Cornelius Blackwater

"Freedom is an illusion."

a character in “Genetics”, as played by TheFlag

Description

Name: "No nicknames, please they make me shudder." Image
How old they look: 17
Appearance: Cornelius is fairly skinny, and of average height for a male of his age which is 5"7' not a lot of muscle clings to Cornelius but his look is deceiving, as he is fairly strong. Cornelius' face is a pale shade, as if the blood has trouble circulating, his face is fairly smooth and his lips puff out along with his cheeks giving him a fairly clear complexion. His hair is a dark black, which curls upwards naturally, he however brushes it down to maintain his usual appearance his hair is fairly short as it doesn't go past his neck. Cornelius' eyes are a dark shade of green, with a tint of blue at each iris, they're bloodshot from lack of sleep and seem to stick out.
Fears: Death, since it means the end of his existence and conciousness. Minor fear of heights and closed spaces.
Personality: Cornelius is a survivor through and through, and will do whatever it takes to keep himself alive even if it causes despair for others. His instincts seemed to be predatory, which seems to unnerve most people around him he doesn't do this on purpose because he cannot control the way he acts. Cornelius is a man of a few words when it comes down to conversations, however if he does get involved he'll contribute what ever he has to offer. His social aspects are awkward to say the least, he is inexperienced in them and doesn't know how to deal with problems of that sort. His emotions also complicate the way he perceives the world, as he cannot properly control them and they often warp his perceptions. His most defining aspect of his personality is his head on attitude, he thinks you should just get it over with or you'll just have to face it later and the problem could has escalated into something bigger.
Strengths: Tenacity, common sense, intellect, stamina
Weaknesses: Emotions, conversations, stubbornness
Special ability: Memory, Cornelius' memory has been greatly enhanced allowing him to recall everything in his life with complete lucidity as he never forgets, another aspect is his learning speed he can learn rapidly for example if he watched someone preform martial arts, he would be able to learn the form and stance quickly this however does not give him experience using this technique. This can also be a problem if someone insulted him and then a day later tried to talk to him, he'd still be angry from the day before.

So begins...

Cornelius looked up at the house that he, and the others would be residing for a period of time he knew it wouldn't be permanent of course but it would be nice to have a home again even if it was temporary. He glanced upwards his pair of eyes scanning the house, it was rather large and his eyes picked out several details quickly in fact if he closed his eyes right now he'd have a perfect image of the house inside his head which would mirror the real version in complete synergy. He yawned tiredly, shrugging his shoulders above his head trying to look relaxed however it was almost impossible not to see the confusion in his eyes, he didn't properly understand what was going on and honestly he was sure he didn't want to as inside him his emotions were clashing, often unbalanced and he didn't truly get the meaning of them he felt loss for his 'father' if you could call him that, and then there was the guilt could he have prevented all this from happening? The memories playing across his mind constantly and the worst part of it was he could remember all of it, every single detail every word said and he took it to heart.

Cornelius shook his head and looked back down to the ground, his eyes then caught Lyn as he watched her rummage through her pocket pulling out a pair of keys and begin unlocking the door he stood there quietly, "Well guys, this is where you will be living for a while feel free to pick a room and explore, this is a new start for you guys," Lyn smiled and it gave Cornelius slight comfort, a new start sounded good but he knew in his heart that his past, his origins would hound him you can never forget who you are and what you've done after all. He waited for the others to proceed, as it would be rude just to walk in, but hey he's a genetic freak! that's a excuse isn't it? Would people think less of him for it? Probably but he supposed he could hide his tailored genetics. Cornelius began thinking of his origins, questions he could ask like if he was based on a previous incarnation, or where his genes came from so he could root down his past somewhere and get a lay of himself.

"The location is secure, shall I start some tea?" Lyn tilted her glasses up. "That'd be lovely Dina," She smiled, she began to unpack all of the belongings from the car that they travelled here in. There weren't that many things to unpack, but she supposed that with everyone here not being exactly normal people, it was easy to understand. Lyn herself didn't have that many belongings herself, she'd left most of her stuff back in her families home, she told herself she'd only bring what was important and if she needed anything else, she'd get it while she was there.

