Sonic got back to his feet and resumed running. As soon as he got closer to Sonic.exe, he noticed that Sonic.exe is, in fact, slowing down. "He's slowing down?" Sonic thought to himself, "Looks like his power is backfiring. Now's my chance!" The blue hedgehog boosted himself at full speed and ran past his demonic doppleganger. As a result, Sonic ran through the finish line.

Sonic.exe tried to warp in front of Sonic, but the Blue Blur already ran past that point. The doppelganger was flustered - how could he suddenly be falling behind?!

Sonic.exe tried running at Sonic with all given speed...but then got pushed in the face by Fluttershy's hoof.

"Get...off...!"

Sonic.exe struggled to shove Fluttershy's hoof back, but she mustered as much strength as she could to push back.

NGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sonic.exe threw Fluttershy off of him toward the abyss below. Sent downward to the emptiness, Fluttershy could only scream...

...but was quickly caught by Celestia, who swooped down and caught her on her back. In any case, Sonic has indeed won the race, leaving Sonic.exe to rage in utter confusion.

As the monster spazzed and glitched, the cage around Peach, Tails, Knuckles, Eggman, and Rainbow Dash was flickering.

"Hey, at least we won't have to worry about the faker Sonic for awhile." Sonic chuckled.

Freed, Rainbow Dash did a loopdeloop in the air and rejoined the others. "{laughs proudly} Sweet moves there, Sonic!" she cheered. "I mean, I knew you were fast, but...I don't think I've ever seen you go THAT fast!"

"(!) I spy one!" Rainbow Dash said, flying off toward the green Chaos Emerald floating above the abyss.

"Is that one of them?" Xi said, seeing the purple Emerald floating around in the distance.

"There!" Kokonotsu said, seeing the white Emerald sitting still in midair, as if on invisible ground.

"I got this-a one!" Mario said, eyes set on the red Emerald in the air above.

"Over there!" Celestia said, eyeing the yellow Emerald far off. She set Fluttershy back on the island.

"Let's do it!" Twilight said, seeing the cyan Emerald drifting around in the distance.

Sonic.exe's remains showered bolts at the opposition. It was tricky just to dodge them! Bowser stumbled onto his back hopping back from a bolt. "Owww - !"

"No time for dilly-dallying! GO!" Mario said, whipping out a Cape Feather and manifesting his Super Cape. Dashing off the island, he started gliding toward his target Emerald.

"Agh! Uh...Paraplonk! You're the flyer! You get those Emeralds!" Bowser commanded, trying to get off the ground.

Luna stood guard of Fluttershy and Peach.

Rainbow Dash weaved past Sonic.exe's bolts, eventually making her way to the Emerald's location. Swooping in, she snatched it out of suspension. "Gotcha~!"

Xi flew toward her Emerald using Propulsor Wings. However, she was startled by the bolts shooting down in front of her. Focusing hard, she entered Ghosting Form, phasing past the bolts swiftly and reformed just near the Emerald, which she then grabbed.

Kokonotsu took a step over the emptiness ahead, another bridge suddenly materializing at his feet. With this, he dashed and strafed past the raining bolts, soon reaching the Emerald. "Jackpot!"

Mario glided past the bolts with his cape. He then pulled up on the cape's corners to open it up like a parachute, quickly drifting upward. He soon got the Emerald. "One down!"

Twilight and Celestia focused on their Emeralds while soaring past the bolts. Celestia managed to block them by casting a barrier over herself. As she reached and collected the Emerald, Celestia soon noticed that Twilight was starting to panic - the bolts were coming down at her too quickly, giving her no time to focus on projecting a barrier herself.

"(!) Here, Twilight!" the princess called out, casting another barrier of hers around Twilight.

"P-Princess..." Twilight stuttered. "...Thank you." With this barrier, Twilight was able to reach her Emerald. "That's six, right?"

"Form a bridge and step on it!" Sergaent Guy commanded, and the Elite Trio formed a bridge for Sonic to cross over. Sonic is obviously the right choice, and he sprints across the bridge and grabs the final Chaos Emerald.

"Thanks! You three weren't so useless after all!"

"THANK YOU!" Goomp cried.

With the seven Chaos Emeralds collected, the Emeralds float from the hands of the heroes and fly around the blue Hedgehog. Absorbing the positive energy of the seven Chaos Emeralds, Sonic's blue fur turns into gold, and his usual green eyes become red. Tails and Knuckles saw Sonic transforming into his super form, the mighty Super Sonic. The golden glowing hedgehog now faces his glitched-up doppelganger one last time.

"Now we'll settle this thing once and for all!" Super Sonic challenged Sonic.exe to fight.
