Oris Ryuptee

A chosen one of the (damn) prophets.

0 · 222 views · located in Halo Universe - Unknown Space

a character in “Halo: Rise of Warriors”, as played by Comrade Vacilli

Description

An average Sangheili in the terms of physical appearance, being 7"4 and weighing roughly 340 pounds. The only "different" feature is his dark red eyes that were replacements after an accident during training. Unlike the mass majority of the Sangheili, he rather keep his men alive, even the Unggoy, however insignificant and cowardly they are. However, he does have disgust for the "Brutes", but rather show indifference then get involved in the politics and take a stand with either side. Years of training and experience enables him to overpower most humans in hand-to-hand combat and even some "brutes" but has yet to beat a "Demon" in hand to hand, only have killed one with the concentrated fire power of his squad. However, due to the accident where he lost his eyes, he sometimes has temporary blindness, sometimes in the middle of combat, and may feel nauseous later, a fact kept secret from the higher ups. Scars crisscross over his chest, due to training with live weapons and fights with "Brutes" who challenged him once after a bloody battle.

Personality

Once a fanatical soldier in the service of the "Prophets", he accepted the teachings about the "Great Journey" and how the Forerunners were holy. After years of steady fighting and training he has come to be disillusioned, ever since the start of the Harvest Campaign where his unit was sent to clean up the "Brutes" mess and instead found Five Years of hell where the Humans fought hard and won. Oris managed to get away in time as the Covenant retreated. He developed a respect for the Humans, and kept that and his abandonment of the religion secret. After several more years of fighting, he was chosen to be a secretive Special Operation officer and spent his time drilling his unit and making sure that they wouldn't break or die as fast. not under his command. He even had the "grunts" properly trained and equipped to the point they wouldn't run away and could actually fight opponents without support. When the overall leader of the unit was killed, he quickly took up leadership during combat earning the trust and respect of his men and managed to lead them towards Covenant lines and keep them all alive. He'd rather retreat then die in the middle of nowhere. He stopped caring about honor and was considering surrendring once when the humans overran his position, but then reinforcements arrived driving them away. After quelling some Heretics and assinating some generals and quietly sabatoging space stations and outposts, he was deemed ready to scout out the Halo. He also forgives, but doesn't forget what happened.

Equipment

Beining of noble birth, he was trained with weaponry the first chance he could and perfected his aim and swordfighting. He earned a reputation with his unit on Harvest for his close range and long range fighting, killing marines before they knew it. His personal preference is what the humans dubbed, " The Energy Swords" and the Carbine. If he has to kill someone from a long range, he uses the Beam Rifle to blow heads clean off. He also uses the outdated Plasma Repeater and time to time the Needle rifle. But now as he is a Spec Ops, he uses the Plasma Rifle, and some more easily concealable equipment.

History

Born about 20 years before the Second Battle of Harvest, he lived a brutal life, training and fighting to prepare for the eventual conscription into the Covenant Armed Forces. It was during this time during training, his friend accidentally slashed the training sword which was heated so a hit would feel like a burn, too close to Oris's face and he lost his eyes. His familly was forced to let doctors come and operate and they transfered eyes from a recently deceased donor. A doctor accidently dropped it in a vat of harmless chemicals, but the color had changed to blood-red. However, it served its purpose, and intimidated others. As he was of noble-birth and demostrated good fighting skills, he was placed as third-in-command of a large unit and sent to fight on Harvest. Within days, his unit made progress, pushing into Human held territory fast. Then it all went wrong when the Spartans came and during a raid on a human outpost, and many of the unit was killed after 5 years of fighting. He managed to rescue a few survivors as the humans hunted them down. The order for a retreat was given by the High-Command and they managed to get on the last Phantoms taking off. After some years of fighting and being promoted constantly, he was offered the revered position of the Honor Guard, but refused claiming he was not worthy. The Council was not too pleased and warned it could be called heresy by fanatics. Either way, he was forced to accept the postion of Special Operations, a role he did not like at all, but took it and trained his men under the eye of his commander. His first misson went fine, to hunt down hertics. Then the next few were to retreive artifacts. Then during one such misson, he saw his first Spartan in combat, but managed to reach the objective and leave with all him men alive. But an ambitious zealot sent his men and commander to kill the Spartan. It was going well, having killed most of the Marines accompanying it, but the Spartan managed to wipe out the Commanders men as they had spread out to outflank him, and then moved on to Oris's squad. He drew his energy sword and with the few remaning men, charged, but his men wern't trained in hand-to-hand and most of them were killed or incapciated. The Commander threw a gernade distarcting it long enough for Oris to crawl away and open fire with a beam rifle hitting the Spartan square in the head and it died. A phantom later came to retreive the few men who were left as he lead them to the extraction zone. It turned out the zealot did it without orders, but promoted Oris for being silent and promised not too talk about the problem of Oris and a very heretical saying from Oris. The Prophets then sent him to Halo and scout it out and retreive any aritifacts at any cost.

Note- The friend in question is another of my OC, Oris Vadumee, my old OC who leads the Forsaken, a mercenary squad of people who abandond the relgion, but have a deal with the prophets of compelting any misson without complaint and even paid for their services. All made of death-row prisoners. Also note if this new character dies, Vadumee will take over.

So begins...
