Personality

Scintillation is temperamental, easily anger and annoyed. Most of all, however, he is young and full of energy. He longs for battle and war. Despite all this he has a caring side as well and, once they have earned his respect, he treats people he knows kindly. He is not above reason or self control and can be easily calmed with a few words from Mirage or anyone he respects and trusts.

Because of his large size, Scintillation does not often use his power over light as a weapon, instead he relies on the brute force of his claws, tail and jaws. His strength is guided by his own impressive cunning and works in tandem with Mirage's magic.

History

Scintillation has never been alone, abandoned by his parents while still within his shell. He was found in colder coasts to the north of Drune by Mirage's parents. They were members of a strange elven clan that wandered the mountains and glaciers. On the very first camp after the discovery his egg was set upon Mirage's blanket. Right next to the curious baby. From this point on Mirage and Scintillation have shared a bond. One that links not only their thoughts and feelings but their very life-force.

They grew up together, although eventually. When Mirage's parents left them to fare for themselves, as was their clans tradition, they wandered south. Into warmer lands where the leadership of Drune was active. They very quickly learned of the kingdoms views towards dragons when a group of dragon hunters accosted them, not realising Mirage's connection with Scintillation, they attack the dragon. Needless to say few of them survived. Those that did reported of the great serpent and a white witch of a boy. They grew infamous on these words alone and soon were hunted, not as an example of how dragons and other races could live together, but as abominations.
