His entire life, Itani has been the quiet underdog. Preferring a book to swordplay and fearing most social interaction, he has a small smile for everyone but very few words. He tries to be kind no matter the circumstance, but usually lets his brother do the talking. He relies very heavily on his brother, and without him around will often doubt himself and be unable to make decisions.
Due to his past, Itani has a very low self-esteem and will often put himself down. He also crumbles under things like intimidation, and due to the fact he’s so easily startled or frightened, that’s not hard to do. He blushes easily and has trouble looking people in the eye. When someone befriends Itani however, he becomes very cheerful and open, and puts his friends second only to his brother.
Description
With shaggy reddish-brown hair, average height, and auburn eyes, Itani and his twin Ryoya are basically identical. The only differences between them are Itani is slightly paler from less time outside, and a bit thinner. For most people they could easily be confused. Though not unattractive, Itani lacks the confident air that most people are drawn to. He often has the appearance of one who has not gotten enough sleep.
Preferred Clothing
Itani prefers to dress plainly, though of course he is still a prince and has a relatively expensive wardrobe. He often has wrinkles in his clothes when left to his own devices, and cares little about his own appearance. He usually wears black pants along with various shirts, preferring the color white to anything, and only dresses formally when he absolutely has to.
Skills & Weapons
Never having been one for combat, Itani carries a small hidden dagger only because he’s forced to. The blade is coated with poison. He has fantastic analytical skills and a superb memory, though they rarely come in handy.

Itani is both very clever, and very kind. He often wins people over with his gentle nature and, when he actually talks, intriguing conversation.
Distinguishing features
Itani has a scar on the outside of his hand that stretches from his wrist to his knuckles, covering the entire right side of his hand and ending just before it reaches his palm.
History
When the Lossane twins were born, Itani came in second. As such, he grew up without the pressure to really excel. Though not sickly, he was weak and cried very easily. He often could not keep up with his older twin Ryoya. When the boys were but two, their mother gave birth to another son, but his father was not the king. Nonetheless, Itani considered him family, and the half-brother was basically put in their care.
When they were around 6 years old however, the four year old Komal began to show some alarming behavior. When Ryoya was away, he would often harass Itani, forcing him to play games that caused injury and using cruel language that far outweighed the typical capacity for one so young. It was then that Itani began using his stronger, more charismatic brother for support, a habit he never really grew out of.
When the twins were 8, Komal accidentally burned Itani’s hand when trying to frighten him. Forever scarred, Itani developed a terrible fear of fire from the incident. Komal, realizing this, often used this to his advantage, only cementing Itani’s phobia.
As they got older however, Komal began to turn his eyes towards gaining a leg over Ryoya. Ryoya also had caught on and rarely left Itani alone, giving him no place to vent his frustrations. When he was 12 and the boys 14, he disappeared. The twins’ mother, thinking their closeness had driven their poor younger brother away, never forgave them.