Judging by the looks of the others faces, she guessed that they were okay with this house. Not that the house mattered, it was more about the safety of this area, this was the best place she could fine at such short notice. Lyn hauled the last of the bags out of the car and set them on the grass before locking up the car. She glanced at Cornelius, "oh, Cornelius, could you give me a hand with some of these bags..?" She asked.

Cornelius' eyes flickered on Dina, as she thanked Lyn for opening the door in a tone of complete politeness Cornelius had noted that she'd always been polite it was probably coded into her, she was mechanical after all, and not organic like him. Was he organic? He wasn't even sure on that which frustrated him, he refrained himself from asking questions there would be time for that later after all and unpacking would be a bad time, at least he thought he wasn't to solid on socialization thing. He watched as Dina walked into the main hall of the house, and put her hands onto her temples, probably scanning the place Cornelius' mind thought "the location is secure, shall I start some tea?" Dina asked Lyn, Cornelius wondered if she would make tea for everyone or just Lyn, he didn't fully grasp the way Dina thought and was muddled by this, Lyn tilted her glasses and replied "That'd be lovely Dina," which was followed by the same smile.

Cornelius began to get more lively, now the flow of movement had returned and began shuffling around. His eyes once again settled on Lyn, she had just hauled the last of the bags out of the car, setting them down on the grass while locking the car. Cornelius felt her eyes settle on him "oh, Cornelius, could you give me a hand with some of these bags..?" Cornelius felt a light pressure settle on him "Sure thing, Lyn" his voice spoke, which was raspy due to dehydration. Cornelius walked over to the bags, which were fairly light and picked up two of them one in each hand, he then went inside the house, avoiding bumping into Dina and put them by the side of the wall inside the main hall, where his brain automatically began to pick out all the small details.

"Dina! I want tea too!" The childish, feminine voice screeched through the house; bouncing off the walls and echoing through the foyer. Avie was about to dart down the visible hallway but the melodic voice of Lyn behind her, although asking for Cornelius' assistance, reminded her that she needed to get her bags. She turned on the balls of her feet, towards the door and dashed outside to where Lyn stood next to the car. She just barely skimmed passed Cornelius, who carried 2 bags himself. "Sorry!" She called to him over her shoulder, forgetting what she was apologizing for when she saw her beloved mother figure before her. "Lyn, do you have my bag?" She questioned, slowing to a halt, smiling brightly. She scanned the ground with her large, expressive eyes, searching for her backpack. Among the sea of suitcases - not that there were many - Avie couldn't find her pink, Hello Kitty backpack. She did remember to bring her stuff...right? Her other suitcases were brought in, sure. But her backpack was important and held important things. No backpack meant no coloring books or crayons or candy. That thought alone horrified her. "I can't find my bag!" She panicked, tears prickling her bottom eyelids as realization struck her. What if I left my stuff at the other house?

Avie brought a hand up to wipe the un-shed tears away quickly, before they started pouring down her face. She felt a weight on her shoulders when she raised her arm, and thought that maybe for a second her wings had come out on their own. Almost frantically, she reached behind herself, as far as her short arms would let her go, and palmed what should have been the arch of her back. Instead, delicate fingertips brushed rough fabric and zippers; her backpack. Her mouth formed a small 'o'. Laughing at her own forgetfulness and overreaction, she hugged Lyn's side. "Just kidding, I found it!" She looked up at the house again, contemplating how she was going to decorate her room. She looked up at Lyn, grinning. "Can I have the bedroom closest to the kitchen? In case I get hungry?"

Dina, having memorized the plan earlier, easily navigated to the kitchen. She placed the teapot on the stove and, while she waited, she opened each and every cabinet, drawer, door, and cubby to take inventory and compare it to the shopping list she had programmed. It was well stocked, and everything was in order. Dr. Grey would have been pleased to see that a large jar of black licorice was sitting on the counter across from her. I wonder if Dr. Grey had ever been here before...

She takes out 8 cups and the teapot. She is careful to let the tea steep untill it was rich and golden. She had chosen Chammomile, because it has a calming effect. She placed the cups and the teapot on the tray with some sugar cubes, and made her way into the main room.

