Erling unpacked his belongings. Shawnee was no longer on the front steps of the girls cabin by the time he was finished. He went outside and walked about for awhile, enjoying the warmth of the sun on his skin. He spotted a blonde girl amidst the trees and slowly walked up to her.
"Hey," he said. "are you a huldra by any chance?"

Corey jumped at the sound of a male voice and slowly turned to look at him. He asked if she was a huldra and she internally kicked herself. Why didn't she understand anything anyone she'd met so far was talking about? She raised a dainty brow curiously and smiled slightly.

"Huldra?" She challenged, hoping he'd be as gracious as Shawnee had been and explain what he was referring to.

"While out at sea one time," he said. "Our captain was a man with a high opinion of himself. He was actually a fool and a terrible leader. The crew members feared him. At one point me and some others just decided to go up against his orders. He threatened to have us thrown off board, but it was the most fun we ever had."

"Your life has been far more interesting than mine so far," Corey mused with an entertained smile. She nodded when he suggested to go back and wondered what camp gruel they'd be feasting on tonight. Despite the low quality, she was looking forward to the meal because she hadn't had anything to eat since last night. It was getting closer to sunset and the bugs were starting to bite, making Corey glad they were heading indoors. She'd have to remember to put on bug spray later so she didn't look like a bitten mess by the end of the Summer.
