Setting
Mitei's float spell finally wore off, and her and Reiko soon fell to the ground in a graceful manner, "It's nice to meet you." Mitei said bowing a bit before rising again, she didn't exactly know what to say, so she stood where she was silently waiting for someone to speak to her directly as she realized an air-bike was approaching on where she and Reiko were through her mana sense. She closed her eyes so she could picture it as Koro ran out towards the presence as she noticed the two on the bike through Koro's eyes. The demons from before, she though, kept her eyes closed, she was listening to the group, but also watching the airbike as it closed in on their position.
"You think you're the only one who could do something brash and stupid?!" Undine exclaimed and quickly raised her hand straight up, conjuring high velocity water sphere, preparing to unleash it at Kelovius. But Hikari grabbed the goddess of water's hand.
"No, Undine. Calm yourself" said the goddess of light.
Undine grunted and once again jerked her hand away. She stopped the sphere of water, releasing them as harmless rain on to the metropolis underneath.
Suddenly, the one who called himself the god of destruction flew up to them. "We need to band together to stop the Echanii." Guy stated flatly. Guy was being blunt. He eyed Kelovius but could see that he thought the same. "We need to locate a special artifact so I can reach my full power. Without all of us at full power the Echanii will succeedâ
Hikari and Undine eyed Guy, flustered. The two wasnât comfortable by him suddenly leaving in the mid of battle and suddenly appearing without any word of goodbyes and greetings.
âSo you are the new Mâtun?â Hikari asked. Without waiting for an answer, she continued âWell, Guy. We havenât made our mind yet whether we should join you or notâ.
Hikari turned to Undine for her oppinion. The god of water shook her head. Hikari turned back to Guy.
âWell, it seems that Undine and I will not be joining you. But be warned Guyâ she turned to Kelovius âand you too Keloviusâ she looked at the two âif any harm would to happen to any of Daughtrisâs kind subjects caused by any of you and your subordinates, you will have to answer to my wrathâ
âAs well as mineâ Undine said with a strict tone, a sharp frown was shaped with her brows.
Bella turned to the voice, wondering who did the unrecognizable voice came from.
âIâm sorry for the interruption, princessâ Elena apologized, bowing slightly from the airbike âI, Elena Akiyoshiâ
âAnd I Dante Abraxâ said Dante
âWe are representative from the lead Yakuza of Demotia and we want to volunteer with helping you with your questâ
Without hesitation, Bella answered âto whoever that wish to join, let us all go to the castle. Weâll talk thereâ
While Bella had her head turned, Gust whispered to Gabe with a friendly smile. âTell her, Iâll meet your group later. For now, Iâll settle the problem with Shiva on my ownâ
When the princess turned back, god of wind was already gone, flustering the princess.
At the temple, everyone has gathered and eyeing Gust. Byrce, the high priest walked forth. âIs this true? Are you the goddess Sylph?â
Gust smiled, ruffling the hair behind his head and blushing âI guess you can say that. But itâs Gust nowâ
Gust waved his hand up in an arc and the hall blew with strong wind which gave everyone a hard time to stand still. When Gust placed his hand down, the wind subsided.
Everyone kneeled down and bowed, acknowledging the god of wind for who he is.
âPlease, get upâ Gust said, panicking slightly.
Everyone stood up. âPlease, follow me. I will escort you to Shivaâ said Bryce
Gust followed Bryce and within a moment, they reached the statue which brought them to Shiva herself, still in the form of a small girl encased in ice.
Gust eyed Shiva. He had an awed expression with sparkling eyes. To Bryce, it looked like the first time that Gust seen the goddess of ice.
âAre you alright, God Gust?â
âOh yesâ Gust answered, looking flustered âIâm alrightâ
He turned back to ice encasing Shiva and walked up to it. He unsheathed his mace and put up his battle stance, his footing on the ground. It startled Bryce.
âNo, what are you doing?!â exclaimed the high priest, running towards Gust.
Gust swung his mace. When it touches the ice, time seemed to slow down. Then the ice turned to diamond like dusts. Shiva fell but Gust conjured wind, gliding her down slowly. He leaped up just before Bryce could catch him. The two guardians of Daughtris hovered in mid-air, Shiva still unconscious.
Gust gulped. His face flustered. âHere is goesâ he placed one hand behind Shivaâs head and the other on her back. His head leaned on to Shivaâs. A second later, their lips touched. The wind brought them down to the floor, landing feet first. Just as her feet touch the ground, her eyes opened. Shiva has awakened. Her expression quickly turned into anger and she pushed Gust away, covering her lips with her hand, turning away from Sylph's Kiss.
