BASICS
”I am but another puppet of this grand guignol. Nothing more."

-Nickname: The Scholar King
-Age: 27
-Gender: Male
-Rank: Noble
-Role: The ruler of the southern territories of man, bordering the lands of the Shalan. While seemingly locked in study he has taken it upon himself to act as the guiding hand of destiny in the lives of several individuals he has shown interest in. For what purpose he does this however is only known to him. The king who stokes the flames of war.
-Motivation: Messiah complex/ the delusions which haunt him.

APPEARANCE
”True nobility dyes through its bearer, regardless of form. I wonder what this speaks of me."

-Eyes: Alice blue
-Hair: Black
-Height: 175 cm (5”10)
-Weight: 74 kg (~164 lbs)
-Skin Tone: A healthy cream-hue which has somewhat paled due to hours locked in study or otherwise.
-Build: Average while showing some stocky characteristics.
-Body Markings: N/A
-Description: Regardless of his status as a noble, Altamont's appearance alone leaves deep impressions. Sharp and immaculate, and although not particularly attractive, each of his features seem to have been purposefully placed; many have wondered if they were speaking to a man born into this world naturally or a representation of one. His complexion is remarkably free of any sort of blemish and without the slightest aberration, other than maybe his covered right eye. Perhaps because of this however his other eye - in its constant narrowed gaze - seems to carry an extra, unseen, weight behind it. His long upturned nose and slightly thin lips may be called “atypical” and “befitting” for those in the noble class; but upon his face they only carry the dignity of such people with none of the pompous and narcissistic connotations. His hair while seemingly merely roughly slicked back actually is perfectly styled and coordinated.

His posture and bearing a blend of regal and military-like, he often appears taller than he actually is. Altamont carries himself in a precise manner seeking to accomplish all tasks -even such minor ones as eating- with the least number of movements possible. His expression nearly always either grim or vaguely amused, one has to look for the subtle body language he occasionally fails to suppress to get any sort of read on his mood.

MENTALITY
”Treacherous territory indeed; even for myself."

-Quirks: Occasionally refers to himself in third person, left-handed, much more comfortable sitting or standing rather than lying down
-Fears: That he is proceeding down the wrong path.
-Likes: All types of theatre, books, efficiency, progress, humankind, historical relics, debate.
-Dislikes: Boats, clutter, general disorganization, rambling, inhibitions, pointless ceremonies, surprises.
-Personality: Unflappable and taciturn, regardless of situation Altamont acts and speaks with absolute confidence and unseen insight. Not one for speeches unless required however, he will rarely ever explain the grounds for his actions and statements unless prompted – and even then he will not always respond. A man of many radical beliefs he at times can be quite outspoken; holding little regard for tradition unless it serves a purpose. While he is most often seen being escorted by only the bare minimum security, and desires privacy in his studies, he is by no means unsociable. Though few whom he chooses to have as company and the fact he does not speak much more than if he was alone would seem to suggest otherwise.

Known far throughout the realms as “The Scholar King”, Altamont's thirst for knowledge is probably second to none. He has been known to sometimes force his duties onto his stewards and disappear with a small, trusted, company – and sometimes alone – at the prospect of newly-unearthed ruins. His works are known far and wide and range a great many fields, affecting all races in one form or another. His theories light years ahead of others, it is unknown if he draws inspiration from lost technology from the past or if his proposals would be foreign to even the scholars of those times.

However his mind is removed from the realms of others in more than one way; perhaps as the cost of his knowledge and the lengths he has gone to attain it, Altamont's morality has been permanently skewed. Seemingly seeing the war with very few options for the success of humans in their current state, he leaves the conduction of the war to his advisers and other nobles while locked in study. Some call him a coward, and indeed Altamont does not entertain the thought of living forever, nor even to next month. When he does die however, he acknowledges the fact that the next leading minds are no match for his own. And so makes sure that even after his death the engine of progress will be stocked with the finest fuel for generations to come – blood. In reality, he is influencing the events of the war – from all sides; using the utmost discretion and anonymity he purposefully leaks and trades information from enemy sources, and manipulates events and people in order to prolong the war. Only sending aid to the human side when the equilibrium shifts too far.

Altamont has not completely convinced himself of this method however, as his remain strands of mortals scream at him they are joined by the vivid delusions of women from his past. The women each having been irrevocably lost to him by his own hand, they are accompanied by deep sense of uncertainty, and recollections of a time when he was different. However there are also the voices of those unknown to him which whisper the exact opposite sentiments of the women, and laced with far more compelling truths. Conflicted and torn, Altamont himself cannot come to treat these as merely illusions, and can barely keep the facade of appearing normal – much less overcome these phantoms.

EQUIPMENT
”Strange how even the garb of a murderer can become regalia"

-Armor: A jack of plates. Its design is quite progressive with remarkably sturdy yet flexible steel plates accomplished through Altamont's understanding of metallurgy. The jacket material finely woven and dense to deflect blows. Surprising non-ornamental for a ruler but its quality is apparent at a glance.
-Casual Clothing: Almost never revealing more than his face and hands, Altamont favours full-body suits often accompanied by a mantle of some sort. His eye patch bears the insignia of his family crest, but it is the only embroidery that can be found on his person with his casual clothing, preferring unmarked clothing in solid colours. As per the rest of his appearance he goes to great lengths to make sure everything is in order, especially any tie he may be wearing.
-Carried Items: Eye patch, a notebook, often one or two tomes on history, and sometimes cigars.

-Main Weapon
•Name: Unsung
•Type: Spada da lato
•Made of: Steel alloy
•Length: 100 cm (~39 inches)
•Weight: 1.6 kg (~3.5 lbs)
•Description/Info: Deceptively heavy despite its appearance, this blade reflects Altamont's preference for efficiency – designed and balanced so finely it becomes a weapon unsuitable for a king but for a killer.

COMBATIVENESS
”No deaths are neccesary for my goal. They are however, desired."

-Natural Talents
•Talent 1: The might of brilliance. Few minds can keep up with Altamont's thought processing even less can understand them.
•Talent 2: His presence exhumes something primal most beings can't comprehend on a conscious level. Not many are unaffected by it - though it arouses different emotions depending on the individual.

-Skills
•Skill 1: Altamont possesses total recall – he cannot forget an event through the passage of time – though memories can be blocked in other fashions.
•Skill 2: The processing power of his mind is simply unrivalled, perhaps even faster than his body can follow the commands issued to it.

-Weaknesses
•Weakness 1: Since his right eye is covered with an eye patch, his field of vision is less than that of a regular human, his depth perception is also skewed. He has not especially trained any of his other senses to make up for this.
•Weakness 2: While having strength on par with an above average human solider, he lacks their stamina and does not fend well after a certain time limit.

HISTORY

•Family: Wife, and two distant cousins.
•History: Will be revealed later
