Lily of the Ushiromiya house.
Sylvie largely inherited her parents' personality traits- she is softspoken and a bit shy. She is a kind soul and has a good heart, caring very much for her family members. She would never do something purely out of spite. If she dislikes someone, rarely will she let on. She is polite and courteous to people when she first meets them, but takes some time to warm up to them. Not terribly outspoken, nor is she stubborn- if someone were to contribute an idea that was better than hers, she would most likely cave right away. Highly guided by emotions rather than logic. When it comes to friendship, she likes to surround herself with supportive types, Ā and those that will be likely and able to help her and guide her. Sylvie did inherit a bit of her grandmother's personality, however- this only appears when around those she knows, however. She can be a bit cynical, even critical, though again, to see this is rare. She may harbor such thoughts about others, but only shares them with close friends or family. When it comes to romance and relationships, Sylvie prefers a loving partner whom she can also trust. She herself can be touchy-feely and would prefer to be with someone similar- if she were ever in a relationship with someone that was more aloof, or did not show much affection, she would immediately feel that her partner no longer loved her. This is rooted in Sylvie's biggest flaw- her lack of self-confidence. She feels that she cannot possibly be the head of the family because she would not be competent enough. She shies away fromĀ tryingĀ thingsĀ becauseĀ sheĀ fearsĀ thatĀ sheĀ 'wouldn't be good enough'. Though she may appear somewhat shallow, Sylvie is rather intelligent- again, her evident lack of confidence holds her back from doing many things.
Likes: summertime or whenever the weather is warm and sunny, earth tones, smoothies, fruit (favorite: strawberries), swimming, watching romance movies (as long as they have a happy ending), flowers, and generally being outdoors.
Dislikes: winter or whenever it is cold outside, rainy days, bitter foods and the flavor of ginger, the color grey, and spiders.Ā
Things she brings with her to Rokkenjima~
ā¢ clothes (predominantly dresses and sandals)
ā¢ her mother's ring (given to her upon graduating high school; this she always wears on her right-hand ring finger)
ā¢ a gun, for self-defense (she knows basically how to use it)
ā¢ a few mystery and romance novels
ā¢ other... the usual travel necessities, not as important here~
Sylvie is the daughter of Shannon and George. Therefore, Eva and Hideyoshi are her grandparents- though she never knew them, as they died on Rokkenjima before she was born. She was raised lovingly by her parents, and taught to be kind to others- a big reason that she developed the type of personality she has today. Sylvie was lucky enough to have a rather normal childhood, and it wasn't until she was thirteen that her parents told her about what occurred on Rokkenjima many years before. At first, she did not believe it. It seemed like a ridiculous fantasy story to her. But, as she grew older, she started to become more interested in it. She did some research into the event, and slowly she uncovered several old articles. This led her to question... what causes these horrific deaths? She could not possibly believe that it was caused by one of her family members, so she investigated the alternate theory- magic. She is not entirely sure if she believes it, but she is not opposed to the notion either. After high school, she planned to attend college and go into journalism. She is twenty years old when she receives the letter inviting her to Rokkenjima.Ā
