Full name:
Sinead Aoife Morrigan
Gender:
Female
Age:
16
Rank:
Queen of the Eastern Kingdoms
Sinead is a fairly laidback soul and it takes a fair bit to really rile her up. She does get annoyed but few have ever seen her really lose her temper, and it's not a pretty sight. She does her best to be a fair ruler and follow the example set by her parents. Sinead is very careful with people's feelings, and is a fiercely loyal friend to those who have earned her respect and friendship. She refuses to take sides among friends. It really is more trouble than it's worth. Sinead can be the kind of person to give someone way too many second chances, but she does try to see the best in everyone, even if no one else can see it. However, if she finds someone is repeatedly taking advantage of her good nature, then she will take action against them with the full force of the crown she wears.
While she does try to give off a confident aura, Sinead isn't always that confident. As a young queen, she is learning to rule as she goes. She had thought it would be easier than this and sometimes questions her own judgement in private. It's times like this she turns to her ladies. Not to say she's shy, because she isn't, she's just not as gregarious as others. She can be sociable, but she prefers her own company from time to time. Also, she's never quite sure how to take a compliment, and generally just feels uncomfortable, smiles and says a polite 'thank you' even if she doesn't really believe it herself. She knows she isn't a bad person, but she feels uncomfortable when people point out good things about her.
Sinead has a figure that is just on the curvy side of slender and is petite in height. She has dark wavy hair that falls to just above her waist. Her eyes are pale blue although in certain lights they take on a pale green colour. She always walks with her back straight, standing as tall as she can, as expected of a woman of her station. She dresses modestly, still not quite as comfortable with showing as much skin as some other women in the court as she makes her transition from childhood into womanhood.
Sinead was the second born child of Queen Aoife and King Ardan Morrigan. As a young child, she was close to her brother, Lorcan, despite his sickly nature. Lorcan was a weak child and was constantly ill, so the siblings spent much of their time in Lorcan's chambers, Sinead reading to him when he asked and helping the nurses who cared for him when she was needed. As children, Lorcan always promised to look out for Sinead and protect her from men with ill intentions. When Lorcan died at the age of twelve, it was no great surprise to many in the kingdom, although Sinead was left heartbroken by the loss. With the Queen approaching her late 30s, the chances of another heir being born were slim, and so Sinead's tutoring became more intense as she was prepared to become a Queen herself. Young as she was, Sinead was ten at the time, even Sinead noticed her father taking more of an interest in her education. He was certainly more protective of her too, as she was now the sole heir to the eastern throne.
When Sinead was twelve, the Queen miraculously fell pregnant again. The pregnancy was far from easy for the Queen and she fell dangerously ill towards the end of the pregnancy. The child was born, a boy named Cahal. However, the labour was difficult and Aoife died soon after giving birth. Cahal was also a sickly child and despite the efforts of an army of healers, Cahal died a few weeks after being born, leaving Sinead the sole heir once again. The kingdom mourned the passing of the Queen and Prince for a long time, particularly Ardan, having now lost two sons and his wife. For two years, Sinead's life as a Princess and the future Queen was as normal as could possibly be. She knew of the arranged marriage, but thought little of it. Her parents' marriage had been arranged and they had worked out incredibly well. Alas, the normality of Sinead's life could not continue. Ardan was involved in a hunting accident. The wound became infected and Ardan died a few days later. A fortnight later, Sinead ascended to the throne, assisted by her ladies-in-waiting and her father's Hand.
Theme song:
Here you sit in your high-backed chair
Wonder how the view is from there
I wouldn't know 'cause I like to sit
Upon the floor, yeah upon the floor
If you like we could play a game
Let's pretend that we are the same
But you will have to look much closer
Than you do, closer than you do
And I'm far too tired to stay here anymore
And I don't care what you think anyway
'Cause I think you were wrong about me
Yeah what if you were, what if you were
And what if I'm a snowstorm burning
What if I'm a world unturning
What if I'm an ocean, far too shallow, much too deep
What if I'm the kindest demon
Something you may not believe in
What if I'm a siren singing gentlemen to sleep
I know you've got it figured out
Tell me what I am all about
And I just might learn a thing or two
Hundred about you, maybe about you
I'm the end of your telescope
I don't change just to suit your vision
'Cause I am bound by a fraying rope
Around my hands, tied around my hands
And you close your eyes when I say I'm breaking free
And put your hands over both your ears
Because you cannot stand to believe I'm not
The perfect girl you thought
Well what have I got to lose
And what if I'm a weeping willow
Laughing tears upon my pillow
What if I'm a socialite who wants to be alone
What if I'm a toothless leopard
What if I'm a sheepless shepherd
What if I'm an angel without wings to take me home
You don't know me
Never will, never will
I'm outside your picture frame
And the glass is breaking now
You can't see me
Never will, never will
If you're never gonna see
What if I'm a crowded desert
Too much pain with little pleasure
What if I'm the nicest place you never want to go
What if I don't know who I am
Will that keep us both from trying
To find out and when you have
Be sure to let me know
What if I'm a snowstorm burning
What if I'm a world unturning
What if I'm an ocean, far too shallow, much too deep
What if I'm the kindest demon
Something you may not believe in
What if I'm a siren singing gentlemen to sleep
Sleep...
Sleep...