The others were bringing in luggage, so she set the tray out and becan sorting the luggage into piles based on who they belonged to. Avielynn, Cornelius, Josie, Xero, Lyn and laslty my things...She was always sorting things for the Doctor. She would sort everything from his files when he needed them organized to the laundry when it was clean. Her first response to a pile of things mixed together was to sort them, an interesting program Dr.Grey had installed but it came in handy around the house.

When the others came returned with a few more bags she said to them," When you are ready the tea had been set," and gave them her warm smile.

Cornelius' was snapped back out of his focus when Dina addressed everyone telling them their tea had been served Cornelius' frown turned into a slight grin, so she had made tea for everyone answering his previous question. He wasn't ready for his tea yet, too much was going on to sit and have a warm cup of tea. Deciding to walk back outside and help get the last of the bags. he was fairly light on his feet, now that his brain had automatically mapped out his surroundings.

Cornelius approached the car where his eyes focused on Avie and Lyn probably collecting her bag, she was in one of her moods again, he judged that from when she nearly bumped into him. He approached the bags, he heard Avie talk about which room she wanted, something about a kitchen? That would make sense, since Avielynn has a appetite that would put a mammoth to shame.
Cornelius bent down picking up the rest of the bags, and began hauling them inside the house, he was careful to avoid the others when doing this. He placed the bags down by the cluster of other bags.

His bag was on his shoulder as always, his satchel contained clothes, toothbrush and all other essentials in case he needed to make a quick escape, he knew he was being hunted of course his mind perfectly recalls times where he felt he was being watched, he also heard several phone calls from Father which were quite disturbing and why else would they move randomly, and adopt a new identity, unless they were hiding? His current plan was to learn as much as he could, he was aware of his 'gift' and wanted to eliminate any of his weaknesses immanently so he'd be ready.

Dina watchd the others collect their things and search the house. She saw avie searching and she pulled her file mentaly. Afraid of water, Likes hugs, Always Hungry... She walked over to her and handed her a cup of tea and pointed to a door down the hall, "That room is 5.3 feet away from the kitchen and," she paused for a moment to collect her data, "its the third largest bedroom in the house."

She watched as Xero walked in, and began searching for a room. She made a mental note to find the nearest newspaper stand and get a copy for him so he could do the brain teasers and word jumble. SHe knew they were too easy for him, but it was somethign nice she tried to do for him. Maybe the newspaper crew here is smarter and writes more challenging stuff...

Cornelius was carrying the last of the bags in. She was always keeping an eye on him, even now, for Dr.Grey. She remembers what he had with her while he was programming some new nformation in her about him.
"That boy is too smart for his own good, do what you can to help him, ok?"
She remembers her reply to him, 'Of course Dr.Grey, you programmed me to." He had at laughed at the comment, but she was never sure why.
What she do for him at a time like this? How do you tell someone that is running for their life, that everything is going to be ok?

Cornelius stifled a yawn, followed by that raspy groan he needed a drink which made sense since he hadn't had one for exactly 5 hours and 12 minutes. Cornelius walked over to Dina who was sitting at the table, drinking a cup of tea she had served. Cornelius pulled up a chair and sat down, adjusting his position to get comfortable, his hand then went to the tray his hand wrapping around the handle of a cup, and he pulled it up looking into its contents it was a nice color but also its scent was unique, without further notice Cornelius pressed the cup to his lips and began drinking the tea, it was nice and hot. Cornelius felt himself relaxing quickly it was a difficult feeling, but it was a nice feeling, and those were rare.

Cornelius eyes flicked back onto Dina "You make wonderful tea." Cornelius commented lips turning into a grin "Is it Chammomile?" Cornelius wasn't very familiar with tea, but his memory always remembered the variety Father used to indulge and couldn't help not to remember, he casually sipped the tea enjoying its unique flavour, Cornelius' eyes flicked down back to the cup which was almost half empty, Cornelius was surprised at how thirsty he was but smiled sheepishly regardless.

"You make wonderful tea... Is it Chammomile?"

