Bright-eyed and acutely aware of her surroundings, Princess Latika can sense trouble from a mile away, and she uses her quick mind and nimble feet to get out of it.
People who don't know the royal family very well might make the false assumption that the king has eleven daughters. Around strangers, Latika becomes painfully shy and often completely mute, and sometimes she won't show her face around a newcomer at all. Even when she warms up to someone, she is known to speak very little. While good-natured, she is mild-mannered and usually has something on her mind. Luckily, as one of the youngest daughters, she doesn't have to do much in public but look cute and behave.
Latika is slow to trust, so her friends are few - and she likes it that way. She seeks solitude above the ground - in trees, on rooftops, wherever. Sometimes, she'll disappear into the gardens for hours at a time just to have a place to think. Usually, she only relays these thoughts to her oldest sisters. Otherwise, she keeps all of her thoughts and feelings to herself.
Ever since she was little, adults have been surprised by Latika's quick wit and keen eye. Nothing goes over her head; she takes in every minute detail, analyzing and storing it for future use, even if there is no apparent use for it. Often, she uses the information she gathers to learn about people and decide whether she can trust them. She likes to people-watch, but only from a safe distance.
For the most part, Latika has very good self-control for her age. However, sometimes the nine-year old in her shows through when she really, really wants something. When it comes to confrontation, she is practical rather than bold; if she can run, she will. If she has to lie, cheat, or steal in the name of good, she will. In fact, her stealth has paid off many times in the past. She's very good at sneaking around without being detection; that combined with her sharp eyes makes her the perfect little spy.
For her age, Princess Latika is incredibly bright and pragmatic, but her timid, reserved nature keeps her from saying what's on her mind.
Latika keeps very few belongings on her person, preferring to travel light. However, she is rather superstitious, and keeps little trinkets on her person to fend off ghosts and the like.
Latika was born May 4, 981. As a small child, she was easily frightened and usually clung to one of her older sisters. When she grew, though, she learned how to use logic to put her fears to rest. Although she doesn't remember much of her mother at all, and she doesn't believe in the monsters under her bed, she still keeps the trinkets the queen gave her to fend of such demons. At nine years old, she doesn't have much of a history, but her journey will change all of that.
