⌈Physical Description⌋
Odette, like any vampire, is stunning in an odd way. She is lean, yet hiding wiry muscles underneath her dark clothing so that she may pounce on, and take down her prey. She is a bit smaller than average height so that she may creep through the shadows or the dark that make up her camouflage. Her skin is pale from the lack of sunlight. Her face has attractive high cheek bones and pretty doe eyes have long lashes. Her brown hair is long and though it is often wavy, she sometimes likes to keep it straight.

⌈Personality⌋

Odette is a loyal coven member and would do anything for her 'family'. When it comes to humans, she rarely looks to them as anything but a meal, so she is often sarcastic and cruel to them. Being born in the 17th century, during the time of Puritans, Odette was raised with the church. She loved God, even if her vampire father, Claude, never truly believed. As a child it made a lot of sense; God created life, love, happiness and all the men and women on Earth. Everything and everyone had a purpose, and being a vampire was all a part of God's big plan. As she grew, slower than the other children, she kept true to the faith she believed in. She met a boy, got engaged and thought she would be happy... But as everyone around her grew older and older and she and her Father stayed young, people began to get suspicious. They called her a witch, tied her up to a cross and set her on fire. As she stay there, supposed to be dying, she just wondered why God would be so cruel and why humans were such monsters. This was until her father rescued her and fled away.

After that, the years seemed to move by. Move after move to new places, faces after faces she thought she knew but then seemed to forget. She always stuck by her fathers side, and slowly their family began to grow as more vampires joined their coven. When she went to sleep, she hoped that when she woke the world would be a better place... Now is her time to see if it is.

So begins...

ImageClaude groaned as the morning sunlight permeated through the old tattered blinds and shone on his eye lids. How long had he been asleep? 40 minutes? 40 hours? 40 days? No. 44 years. He was the eldest vampire and as he rose he saw a dark dusty room in front of him, weathered from the years of neglect. He moved from his bed, his pale bare feet touching the cold floor. The floor was nothing compared to his own cold veins. Thump. Thump. His feet made this sound as he strode down the hallway of the house. The house was silent, you could hear a pin drop in the entire house. Soon, when he did what was to be done, the house would be lively and they would be close to moving out and doing what needed to be done. He knocked on one door. His girlfriend. He knocked on another door. Toby's. Then he entered the last and walked over to the small sleeping figure. "Awaken my child."

Odette's eyes opened in a snap. She slowly looked up to see the familiar face of her father. He looked different somehow though... Maybe it was the way his eyes were slightly hollowed and his cheeks a bit thinner, the way all vampires looked when they were starved. She supposed she looked this way too, as her jaw ached and fangs throbbed for the coppery taste of blood.

How long had they truly fallen asleep?

She slowly sat up on the bed and stretched, all of her joins giving off a sickening pop and crack noise, that only made her sigh in relief. It felt good to be able to move her body again. It seemed like a lifetime since she had done so...

"Father..." She whispered quietly. "In which time are we? What is the year?"

She could tell from the dust moats that floated through the air that they had been asleep a long time... Even her clothes seemed to be covered in them. She brushed herself off as she stood and looked up at her father for answers.

Toby gave a long groan as he pulled his head up sharply from where it had been laying face down in the pillow quite happily causing him to suffocate. The knock on his door had woken him up and some where in the back of his brain he was aware that it had probably been Claude but for right now, he couldnt bring himself to care as the craving began.

"Coffeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...", came the first long groan as he slammed his face back into the pillow, "Neeeeeddd Cofffffeeeeee..." The next one was slightly muffled. Deciding that no one was coming to give him his addiction and he probably needed to go and get it himself... If they had any... Dear god please let them have some!

Toby started to roll his body side to side until he had enough momentum to flip himself over. He didn't realise how close he was to the edge of the bed, and the action caused him to fall, hard, on his back. A bang went through the house but Toby wasn't fazed and rolled himself onto his stomach where he proceeded to drag himself out his room, and finding claudes leg, grabbing onto it with another groan. "COOOOFFFFFEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Hearing another voice, he peered round the leg he was currently attaching himself to to see Odette and offered her a little wave. "Sup babe, Coffee?", he asked again, his tone hopeful as he looked at her with his best puppy dog eyes.

Bright blue eyes fluttered open when she heard a knock placed upon her door. She also heard footsteps and only one person could be up this early, Claude. She smiled at the thought of his name then rose up from her bed, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes with her index fingers. She then removed the covers from over her body, wearing nothing but a long t-shirt that went just above the knee and panties. She waltzed to her door and opened it, sniffing the air with a sigh as she heard someone groaning the word coffee and immediately went to find out where the noise was coming from.