Dina watched Cornelius sip his tea approvigly, she smiled at him and responded, "Why yes, Dr.Grey always loved Chammomile when he got home. He said it would relax him after a long day," She lifted the teapot by its handle, holding the top and pouring him another cup as she spoke, "It seemed that we could use a little wind down after such a long trip." She placed the pot back on the tray and pushed the sugar cubes in his reach, laying a spoon next to the dish so he could stir. She was programmed to respond with certain procedures whenever she observed certain activiy, she realized she was ouring him another cup not only because he looked thirsty, but because Dr.Grey always drank two. She smiled over at the boy, noticing little habits that reminded her of ALbert.
"Did you pick out a room yet?" she asked as she returned to her own cup.

Avie took the cup from Dina with small hands and an enthusiastic "Thanks!" and scampered off to her room, following the directions her robotic companion gave her. 5.3 feet from the kitchen...She took 5 great steps, her stride being quite small, and soon found herself in front of a white door, shut tightly. She turned the handle, calling out a loud, "I'm in my room if anyone needs me!" She shut the door behind her and observed. One desk, one dresser, one bed and a closet. Avie found herself nodding in approval at her new living space, and flopped down on her stomach, the mattress bouncing slightly. Overall, the room was spacious, but still held a stale, sour smell; as most things that haven't been messed with in a while do. She sat up on her knees, shrugging her backpack off her shoulders. Hopping up, she jumped over to one of the large windows and struggled to get it open, fumbling with the latch until it slid up. She'd have to ask Lyn or Cornelius to install a screen window so bugs couldn't get in. Just the thought of the flying, tiny insects had Avie shuttering in disgust. She moved back to her bed, satisfied with the small breeze the open window had created. She looked to her backpack and reached for it, yanking the zippers down as she sat down, legs crossed. She retreived her coloring book and crayons, and got to work, bringing the dull, black and white fish to life with vibrant blues and greens.

It was a good 20 minutes later when Avie felt her eyelids drooping, her once-precise strokes of purple crayon becoming slack and messy. Vaguely, she wondered what Xero and the others were up to. Maybe I'll see if they want to hang out later...She decided that taking a small nap wouldn't hurt, and she'd be up in time for dinner. Closing her eyes, she sunk back into the giraffe PillowPet she'd brought with her. Even though the feeling of the bare mattress grossed her out- she didn't want to think of who had last slept on it, and how many dead skin cells that weren't hers she was currently laying on - she was asleep in seconds.

Cornelius, looked into his cup listening to Dina's response to his question, a smile on his face "Why yes, Dr.Grey always loved Chammomile when he got home. He said it would relax him after a long day," he noticed Dina had began to pour him another cup, and held out his cup eagerly nodding his head in thanks, "It seemed that we could use a little wind down after such a long trip." Dina stated, and she was right it was a pleasant way to relax he almost understood Father's obsession with tea it could relax the person and it tastes great! Cornelius watched as Dina pushed the sugar cubes into his grasp, along with a spoon so he could stir, "Thanks Dina." Cornelius replied politely, as he gingerly put several cubes into his new drink and instinctively began to stir in a swirling motion.

After he had finished stirring, he set the teaspoon aside on the tray and casually sipped it once again. This cup was a lot more sweeter then before probably because of the large amount of surgar he had put into it, regardless of that fact it still tasted great and he continued to take tiny sips due to how hot it was. "Did you pick out a room yet?" Dina politely enquired, Cornelius had this in the back of his head but he didn't really have any personal tastes for rooms, and shrugged slightly confused, "I don't really see the point in picking out a room, I'll probably just pick one at random." Cornelius continued "However one with a view would be fairly nice, white walls and such." Cornelius smiled at that thought. "How about you Dina?" Cornelius asked "What room are you looking for?"
this personally interested him, as he wanted to find out Dina's preferences, along with the others just get to know everyone a little better.

Dina smiled, she always enjoyed conversations with the others. It always started up her learning fuction, and she would add new information to her files.
"There is a room upstairs with two large windows," she said, recalling the floorplan, "I think that room would be sufficient. There is plenty of sunlight so I can charge, and there are some built in bookshelves."

