Madiea is a married mother of three children. She was born with the Rune of Destruction, as her teacher taught her during her time as an apprentice. She has never used the rune and avoids killing, using her skilled martial arts to knock enemies out.
Madiea is a very loving, caring, forgiving and motherly person. She is also VERY social and outspoken, even inviting strangers to her home for dinners with her families. She is also extremely charitable and generous.
On the other hand, she also has an insatiable curiosity for the world around her. Due to her parents teaching her valuable lessons but forgetting to give her context or reason to justify the virtues she was taught to commit, she always wants to learn more, to understand how the world works. This is why she aspires to be a sailor and take her family sailing around the world.
Rune of Destruction: This rune that is printed on her stomach depicts a pair of wings surrounded by a speckled circle resembling fine ash. Years of practice have made certain that she can still use it if she needs to, despite never using it before.
Money pouch: Madiea keeps her money in here.
Travelling pack: A circular bag suspended via the strap around Madiea's stomach. She keeps important items in there, like food and water.
Medical kit: Attached to her travelling pack. It keeps plenty of remedial herbs and materials to allow her to treat injuries.
Machete: Never used for combat; only to clear debris or open paths or other things.
Compass: Used in case she ever gets lost.
Map: Please refer to above.
Leather gloves: Protects her hands.
Madiea grew up in Duminica. Her parents were both scholars who did their best to educate her about people, good and evil and a lot of very existential stuff that she didn't even understand. Her parents tell her that they saw her rune and they want her to grow up to be a righteous woman of love and compassion. Madiea didn't understand a lot of this but she could tell it mattered a lot to her parents, so she did her best.
When she was eight, she was introduced to a monk named Markerion to help her practice her powers. To avoid suspicion from other people, she was there officially because she was being taught the martial arts (which was also true, on Madiea's insistence). For years, Madiea was taught how to fight with her hands and feet and how to use her power, all the while her parents were educating her on the nature of man and the world. As a result, she grew to be a beautiful and knowledgeable woman. She married at 32 to a man named Sedar Heliosang and had three children since then.
One day, she received a letter from a professor in a city quite a ways away asking to study her runes in return for a very handsome payment. Thinking "sure, why not?", she kissed her husband and three children goodbye and set off on her way with a rented red horse.