Bryce was watching them from a few feet away, overwhelmed with disbelief.
Thaqotul seemed to detach himself from the shadows behind Guy. "Hikari, is......is this what Palovala would have wanted?" He implored in a soft, caring voice, like a father to a daughter who has grazed her knee. "Your lover......he died for you so that you could defeat the Echanii, didn't he? He constructed a prism that could pierce through the Echanii's power. I know this because I foresaw it. I foresaw lots of things. The coming of Venash. Palovala's death. Bahamuts imprisonment. All of these came true. Now, you are right in saying that the end of the world by the Echanii's hand will not definately happen, however, what I am trying to say to you is that it will only definately happen if you do not act on it. The Echanii IS returning, that much is true.....I have felt it. However, that is not to say that he or she will win. To stop him or her, we need the prism again. We need the combined power of all the gods if we are to even have a chance. So, ask yourself again, as you deny these two creatures the chance of an alliance because of your prejudices against one of them, is this what Palovala would have wanted? Because if you do not act, Palovala's death, and the death of everyone who died in your name during the war with the original Echanii, will surely be in vain."
"Enough!" Hikari exclaimed, clenching her fist, now gritting her teeth from suppressing her rising emotions, trembling slightly "don't you dare speak of his name" she looked away, her brows knitted together and tear pooled under her eyes "we have made up our mind."
She could have gave a wide and broad speech on how Thaqotul was wrong and imprecise, but to her; none of it didn't matter any longer. Hikari turned around and jetted away in a flash. Undine glared at Kelovius and his companions. She then turned and chased after the goddess of light.
"let us go to Ostwyn's castle, Gabe. We have nothing more to do here" said Bella to her personal protector. Gabe nodded and steered the airbike down, followed by the two Demotians.
"are you three coming?" Gabe asked the Tutelians while he passed them, frowning displeased.
"He killed my children. He destroyed my home. But if I have to ban with him to stop the Echanii, so be it. Set aside your squable with Kelvious. For the good of our world." Guy said. He left them with that. He could kill Kuro after the Echanii was defeated. Guy lightly glided back to Kelvious and the others. "I showed them what happened at Blakcpyre. Maybe if they see me putting my anger aside for a while, they will too." Guy said.
"that new M'tun would not be a good influence to anyone" Hikari commented "I saw how his expression lighted up when parts of the metropolis was destroyed. He seems to enjoy destruction and even claims himself a god of it"
"I noticed" responded Undine
They continued heading south.
END of Sylph's Kiss
Thaqotul snarled "You think this is MY fault? You, with your arrogant swagger and your fascination with the God of Water......i'd go as far as saying this is your fault, actually."
"How dare you! I approached them with utmost respect and didn't pry into their affairs one bit, unlike you. But you know what women can be like...." Kelovius whined in protest.
"Oh?" Thaqotul chuckled "Arrogant AND sexist I see. I wonder what Undine would say about that."
Kelovius looked hurt "You have no right to talk about my......i mean....." he stammered, trying to correct himself.
" 'My......' what?" Thaqotul smiled cruelly "You were going to say 'My Undine' just then, weren't you? I see it isn't just the gods who are misguided. What is the world coming to, eh?"
"No....I was just.......I........JUST SHUT UP, OK?" Kelovius fumed "Stupid Blackpyre."
"Foolish Goldcrest." Thaqotul chided in response
They both turned their back on eachother with a childish 'Hrmmph!' Janice rolled her eyes "Men...." she despaired.
It was at that moment that Guy returned. He told them about what he had done to convince the gods, and Kelovius smiled in approval.
"Good thinking, Kiddo, at least someone here, apart from me, of course, has sense. Umm.....if you don't mind me asking, what happened at Blackpyre, exactly?"
"Kuro killed the majority of my people." Thaqotul said gruffly, his back still turned "Not that you care....."
Kelovius seemed to disregard the Wrym completely "Actually, I was just going to offer my apologies to Guy, both for his loss, and for the fact that you survived the incident." He snarled, and turned his back again.
Janice looked at Guy with a look of despair. "They had a bit of a temper tantrum whilst you were gone." she explained. She looked at the two wyrms and sighed. "You wouldn't think that they've lived for thousands of years, would you?"