Dina loves to read, Dr.Grey programmed her to not only soak up the information she reads if it is useful, but to enjoy the act of reading. He and Josie built a program for her that allowed her to scan the pages, and only store the information she didn't activly file away for a hort of time. This allowed Dina to pick and choose what she remembered so she wouldn't overload with information. It was anohter program he had built so even though she was not human, she actually have the capability of enjoyment. It was amung many other emotions her programmed her with, she could feel worry, happiness, remorse, she could even laugh.

Dina looked over at Cornelious and asked, "Would it help you to block the light out of your room? You told me once that when you closed your eyes it was as if they were still open. You could see everything. I was reading a book the other day and it explained that when you close your eyes you see darkness because no light can reach your pupils. What if there was no light before you closed your eyes? Would you 'see' the darkness still, or would your optical lobes truly be at rest?"

She pondered the question herself, hoping that she could relieve some of his pain.

Cornelius' eyes sheepishly began to wander, it had been a long day and the trip here and this had begun to take a toll on his energy and the tea wasn't helping him stay awake either. He was snapped out of his brief daydream by Xero, who bellowed "I'll take this one!" Cornelius smiled lightly as his focus swayed back onto Dina and their current conversation "There is a room upstairs with two large windows," Dina said in thought "I think that room would be sufficient. There is plenty of sunlight so I can charge, and there are some built in bookshelves." Cornelius nodded politely, "That does seem nice." Cornelius dryly commented. He stretched his left arm outwards, as he blinked owlishly.

Cornelius' thoughts began to wander back to his earliest memory, he could recall it perfectly he was in a tube of some sort a lot smaller then he was now, and he heard Harold stating to someone else a female perhaps, that neurological activity had begun, and that he was perfectly aware of my surroundings he was right but Cornelius' thoughts were a lot more jumbled then they were now, he then heard them say something which was mumbled due to him being in the tube. The next thing Cornelius' remembered was whisperings of sorts, which was Father's voice telling him things, how to speak, how to walk and other common day to day abilities. Cornelius then remembered emerging from some sort of tank, he was big but not as big as he was now he was fifteen then, and remembered how Harold began tutoring everyone in the ability to control themselves.

Cornelius was curious of his genetics, he could recall everything in his life down to every last single detail and according to Harold his learning speed was nothing short of amazing, allowing him to learn things in mere minutes rather then years and days. But what other toll did engineering do to him, how long would he live? Would he ever develop a disease of some sort, these questions plagued his mind constantly, and Cornelius yearned to talk to somebody who understood Genetics, he could find it out himself of course but he couldn't find a book on the subject ironically.

Cornelius train of thoughts were lost, and he was forced back down to reality as Dina's voice ruptured his concentraton, "Would it help you to block the light out of your room? You told me once that when you closed your eyes it was as if they were still open. You could see everything. I was reading a book the other day and it explained that when you close your eyes you see darkness because no light can reach your pupils. What if there was no light before you closed your eyes? Would you 'see' the darkness still, or would your optical lobes truly be at rest?" Cornelius, gaze widened lightly taking in Dina's mouthful of a question "No, light doesn't bother me it's just I memorize my surroundings that it makes no difference if my eyes are open or closed, because I imagine myself moving, and the pictures clear in my head. However if something new comes into view with my eyes closed I wouldn't be able to 'see' it." Cornelius explained, moving onto Dina's second part of her question "Your optics aren't truly switched off unless you're recharging sleep and such your mind creates images, but those images don't require eyesight. Just a active brain."

Cornelius yawned, and thanked Dina for the tea, tipping an invisible hat. He stood up, pushing his chair back into the table "Thanks Dina it's nice talking to you." Cornelius smiled "But I'm tired I think I might rest for a few hours." He traced himself back through the hall, most of everyone had departed from the front yard, the Car there locked and fitted it nicely. Cornelius began trudging up the stairs yawning timidly, looking for a room to have a nice sleep in.

Avie rose from her bed, almost zombie-like, and crossed the room to the door; bare feet padding softly on the hardwood floor. Absent mindedly, she stumbled into the hall and to the kitchen, which was vacant of any signs of life. "I'm so hungry." She whined, mostly to herself. Mutely, she wondered where Dina was. The robotic female always made the yummiest of dishes. With a defeated sigh, Avie marched out of the kitchen. She really was no good at cooking herself, and she was sure the last thing Lyn would want was a kitchen-on-fire.

