With a round face and wide eyes, Theo looks more or less like a middle schooler. And of course, having an under-average height doesn't help. In terms of clothes, he also wears pretty much what a normal teenage boy would wear (which, of course, also doesn't help)-- hoodies or graphic t-shirts, jeans, and sneakers. As you can see, there's really nothing necessarily special about his appearance. Perhaps his messy hair that he never combs might spark attention, or the stud on his left ear that he got when he was eighteen; but other than that, his appearance is completely average.
- xx ◞♡⇣ :: PERSONALITY xx
- Theo is very nice, though also very childish. He hasn’t exactly realized that he’s an adult now—or rather, he’s realized but tries to pretend that he’s still a kid. Because of this, Theo can act very melodramatic and tends to overreact quite a lot. He also has a somewhat short temper, especially when someone criticizes his life choices or his height.
He greatly enjoys acting, but never wants to put himself out there and audition, due to his low confidence and his laziness. Theo is also very creative and inventive, but refuses to use these talents, for the exact same reasons.
The thing is, though, Theo still pretends like he has confidence. He doesn’t like anyone pitying him (nor does he want anyone to laugh at him), so he often tries to act tougher and cooler than he actually is. Also, given Theo’s circumstances, he’s become rather frugal and will practically do anything for money (other than… y’know… getting an actual job…).
- xx ◞♡⇣ :: HISTORY xx
- As a child, Theo was in all sorts of musicals and plays. He loved the spotlight, and of course, the spotlight loved him. In fact- everyone loved him. As a smart and talented kid, life was very easy. And though his classes got harder as he entered middle school, it was still a breeze for him.
However, that all changed in high school. Suddenly, Theo found himself actually having to try. He absolutely hated it. He hardly understood anything—and with each semester, he became less and less confident in himself (of course, I’m sure this could have all been avoided if he actually learned how to study, but Theo lacks common sense). After two years of “failing” grades (B’s and C’s, mostly), he came to the conclusion that he was not good enough and decided to give up entirely. After all, why should you even bother to try when you know you’ll fail?
As a talented actor, Theo could easily lie to his parents. He weaved lies, telling them how well he was doing, coming home from school at times with a wide smile, enthusiastically telling them how “easy that test was”. He continued these lies throughout high school.
Once he graduated (with barely-passing grades), Theo decided to go to the local community college. It seemed easy, and had a great performing arts program. He thought it would be wonderful… But of course, seeing all of those talented actors around him made Theo’s confidence lessen even more. Before entering the program, he never had to compete for a role before. The leading roles were almost always guaranteed to him as a kid. Just like before, Theo suddenly didn’t want to even try auditioning. He assumed the other actors were better far than him.
Theo tried to stay in the program, loathing the competition and the people around him, but eventually could not take it anymore. He quit at the end of his second year and fled to a small, run-down apartment in the city. He lied to his parents, saying that he had been accepted into a fancy performing-arts college so they wouldn't be ashamed.
Nowadays, Theo spends his time watching movies, occasionally filming his own, and cooking the usual college-staple meals (ramen, microwave dinners, etc). He lives off of the measly check that his parents send him every month. Theo’s parents also pay for his cell phone bill (his phone is a very old flip-phone, by the way). He has no friends and no more goals in life, though guilt is starting to stir inside him.
Perhaps this guilt will spark a change soon?