"Toby!" There stood a woman now, in the door way with her arms folded over her chest. She smiled while offering Claude and Odette a small wave of her hand. "Morning, guys." Her eyes peered back towards Toby. "We have been sleep for a century of years probably and the only thing you can think about it coffee? Get it together." She said while pointing towards the door, wanting him to leave the room. She groaned while running her hand through her blonde locks of hair. Her eyes went to Claude. "So, do I have time to fix us breakfast?" She asked him while raising her hands up to her hips, lifting a delicate brow out of curiosity, waiting for him to respond to her question.

She was one of the oldest Vampire, next to Claude, which also means that she was tougher and stronger than the newborns, of course. She offered wondered what would she do if anyone of the newborns tried to test her. Would she play with? Or will she string them up by the legs and slit their throat as if they were a hog? There really were endless possibilities. "So, breakfast, yay or nay?" She started tapping her foot impatiently.

ImageClaude ignored the young man craving for coffee. Toby was a abnormal vampire and I guess that's why he joined the coven. He passed Clarissa on the way out of the room. There were other doors in the hallway and he proceeded, knocking once on each door and another person stepping out each time. One young lady with black hair. Another with blonde hair but much longer than Clarissa's. Each of them poked from their rooms about 5 seconds after the slight knock. Everyone respected Claude and they knew that he would be the first to die for any of his coven. As he proceeded down the stairs, with the other vampires in tow, he saw that Odette was searching about the kitchen. "Cease my child. Any blood left is long overdue." He watched the others file down the stairs then began to speak. "We will take our fill. We advance now and take what we need. Do so discretely my children because the time is day and we are in plain sight. Do not fail me or there will be no mercy."

ImageToby blinked rapidly as he was dragged from his position on Claudes foot by Odette and into the kitchen where settled in one of the seats and watched patiently as she began to search for blood. "If you see any coffee, give me a shoot.", he called cheekily over to her before leaning back against the table and closing his eyes, just taking a step back and smiling as he felt the slight sliver of sunlight shinning through the blinds touch his skin. It was good to be aware... Now all he needed was a Coffee...

Toby opened one eye as Claude entered the room and could already feel the slight grin coming over his features at the possibility of finally getting some coffee. "Brilliant! Mind if I escape to find whatever new establishment has been set up to bring me the miraculous beverage of god?", he asked Claude in an almost pleading tone though he knew his leader would let him go without a problem. He was pretty much useless without his coffee fix...

He was already shrugging on a denim jacket as well as a set of slip-slops (As he loves to call them.). Though he was still dressed in the clothing he had slept in, the fact that it was just a tee and jeans meant he could go out without having to change... Though maybe a shower was in order... Oh, it could wait till he got back, until then, a heavy dousing of deodorant.

"Anyone want to join me for coffee?", He questioned, his hand resting upon the door handle. It was a question asked more out of politeness then anything as he was pretty sure every vampire in the room put blood over coffee... Unlike him... But he was just weird and he didn't care.

Clarissa raised a brow towards Odetta as she walked pass her with a hiss and spoke angrily. Her eyes narrowed towards Claude, who basically did nothing to the little vermin of a daughter. She let that thought quickly remove itself from her mind before it came through her lips. Her eyes fluttered up when she seen that Claude was walking pass her but he still said nothing. She let out a soft sigh then turned heel and went back into her room. Her ears twitched when she heard Odetta's voice again. 'Brat.' She thought to herself then chuckled as she did change her clothes but not because Odetta said to, it was because she was going to anyway. She ran her hands through her hair and let it fall naturally down her back, a few strands dropped on her shoulders. Clarissa grabbed her clutch purse then proceeded on down the stairs, where everyone else was. She sit down at the dining table, leaned back in a chair, folding her legs as she listened to Claude. She nodded her head at his every word then raised up from her seated position. "Well, when are we going to hunt, Claude? Inquiring vampire minds want to know." She asked while raising one of her delicate eyebrows while waiting for a response.

Odette looked over at her father and bit her lip. She had always hunted with her father until the accursed Blonde woman began to court with her father. Then it had been her to fend for herself, though if she was desperate, her father was always there to help her. She sighed and rubbed her eyes. Time to get out of here.