She heard footsteps heading upstairs, and quickly flung herself in that direction. She saw the retreating back of a male and quickly followed after them. "Cornelius!" She called, reaching out almost viciously to pull the boy backwards on the shoulder so he faced her. "Hey!" She greeted, smiling.

Avie found that out of all the people in the house, Cornelius was the one person she didn't know much about. Sure, they spent a great deal of time in the same living quarters, but they both had their own lives; other things to attend to. While Avie was dependent in nearly all aspects of life, and Cornelius could survive on his own. He didn't particularly care for feelings, and Avie lived for them. His memory was impressive; hers was short of all right. This, of course, didn't stop her from attempting conversation anyway.

"So uh, can you make me a snack?"

Cornelius was half way up the stairs, but stopped mid-step when he heard a familiar voice he could tell it was Avielynn but couldn't stop his body from automatically jumping in fright. He felt her hand touch his shoulder and try to pull him backwards, he turned a hesitant sigh of relief escaped his mouth "You almost gave me a heart attack." Cornelius muttered, irritation in his voice while she replied with her trademark energetic "Hey!" followed by her smile, which seemed to ease his earlier irritation towards her. He solemnly wondered what Avielynn was doing down at this time, his thoughts promptly sped up and down, finally his common sense kicked in. She was either hungry that was a plausible explanation, she had lost something not likely since she isn't upset or she was seeking social company, he wasn't sure on this and disregarded it rather quickly as he hadn't figured Avielynn's characteristics yet, he knew she was energetic, and had certain mood swings but other then that he hadn't taken her into consideration. He wanted to get to know her better, but she was a hard person to talk to as she seemed to Cornelius looked for a word to express his thoughts and one came to mind "loud."

"So uh, can you make me a snack?" she said a certain chime in her tone, Cornelius felt a feeling of satisfaction in his gut for getting it right. He nodded reluctantly, as he didn't want her to mess up the new kitchen "Fine... Avielynn but it'll have to be something quick." he began walking back down the stairs, at a slow pace not waiting for her to follow he called "What do you want?" he said leaning on the counter in the Kitchen. Cornelius was just going to make her a quick snack, he was tired and for this first time since he got here he actually wanted to go to sleep.

A wide grin broke out on Avie's face as she watched Cornelius head back down the stairs, inwardly doing a victory dance. She followed him, a little bounce in her step now, into the kitchen, and stood awkwardly in the middle. He leaned against the counter, looking tired and slightly irritated. Avie's mouth tightened into a flat line, before she pursed her lips thoughtfully. "Hm." She began, putting her hands on her hips. What am I hungry for? She brought a hand up and tapped her chin, surveying the kitchen. She wondered what was in the fridge, but quickly cast that thought away. There hadn't been time for grocery shopping. Or maybe they had and they just didn't invite her to go? How rude.

"I uh, dunno." She shifted on her heels uneasily. Cornelius was looking more annoyed by the second, but Avie couldn't control what she wanted! Hell, she didn't even know what food was in the house. The familiar sting of tears dabbed at her eyelids. A single tear fell down her cheek, and that's all it took for her to completely lose it. "We j-just moved in!" She cried, burying her face in her hands. "How am I s-supposed to know what he have, h-huh?"

It's always been like this. She's always been the most dramatic out of everyone. Genetically altered or not, Doctor Grey had done an excellent job in the art of teaching her emotions. In fact, it went a little beyond that; almost to the point of Avie having more feelings than a normal human being. Usually Lyn would make her feel better when she cried, but there she was, in the kitchen with Cornelius, who was irritated to start with. Avie doubted he would know how to cheer her up; she didn't even know herself.

This thought seemed to make her cry harder.

Cornelius' facial features contorted into a low frown, one that wasn't exactly sad just tired. Avielynn had a habit of crying over tiny things, Cornelius let a sigh escape his lips it was obvious to see he was fairly stressed, he had been like this for awhile keeping most of his negative emotions in a bottle and frankly it was beginning to show, whether it was his eyes blood shot, with bags drooping underneath or his constant emotional downpours, he always kept his personal feelings bottled up keeping them from the world not to say he didn't indulge in positive emotions from time to time it's just he rarely let negative emotions such as anger, hate and such escape, he didn't see the point in letting negative emotions out because they would just complicate the situation right?

