High-born as she is, Cordelia is not expected to work. Her father is making no secret of his desire to marry her off to the first aristocratic gentleman that expresses interest, so she can eventually become a doting wife and mother, despite her status as the "black sheep" of the family.

Cordelia is, by most people's standards, a very attractive young woman with sharp features, a warm complexion, and a desirable figure. From the quickest of glances you can see that she comes from a wealthy background, from her expensive and luxurious attire to the air of confidence that she seems to exude around others. She is no stranger to makeup, as seen by the thick smudges of black paint around her eyes, exaggerating the hazel colour of her irises.

Cordelia is typically clad in the finest, most beautiful gowns that money can buy; specifically tailored to accentuate her womanly figure, and thereby making her a more appealing sight in the eyes of potential suitors. She prefers deep blues, purples, or greens for her dresses. As a mark of her family's wealth she also adorns herself in fine jewelry. Not by personal choice, mind. She is rarely allowed to be anything but gorgeously pristine and feminine in appearance.

Her hazel eyes have a habit of shifting colour very subtly; some days they are more brown, and others they are more green.

First and foremost, Cordelia is expected to maintain a good image in the presence of guests and male suitors - if not for herself, then at least for the sake of not tarnishing her family's name. She must always act with the etiquette of a lady. Charming, softly-spoken, effeminate, and above all else mindful of her place in today's society; in this "man's world." Something with which she greatly struggles, for her sudden urges to quip an insult at the misogynistic company she often keeps can get her into trouble at times. She's always been the sort to subtly rebel against her father's standards, and would do near enough anything to avoid becoming some snobbish man's loving and obedient wife, all the while keeping in her family's good graces to avoid being cut off from their fortune. Behind closed doors, however, she can be quick-tempered, daringly amorous, and cunning, usually without awareness or fear of the consequences.

• The mistreatment of servants, Demon or otherwise. She may not like the creatures but even she can find the heart to be civil.
• The common opinion that women are somehow "lesser" than men.

• She fears what she does not understand, so she has never been particularly fond or trusting of Demonkind, regardless of how tame they appear.
• That her sexual orientation will become public knowledge.

• She can be quite generous, often choosing to give whatever she can to those who need it more than herself. Within reason, of course.

• It's rare that she would ever openly admit to being wrong, and can become very irritable if someone challenges her publicly.
• She often gets carried away and/or forgets her place, abandoning her etiquette entirely and replacing it with casual playfulness or displays of irritation/anger.
• She curses like a sailor, to say the absolute least. Though she manages to mind her language when in the company of others, she is not above the use of foul language when there is no threat of being judged by important people.

• She's intelligent enough to find a way to get herself out of difficult situations and/or awkward conversations, should the need arise. She's just not so good at preventing them in the first place.
• Much that she's shy about performing in front of others, she is said to possess a lovely singing voice, and has been learning piano recently.

Cordelia was born and raised into a wealthy, well-to-do household consisting of her father, mother, and three sisters. It's all she's ever known, and all her parents before her knew. From the day she was brought into this world, she was given everything she ever wanted or needed. Toys, clothes, food - she was short of nothing. The same, of course, went for her siblings (two of whom are now married with children). To this day she's not even sure what or where their wealth originated from (mostly for lack of caring), only that they take every chance they can get to show it off. It's not like they're the richest of the rich, but they're certainly not middle class. They have servants (of human and demon blood), a lavish home, and more earthly possessions than she cares to count.

The only thing that saved her from being like any other stereotypical "wealthy woman" was her uncle, who lived with them in their home for a time. He filled her head with such concepts as generosity, equality, and acceptance of others, regardless of social status or even species. He taught her that it wasn't necessarily a bad thing to have an opinion, just that she should be careful where she shares it. No matter how strained her relationship with her parents became over the years, he was her rock. She could go to him with her issues and he would treat her like a human being, not some inferior creature who shouldn't overstep her boundaries by having a mind of her own.

Sometimes she wonders if her life would have been easier if she was as ignorant as her sisters. If her uncle never put those ideas in her head in the first place... Would she be as blissfully unaware and content with her role in society?

Cordelia has always been considered the "black sheep" of her family, not just for her independent thoughts and her slip-ups in social etiquette, but instead regarding her fondness for female company and her lack of interest in male suitors. From her father's point of view, how can he marry off a daughter who is repulsed by the idea of marriage and bearing children for a man? Both of them have grown bitter about it over the years, resulting in a shaky relationship today.