"Father, I will be taking my leave... Be safe." She murmured and padded up to him. She wrapped her thin arms around him in a hug, like she always had when she was a kid saying goodbye to him. "I am going to bring money with me as well... I assume the clothing will be different nowadays and blending in is better when hunting." It was a lesson he had taught her.

ImageClaude wrapped his own arms around his young daughter's shoulders and kissed her forehead. "Be safe my child and let the blessings of men and all free folk go with you. May the stars shine upon your face." It was a farewell he had always taught her. He had hoped to hunt with his daughter but that would come later. He needed to take care of the other vampires in his coven. He knew his daughter could find her way about and he would meet up with the young woman later. As she took her leave out of the house he gathered small hunting teams. One older vampire with 2 younger vampires to train them better in the art of hunting because god knows 44 years of sleep would make you rusty. He then distributed only a fraction of the money they kept in the vault in Claude's room. Each person was to get a new set of clothes then observe the locals and feed if possible. He turned to Clarissa as the others had departed. His eyes were a dark maroon as he gazed at the maiden in front of him. "Shall we depart?" He questioned then held his hand out for her to take. His gentlemanly side was showing again and it was about to fade off as they went for the hunt.

Odette padded from the house and ran at super-human speed to where she smelt humans. The wind flew through her hair and she let out a happy woop in glee. Her lengthily unused body enjoyed the burn in its limbs as she sped though trees and jumped over rocks. Although the heat and light were pestering her, she ignored it for the sensations of her awakening body.

When she made it to the edge of the big city she stopped and fixed her wind-blown tresses. She let out a breath before deciding not to breath so that the blood didn't tempt her as much. She needed to observe first, feed later... even if the humans wouldn't know what hit them if she just started to slaughter for blood. She tucked the thoughts away and began to look at the humans as she began to walk through the streets. She found that clothing in this age was brighter, flashier and showed much more skin. Not exactly her idea of fashionable, then again... She had fairly old mannerisms.

After walking for a while, she decided to go into a clothing store. Inside had pale blue walls and hardwood floors. She sighed and headed to the most plain clothing. She decided to take a deep purple tank top, leather vest and black jeans. Before she bought the clothes, she paused before a pair of black leather high heel booties. She huffed, debating it before shaking her head and taking a pair of combat boots. She walked up to the cashier and set the items down. While the girl checked out the items, Odette decided to ask, "Excuse me, but what is the year?" This earned her an odd glance, but she got the answer of 2014.

Odette changed in the bathroom after purchasing the clothing. On her way out she threw her old worn clothes out. Time to find a blood donor...

Odette padded around the town until she found herself standing in front of a cafe filled with humans. They smelt good. Against her better judgement, she padded in. Maybe she could learn more about the humans in here, and maybe figure out why people seemed so transfixed by caffeine.

She stared up at the menu, a puzzled look crossing over her face. What was all this stuff? She listened to a few orders, only getting more confused. A half-caf soy latte with no whip? What did it mean? It was like a new language. Maybe Toby would have known if he were here... She looked at a man with brown hair. She tapped his shoulder, looking at him and trying not to breath his sent, it was bad enough that she could hear his heart beating. "What is all of this...? Explain to me what whip is..." She murmured.

She paused when she noticed the man at the counter. No heartbeat. He wasn't human. A vampire not in her Father's coven? She stared the man down as she waited for an answer from the human male.

Benson turned around to face a girl with pale skin, dark brown hair, a distracted look on her face, and... Red Eyes. Benson blinked as he took in the sight of her. This was definitely something he hadn't come across before... And he had seen a quite a bit. He swallowed, looking at the girl, about to ask what she needed.

She beat him to it.

'What is all of this...? Explain to me what whip is...' She was saying quietly. Ben blinked once more and looked around. Was she talking to him? He hadn't really gone that in depth with Shakespeare in school, but it definitely sounded as if she was speaking in that tone, and that wasn't entirely Benson's area of expertise, and she might have been talking to the guy at the counter, but apparently not. She also had this sort of distracted focus, like she was trying to block something out... but by her troubled face, it didn't seem to be working out too well. Ben raised his gaze to hers and gave a small smile.

