Tarlok is the epitome of the northman in which he rules over, but because of this he has had to remove himself from virtually every part of normal life. In his age his body has grown weary far beyond its years but he never allows himself to show weakness for he believes it to be disgraceful.

Tarlok is stern and is a fully serious person. Being the leader of a strong resilient people Tarlok has let most emotion callous over. His people however due tend to love him for he has always protected and provided for him. One person that he did count as a friend was Kind Artorius, and because of this friendship Tarlok was appointed Duke of Jorvik and since then has ruled over it in prosperity. One thing that has always been evident was the great difference between Tarlok and the other lords of Renova in the fact that he refused to convert to their religion. He worshiped his people's gods and would never due otherwise.
