Loyal servant to the Ushiromiya family.
Alphonse is a very quiet and reserved man, honest and hardworking. He is nearly always serious, calm and logical when approaching a situation. He accepts his lower status as furniture and will obey any command issued to him, though he may attempt to question it if he feels it puts those he serves in danger. He has a very strong work ethic, and will even work late into the night, to fall asleep at his desk. He wants to be the best servant he can possibly be. If he receives even a tiny compliment from one of his employers, he will be happy for days. Emotion does not often show through, however- he keeps feelings buried underneath a serious exterior. When it comes to friendships, he forms stiff and formal relationships with those he serves, and steady working relationships with fellow servants. Rarely, if ever, does he loosen up or truly share his feelings with another. When it comes to love and relationships, Alphonse feels that he does not deserve to be loved, being only simple furniture. If someone were to fall in love with him, they would have to reach out to him and show enough kindness to melt his cold exterior, and turn his values upside-down as to get him to admit to himself that he was in love with them, too. As a partner, he would be very protective, perhaps not showing as much affection, but would be selflessly devoted and doggedly loyal.
Likes: quiet places (easier to work!), eveningtime, mashed potatoes and gravy, reading (old books in particular, though he'll read anything he can get his hands on), old movies, rain but not storms, and being praised or deemed worthy by those he serves.
Dislikes: loud or rowdy places, very bright colors, being trapped in small places, cigarettes and smoking, and rats.
Not much is known about Alphonse's history or early life, as he is furniture. He currently resides on Rokkenjima, to serve the Ushiromiya family. Before that, he lived near George's family, helping them with paperwork and bills, and occassionally cleaning their house for them.