'Okay, what are you looking at there, Snow White?' He leaned over to see the menu, and followed her gaze to "Half-Caf Soy Latte with No Whip." He nodded and looked back to her. 'Okay, er... A latte is kind of like coffee, you know that?' He spoke slowly; the girl didn't seem to be familiar with any of this vocabulary. 'Half-Caf means it's half caffeinated. Meaning that there is half regular coffee in the drink, and half decaffeinated coffee... Which means 'no caffeine.' Er... Soy means that instead of plain milk, from, you know...' He made little horns on the sides of his head, 'Cows, there is Soy milk instead. And whip... Well that's whipped cream, you know...' He made a stirring motion with his hands 'cream that is whipped. You put that all together,' he slowly brought his hands together, 'and you get a, say it with me, right... Half-Caf Soy Latte with No Whip.' He concluded his little explanation with a little nod of encouragement and a smile, as if to ask 'do you get it now?' He then fell quiet, waiting for Snow White to answer.

Alaric paused at Rebekah's question, hand poised over the tray of cash he was just about to get the change from for his current customer. He didn't respond for a moment, his eyes slightly faraway.

It wasn't the first time he was asked this question and more than likely, it would not be the last. And it wasn't like it was too difficult of a question. He cared for Chantal - perhaps, in some way, he might be able to fancy himself loving her. Maybe not in love with her, but love was...a delicate enough term to be used when describing that relationship. But more importantly...

"My relationship with Chantal is as it is - between the two of us, no offense," he said as politely as he could as he finished ringing up the customer, offering a pleasant smile to the departing male. Blue eyes found Rebekah's and softened. "But I do not...favor that editor. He...his presence is irritating."

He could have been an asshole. He could have been rude; his norm. But...this was also Rebekah - a sweet girl, someone he cared for as well. Maybe not on the same level of strong concern and overprotectiveness as Chantal, but then again that was because a girl like Rebekah could take care of herself. Chantal never would be able to.

As he awaited Chantal's return with the fruit for smoothies (she would be making the smoothies, no doubt), two new people entered. One in particular capturing his attention solely. Pale skin and dark hair, she wasn't like the other. There was no heartbeat. Her eyes were fixed on Alaric just as his were on her; she was dangerous.

There were not many vampires in Seattle. Alaric prided himself on knowing a good number of them; perhaps not all, but a good few. And she was not a familiar face. And unless -

He did not trust her.

And he only hoped Chantal would take her time.

"No problem," Chantal called over her shoulder and hurried into the back storage room. Well, it was a kitchen and then a door to get into the storage, but whatever. Chantal filed through all of the ingredients they might not have out front and hurried to find them.

Damon complained all the time that she spent too much time here - that she really didn't need this job. With income still coming from her book sales and from the new TV series that would be premiering this year, she and her nice apartment were fine. It wasn't like she splurged often; in fact, she spent more on family than anything else. He would rather her working on a new book while continuing her studies.

What he didn't understand was that she felt at peace her. This was where she spent hours working on her book, where she saw people and used them as the faces of her characters - their temperaments became a part of her characters. She couldn't not be here. Though, she was beginning to think that his dislike of this place had more to do with his dislike for Alaric, which was puzzling but obviously none of her business.

"Aha!" Chantal let out an exclamation of triumph, holding up the frozen peaches. Thinking quickly, she grabbed some cream, milk, frozen strawberries, and the peaches. As quickly as she could she made her way back out to the front and grinned at Rebekah, who was standing close to the register. "Found them! One peach smoothie coming right up. You want whipped cream?"

And then Chantal noted the tension. Well, there was enough tension for her to notice above the chattering customers sitting in seats and the ones still waiting for their orders to be ready. She smiled at one of the workers awkwardly, curious as to why Alaric was practically glaring holes into the brunette female and the male with green eyes. A very cute guy - Okay, time to get started, she told herself mentally and got right to business, brushing past Alaric to get to the register. She tossed him a curious stare over her shoulder.

"Sorry about the wait," she said kindly, a sweet smile on her face towards the brunette female and the male standing behind her. "I'm Chantal and I can take your order."

ImageClaude proceeded out of the ancient house with Clarissa. It was time to hunt, but not before observing the surroundings. He will try to stay away from Odette, let her do her own thing even though his heart as a father told him to follow her every movement to make sure she is alright. This new culture was much more different that the time he lived in. The women showed much too much skin. He was lucky that Odette was not like that. She was always sensible. They saw a cafe that seemed to be very crowded so they continued to walk down the streets, seeing many humans and nary a vampire. What did this time have in store for the new Coven?

ImageRebekah smiled at Chantal when she gave her the smoothie. "Thanks Chanti." She turned to the new woman that Benson had called 'Snow White'. "I recommend the smoothies, Chantal makes them great." She turned to Keela. "Not really, I went surfing this morning." She turned back to Alaric to see him glaring at the new woman in the cafe. "Alaric. Why are you staring at her...? It's rude to stare at the customers."