Regardless of how stressed he was, he tried to console Avielynn "It's alright" he fumbled awkwardly not sure how to deal with the situation. "What's the commotion?" a male voice asked, accompanied by a yawn, it was Xero, Cornelius turned to see he was right but that was an easy feat to guess. "Hey" Xero said softly, as his hand reached out to Avielynn's head. "What's going on? Why you crying? this was followed by Xero's grin, as he put his arm around her shoulder, "This isn't a place to cry" Xero laughed "This is a place to laugh and enjoy yourself," he said, "The both of you." His smile seemed to grow wider, as Cornelius felt Xero's spare arm drape around his shoulder. Cornelius felt oddly better, not because of Xero's speech however probably because Avielynn would stop crying.

Cornelius heard a rather large growl, from whose stomach he couldn't tell but he'll make them both something, he couldn't cook well as Dina but he had watched her from time to time, and could mimic several of her dishes his however never tasted as good. He walked over to the fridge, taking Xero's arm off his shoulder he took a peek inside, there was some cheese, a couple slices of ham and exactly two tortilla wraps, "How does a ham and cheese wrap sound?" He asked both of them.

Dina closed her book at the sound of the others. She raised from the chair and placed the novel back on the shelf. Since Dina only needed to recharge in the sunlight, as long as she got a couple hours of sun she kept going and going, only tiring on rainy weekend if she isn't plugged in. She spent the majority of her nights reading books, and she got the majority of her sun walking to the library.
She walked out of her room to see the what was happening. She followed the sounds to the kitchen where she saw Xero, Cornelius and Avie talking, Avie bubbly as ever I wonder if she recharges with sunlight too...
"Hello everyone," she waved, with the smile she gave everytime she registered their faces, "What's going on here?"

Avie wiped the stray tears away. She didn't know if it was Xero's comforting, or Cornelius' , or the fact that Lyn and Dina were now there. Avie put a small arm around Xero's waist, as she was much too short to mimic him and put it around his shoulders. "Sorry." She apologized quietly. "I guess I was overreacting..." She turned to Lyn, still clutching Xero. "I like the house!" She cheered, immediately snapping out of whatever foul mood had taken over her earlier. She felt kind of bad. She didn't mean to cry and put Cornelius in a position like that. Thank goodness the others came. She'd have to apologize to him later. "I think we need to go shopping though." She added, leaning her head on Xero's side. She turned to Cornelius. "You can, uh...go to bed now. Sorry for making you come back downstairs..." Her attention turned quickly to Dina, and she grinned. "So, are you up for making me food?"

How long had it been since her last meal? A couple hours? Inwardly, Avie cringed in horror. She'd never gone without food for that long. "Did you find a room yet, Lyn?"

Cornelius shuddered but felt relief immanently now that Dina had showed up to bake them something, he probably would of just made a mess in his current state. He shrugged his shoulders, letting out a yawn. And as he expected he was no longer needed, as Avielynn apologized to everyone for overreacting, she changed immediately back into her cheerful self expressing to Lynn what she thought of the house which was positive. "You can, uh...go to bed now. Sorry for making you come back downstairs..." Avie said, Cornelius just muttered "Forget it." He yawned tiredly once again. His face then turned to Lyn, who had asked a question about the house, "It's fine..." Cornelius answered plainly. Dina had already begun making Cookies by the sound of it, meaning Avielynn was successful in getting something to eat, Xero would probably want some to.

He walked out of the Doorway and looked back at everyone "I'm retiring for the night, don't wake me in case of a fire," He paused for a moment in thought "Screw it, let me burn." He added as he began walking away from the Kitchen and back upstairs. His feet were heavy and his eyes began scanning for a free room, he spotted one with half the door open the walls were painted navy blue and there was a large window on the side, and in the middle was a nice comfy bed he slowly put his satchel at the side and hopped inside quickly, turning on his side.
