i. You're different. Maybe strange is a better term, or even peculiar. No one really understands who or what you are, why you are here and still continue to exist. And neither do you. Why do you exist? That is a question you ask yourselves everyday, every minute you walk this cold earth, people staring daggers into the deepest parts of your being. In your heads you can imagine every word they wish to tell you. Die. Disappear. Stay away from us. Not normal...But that's fine, you're fine. Because you have others like you, in this unforgiving and cruel world you have...friends.

ii. Difficult as some might find it for an outcast like you to acquire or maintain friends, it's the truth. You have people who understand and accept you. Why? Because they are just like you. They are different. Weird. Strange. But that is what makes you all stick together, protect one another, watch over each other. You all are friends and even if the world doesn't understand, you all do. But maybe...no...that isn't enough.

iii. No, there is simply too many stares. Too many sleepless nights. Too many scars etched onto your skin. You all can't take it anymore. You need to escape, find relief from the pain. And in the midst of your despair, one of you speaks the words no one else dared, "What about a pill."

iv. December 21st, 2016, you all rush out of your homes at 11:30 p.m. to the secret fort where no one but you guys can enter. A quiet place, stored away from reality. A field that fills with green in the spring and summer, dirt in the fall, and snow in the winter. The one place no one would find you guys. There you all will let your plan unfold. It is there that, you all will do, what no one has dared to mention until now.

v. One by one everyone took a pill and placed it in the palm of their hand. Everyone was silent, you all gazed at each other with an understanding no one could possibly comprehend. As if you could hear into one another's mind, you all counted from ten, slowly and deliberately. No one cried or wished to run away. This was a mutual decision. You needed to stop the thoughts in your heads and this was the only escape. And as the pill lay on their tongues, before you took your final gulp, the ground beneath you caved in and you fell into a pit of darkness.

vi. Empty. Floating in darkness. It wasn’t terrible, and somehow it felt...safe. Like the emptiness was comforting a part of you that needed warmth. None of you could move and helplessly let your bodies fall further and further, letting the warmth envelop your senses, until you were completely emerged. Waking up you realize that you are all lying in a field of sand. And in front of your eyes you see a world of delight and splendor. You were now in the world of Nevermore.
