Cherri Lerner's Story

Connor woke up at the first light of the day and yawned loudly. He tried to pounce down but only hurt himself in the process
"Ouch " he said then covered his mouth " Wow I can talk , this is weird. " his stomach growled and he ignored his human features and jumped back onto Cherri's bed. " Cherri, Cherri wake up I'm hungry wake up " he nudged her with his hand and meow. " Cherri , Cherri " he lied at her feet and nudged her with his head. " Come on ,come on" he pounced on her and licked her cheek. "Come on wake up Cherri". he was a bit shorter than her and felt about the same weight wise.

" Come on please wake up , wake up, wake up, wake uuuuppppp." he meowed loudly then he pushed her side knocking her off the bed with a large thump. " I'm sorry I'm sorry " he went under the blanket and hid his tail sticking out and him hiding underneath.

Cherri heard a voice call out her name but she pretty much ignored it. She felt Connor nudging her and licking her but she once again ignored him. The morning was the only time she ever ignored her precious cat, and there was nothing different about this morning. After a few more meows and actual talking, which didn't seem abmormal to her because she was half asleep. "Dad..." She mummbled really quietly. Cherri thought it was her father that was doing the talking while Connor was helping him.

Suddenly she felt Connor push her off the bed. "OUCH!" She yelled. Finally she opened her eyes and saw her refection in the mirror that was in front of her, her blonde hair was all over the place and she had bags under her eyes. Her yellow pajama shirt went up during the night and her stomach was showing. Then she looked at her bed, to "punish" her cat and saw his tail sticking out of the blanket. Quickly she pounched on her kitty but she felt something wrong. "Connor?" She said with a bit of fear in her voice. Her cat wasn't about the same height as her nor felt like a human. Cherri quickly pulled off the green blanket and saw a human boy underneath.

"Where's my Connor?" Cherri said with tears forming in her eyes. All the shock caused her to forget about the tail and ears that were on the boy. The thought of something happening to him such as someone stealing him, like this stange boy, or something even worse made her go hystarical. Cherri wailed even louder and cried harder and shook the poor boy and kept demanding to know where her cat was.

Connor sat tight when he heard Cherri get up. " Im dead, I'm dead, I'm dead" he kept repeating to himself when he felt the blanket above him being torn off him. "Where's my Connor?" he felt a bit bad she didn't even recognize him. He raised his upper body and felt the cold night air against his chest and chilled.

"Cherri don't you see it's me Connor remember you've almost smothered me about tewenty times. " Connor meowed in a special way he could , a bit low at first then higher than his regular voice , he thought it was special that only he could do this so whenever he needed Cherri he would meow like that.

"Connor?" Cherri said in complete shock. She wipped the tears from her eyes and finally came to her senses. Only her Connor was able to meow like that. "Connor!" She yelled when she realized it was her precious cat. She hugged him tightly to the point that she was choking him, for the millionth time. Cherri was so happy that he was alright, but then she looked at him and asked, "What happened to you?"

Only after that she took a good look at her cat. Connor had the same tail and ears. He also had the eyes that Cherri ever so much adored. Then she realized he had no clothes on. She blushed a bright pink and turned her head away, only to face the mirror. She once again quickly turned her head and hoped that Connor didn't notice she was acting strange.

" Uh Im not sure " he felt a cold wind hit his body and looked down. " Where'd my fur go." he asked as he started shivering. He walked up to the mirror and looked himself over. " I'm human now , huh WHY AM I A HUMAN" he shouted. He jumped up and down pouting. He looked the outside window and sighed. " What happened to me."

"Ohh Connor," Cherri said looking at her cat. "Don't worry I still love you," She said in a kinda babish way and she once again sqeezed him in a hug. Then she remembered he was naked. "I'll go find something for you to wear," she said while looking through her closet. Cherri found an old pair of boxers she used to wear at nighttime. She went to her desk and cut a hole right about where his tail should be. She gave it to Connor and said," Oh your just so adorable!!" She gave him a little kiss and then once again whet to her closet to grab some clothes.

Cherri was a little unsure if it was alright to get dressed in her room, Connor was always in the room when she got dressed but for some reason now it really bothered her. "I'll be right back, so put on those boxers m'kay?" She said after she decieded that she should just get dressed in the bathroom.

She went to the bathroom and washed her face. Cherri was still in shock after what happened this morning, but slowly it was sinking it. "We'll just take it one by one," she said to herself while looking in the mirror. After she finished brushing her teeth and putting on this outfit. Then she opened the door that connected her bathroom with her room to see if Connor was able to put on the clothes.

