is a franchise.

So, just some pointers there. You really don't want to make so many roles though. Nine times out of ten, they won't get filled, and with the fact you have picked our Surnames from the game and the like, our backstories, personalities and age are all severely effected by that one surname. You need to let people have creativity and decide who they want to be without guidance. Sometimes it helps, but when it's precise like this, Nope.

Okay, Rant over.
