Physical Description: Midas is a Koopa dressed in red, with golden gloves over his hands (usually). He doesn’t look all that distinctive.
Personality: Midas is skittish and paranoid thanks to being cursed long ago. Awkward, cowardly, and jumpy, he rarely acts like the master thief he supposedly is, but when push comes to shove he gets the job done.
History: Midas used to be a thief… well, that’s not accurate, he still is. But he used to not be called Midas – probably something like Kopper, since he’s a Koopa and all. Anyway, one day he touched something he shouldn’t and, like the mythical King Midas, was cursed with the golden touch – thankfully limited to his hands. His unique talent got him recruited by the Marksmen, and now he works for Majestic on the basis that he’s a unique asset, but who knows how long that’ll last…
Equipment: Midas’ gloves aren’t special, other than being made of gold, but since they prevent direct contact with his hands they’re what can stop him from turning everything he touches to gold.
Abilities: Midas’ cursed hands can turn anything they touch to gold.
Other: For the longest time I had no idea why Midas didn’t just turn stuff he stole into gold. Now that he works for Majestic I’ve got a decent reason.

So begins...
Midas's Story
While the pale man works, a Koopa dressed in a red thief uniform and golden gloves practices karate against a training dummy. He's got the poses down, it's the execution he can't quite handle, often falling flat on his face when he attempts a kick.
The Dupli-Brothers run up to the training dummy in glee... and begin tearing it apart with their scythes.
"You mean like you?" asks Dupli-Green. "Oh very well. Let us, brother!"
The Dupli-Brothers both turn into copies of Midas, and begin limply slapping the training dummy's remains while shouting "DUHHHHH" constantly.

Tsan then rushed at the training dummy, delivering a rushing spearhead to it and breaking it in half. He then proceeded to split the dummy's top half with a flip-kick.
"... Show offs..." whined Midas.
Meanwhile, the man has finished welding the swords together, but has noticed that the handles for wielding them are exceptionally short, as if made specifically for someone's hands. Alex's, of course.
"Let's see if we can't get you to come out of your shell," said the man, digging through some spare parts.

The Dupli-Brothers turn back to their regular forms, giggling.
"You must not be so grumpy, Koopa!" says Dupli-Green.
"Yes, do not be so serious!" adds Dupli-Red. "Like us, you must have fun with life... and death!"

The blood sample basically shows that there's a sort of mystical energy that flows through Alex's body, allowing him to unlock the mystical abilities in his swords.

The pale man finally gets something that works and doesn't disrupt the mystical energy. Using the original swords as a template, he pulls out several shards of crystal and gets to work producing copies of them.

Valentine has by now completed the first few vials of the serum. "Good. Now for a proper guinea pig to apply one to..."
Conveniently, Midas is passing by Valentine, carrying a bag of garbage with the remains of the training dummy in it.
Valentine quickly stops Midas with a hand to his shoulder. "Congratulations, Midas. Today, you get to be a hero."
Valentine stuck a syringe of the serum into Midas's arm and injected. "By estimate, you'll feel a bit of a rush soon after."