Cherri went out of the bathroom just in time to see Connor pounce towards the window, but of course the window was closed. "Connor also had a habit of doing that," she thought to herself. She saw him go heard first into the window and heard his cries. "Connor, honey," She went up to him worried. "Where does it hurt?" Cherri asked hugging and kissing the head of her precious kitty. Then she looked at Connor's face again and again yelled, "You're so cute," while squishing him even harder.

"Are you hungry?" She asked remembering the mornings events started with Connor being hungry. "Lets go see what is there to eat," Cherri said as she started walking to the kitchen. She peaked around the house to see if any of her family members where around, it would be kinda hard to explain that her cat turned into a human. Her mother already didn't like him, if she found out that this happened, she would quickly send him away.

As soon as Cherri saw that the coast was clear, she went towards the kitchen. She opened the refridgerator and saw that it was empty. "Maybe we should go to a restaurant and then shopping," She mummbled loud enough for Connor to hear.

Cherri looked at her cat and thought what he would be able to wear. Then an idea hit her, her brother was about the same size as Conner, possibly even bigger. "Connor, I'm going to find something for you to wear from brother's room but remember you can't come with him. I swear its like he's psychic. Everytime, you enter his room, he knows," She said saying the last sentance with a sigh. Cherri quickly sneaked into his room, and firstly checked to see if he was there. He is supposed to be in college but who knows with that lazy bum. Luckily he wasn't there. She opened his closet and grabbed the first clothes she saw. Suddenly she heard her brother's bathroom door open. "Shit," She thought and she quickly hid the clothes behind her back. Her brother noticed her and asked her angrily,"Why are you in my room?!" Cherri quickly retorted and a cocky voice, "I thought that possibly Mom might have put my favorite shirt in your closet but I was wrong." Then she quickly went outside.

"Connor, Connor," She whispered. Now that she knew her brother was home, it was going to be a lot more difficult. "Here," Cherri said giving him these clothes. "Go to my room and quickly change, I'll be right there," She said. Cherri had to make sure her brother left the house before she could leave with Connor.

Cherri looked at Connor in his beanie. He was so adorable! She saw that the clothes were a bit uncomfortable, but for now there was nothing she could really do about it. She grabbed her purse and brushed her hair for the millionth time, and said,"Connor, we're going out. Do you want to eat at a restaurant first, I know this great sushi place that I know you'll love. Or do you want to go shopping for clothes first so you can be comfortable and then we can go eat?" Cherri hoped that there wouldn't be too much trouble from Connor because he doesn't really know how to act like a human. It seems like she'll just have to see and correct him.

"If you haven't decided yet, lets get in the car and you can decide there," Cherri said not letting Connor have enough time to answer her. Walking at a pace that's faster than her usually one, probably because she's worried that something will go wrong, she reached the car and got inside. From the inside of her car she opened the door for Connor to get in and started the engine.

" Hey wait up " said Connor as he bounded out the door on all fours he then stopped himself before exiting and tried to walk on his two feet. He wobbled but slowly made his way to the car and sat down. He hissed at the sound of the engine. He had been in a car before but never like this he was usually in the backseat asleep and curled into a ball.

He looked out the window and saw that there was more color outside than usual. "Must be where Im human" he thought. He turned his attention to Cherri's question. "Uh food sounds good but what is sushi exactly" he said as he meowed again. He heard Cherri's family talk about different foods often although he had never seen any of them he heard them talk about steak, sushi, fried foods, the list goes on and on. The only time he ever tried something new was when wine was accidently put into his bowl and he loved it. He from then on snuck sips from Cheri's parents wine glasses when they weren't looking he tasted about a dozen types and found he liked red the best. He wondered if he would be able to get some where they were going or not because he never saw Cherri drinking it so she probably wouldn't approve.

"Sushi, my dear, will be the best thing you will ever taste," Cherri said with a snicker. "Maybe not more than wine" she thought because of all the times Connor used to drink from her parent's wine glasses when he thought they went looking. She made a swift turn to the nearest sushi place, and someone from the left lane cussed at her a bit, but Cherri didn't seem to mind. She wasnt a good driver, and everyone knew that.

Finally they reached the sushi restaurant and she told Connor to come sit down right next to her on the sushi bar. "Sushi," she said as she watched the chef's making them," is rice, seaweed, vegetables, and fish. But to eat it you have to wait patiently here and they will give us some."
