Description
The Fullmetal Alchemist has amber eyes and golden hair that frames his face in the front and is tied back in the back with a braid, and he wears a vivid red jacket that (on him) goes to his knees, underneath which he wears a long-sleeved black shirt with white trimming that is fastened on by a metallic-looking snap and a black tank top underneath that with black leather pants and dark brown boots that appear to be strapped on. This outfit is usually accompanied by white gloves, which he usually wears in order to hide his automail right arm, although he also has an automail left leg starting mid-thigh and going downwards. (He's also only 5' 6", but he'd never admit that to anyone.)
Personality
Edward is extremely loyal to his younger brother Alphonse, even to the point where he would sacrifice his own life in order to save his brother's. The two are practically inseparable--where one goes, so does the other...unless, of course, the two get into an argument. He also absolutely HATES being called any type or implication of a short insult--especially by those such as Roy Mustang, who is also known as the Flame Alchemist, or the homunculus Envy, who, for some reason, has taken to calling him a "pipsqueak"--and he wouldn't hesitate a second to let you know. (The only down side of this is that he'll yell it at you at the top of his lungs in the form of a rather long-winded rant.)
Underneath all of this, however, lies a heart of gold (which might explain why he's so short, although most blame it on the automail) that cares about anyone and everyone, although he probably wouldn't admit that. He's also quick to help anyone in trouble, often despite his better judgment and at the risk of his life, and is a true sweetheart.
Equipment
Edward is usually armed with nothing more than his automail, his skills in fighting, and his extensive knowledge of alchemy. Oh, and also his younger brother Al, who often helps him out in nasty situations.
History
Ed has a surprisingly dark background for someone as young as he is. His father, Hoenheim of Light, left when Ed was a mere four years of age, although fortunately Al was too young to remember, and due to this as well as a serious illness, his mother, Trisha Elric, died when Ed was eight years of age, Al having been seven at the time. The brothers attempted to bring back their mother not long after that, but instead ended up creating the homunculus Sloth, the act causing Al to lose his entire body and Ed to lose his left leg, and Ed then sacrificed his right arm in order to seal Al's soul into a suit of armor. He got automated armored limbs known as automail soon afterwards and applied for the military as a State Alchemist, with Roy Mustang's help. A mere two days after Ed turned twelve, the eldest Elric became a State Alchemist, earning the call name of the Fullmetal Alchemist, and soon after set out to find the legendary Philosopher's Stone.
So begins...
Edward Elric glared at him. "WHO'RE YOU CALLING SHORT?!"
Edward Elric continues looking annoyed, an anger mark clearly shown on his forehead.
Al sweatdropped. "Brother, calm down! We have to give him the report, remember?"
Ed blinked. "Oh, right..." He pulls out some paperwork. "Here."
Edward Elric blinked and put it on the pile.
Al looked at his brother, looking worried.
Edward Elric blinked but nodded, then saluted and turned to walk off, Al following.
Edward Elric Al looked at Ed. "Did you notice something different about the Colonel?"
Ed blinked at Al. "No, he was his usual annoying self. Why?"
Al shrugged. "I dunno, he just seemed different to me."
Edward Elric bumps into Hawkeye and blinks. "Oh, Lieutenant!"
Al blinked. "Lieutenant! Colonel Mustang is looking for you."
Edward Elric shook his head. "No, he just said he wanted to see you."
Al kept quiet, as was his want.
Edward Elric blinked. "He has something for me? Wierd, he didn't mention that." He looked at his brother. "C'mon Al, let's go."
Al nodded. "Right behind you, Brother," he replied as the two Elrics headed back to the colonel's office.
Edward Elric gets to Mustang's office and raps on the doorjamb. "Uhh, Colonel? The Lieutenant siad you had something for me?"
Al merely watched, silent as he was most of the time.
Edward Elric blinked at the scene, then snickered at Mustang's freaked-out look before he walked in. "
Al started giggling as well, despite restraining himself, and followed his brother into the office.
Edward Elric blinked. "New homunculi? What? Where? How?"
Al blinked.
Edward Elric walks into Mustang's office to give the colonel his report and blinks when he finds it empty save for Hawkeye. "Where's Mustang?"
Edward Elric walks into Mustang's office to give the colonel his report and blinks when he finds it empty save for Hawkeye. "Where's Mustang?"
Edward Elric nods. "Yeah..." He blinked and looked around. "Great, where'd Al go?"
Edward Elric turns to see Al walk in. "Oh, there you are, I thought you got lost on the way to the bathroom again."
Al blinked. "Brother! I wouldn't get lost on the way to the bathroom!"
Edward Elric crossed his arms. "I thought Kimblee was dead--killed by Scar."
Edward Elric blinks. "See him? You mean he's still alive?"
Edward Elric frowns. "So he's trying to bring back the homunculi..."
Al, who had been quiet through all of this, blinked. "But it's a different Envy?"
Edward Elric blinks. "Huh...this'll be interesting. I'm curious as to how much it looks like the old one."
Al turns to Ed. "If it's a different Envy, it'll probably look like someone else."
Edward Elric looks at Hawkeye. "Still has the green hair? So Envy still looks like a palmtree?"
Al nods. "That's expected."