"That's cool," Keela said. "I'll leave you to your company," she said with a smile, noticing the small group all taking to Rebekah. She backed away slowly, letting herself drift out of the conversation. She padded over to a pale girl who was drinking coffee.

"Hello, I'm Keela. Sorry if I'm interrupting you, I guess I just wanted to say hi," Keela said, feeling more awkward with each passing second. She glanced at the girl, hoping that she wouldn't alert her of her awkward state. God, I'm screwed, Keela thought, internally grimacing. I refuse to muck this greeting up, too. I'm not going to be awkward with everybody I meet.

"Right, my apologies," Alaric said gently to Chantal, taking over at the register while she prepared the smoothies. He glanced back at the vampire, cast her a warning glance, and began to play the charming cashier. He didn't technically need the job. With his years of being alive, Alaric had wealth that he hadn't even touched yet. Chantal worked here and if more vampires were coming, it meant that he needed to keep a closer eye on her.

A moment later, he recalled Rebekah's words and gave her a crooked grin in return. "Would you rather I stare at you then?" He teased. "I always had a thing for hazel eyes." He even added a wink, causing a grinning Chantal to make time to punch his arm lightly.

"Stop trying to dazzle people," she chided gently, mirth glinting in her eyes. "It's not nice." She had just finished with the guy with beautiful eyes - seriously, beautiful eyes? - and sighed, content. Chantal's warm gaze then turned to the brunette Alaric had previously been glaring at, Jordan, and the blonde, Keela she believes, that Rebekah had spoken to. She had seen Keela before and actually found the name to be kinda cute. "And would either of you like to try the smoothies? Don't do this often and don't tell anyone I did, but I'll let you try them for free."

Chantal chose to ignore Alaric's disapproving glare.

Keela smiled at the girl and finished for her. "I'm Keela, and you are?" she asked, before hearing Chantal, a girl she was slightly acquainted with, but who she liked nevertheless. Keela was happy at the thought of the offer.

"Could I have a blueberry smoothie, please? And thank you, by the way," she responded before turning back to focus on the girl in front of her. She had dark hair and very fair skin, giving her an elegant look, and she spoke softly and gracefully, which Keela couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy about, as she was awkward most of the time and spoke clumsily and oftentimes clambered over her words.

ImageRebekah blushed lightly at Alaric's comment then hit him lightly on the arm. "Don't flirt with the boss either!" She answered then looked around the shop. Keela, Chantal, Alaric. They all kept her happy from where she used to be very morbid. She had come out of her shell more and now she was liked by many and even liked to hang out with other people now. The woman that Keela was talking to was particularly strange though. She hadn't seen her in the shop before or in ton. "I'll see you guys later. Alaric, you're in charge till I get back." She grabbed her smoothie that was in a transportable Styrofoam cup then walked over to the woman, standing next to Keela. "I was wondering if you are new to Seattle? I haven't ever seen you around town before." She began then looked at Keela, offering her some of her smoothie.

Keela smiled at Odette, glad that at least one new person didn't get freaked out by awkwardness (or at least she didn't show it). She opened her mouth to ask Odette where she was from, but Rebekah beat her to it. She turned her head to look at Rebekah before shaking her head, still smiling, and saying, "No thank you, I've got my own coming, but thanks for offering."

She turned her head back to look at Odette, smiling at her. Now that Rebekah mentions it, I haven't seen her before, Keela thought. I didn't even say, 'Welcome to the town!' Oh my god, what kind of forgetful, rude person am I? No, scratch that, I'll buy her a smoothie and say it then, Keela thought rather desperately, before waiting to speak to Odette.

ImageClaude growled lightly at her. "Never." He replied with venom. He lost too many people to give Odette up. "My daughter means everything to me. Don't ever say that again." He explained. As they continued down the road, they saw a group of small children playing in front of the orphanage. They would be good prey but going after children wasn't something that Claude would do. They continued down the road and then when Clarissa was distracted, he pulled a young woman walking down the street into the alleyway. He pushed her up against the wall, locked eyes to make her stop moving then sunk his fangs into the woman. He was quick with the job and he drained her. Time to get rid of the body. He pulled out a small brown box from his pocket then pulled out a match. With a flick of the wrist the match was on fire and then he threw it onto the body. The body slowly started burning and for extra measure he threw another lit match onto it. The body will be a pile of ash soon. He wiped his mouth then found Clarissa. "I'm back..." He uttered, trying not to scare her.
