Description

Name: Violet

Species*: Shuroom

This is a species of fungus based creatures known as Shurooms that used to inhabit the world of Coresil in a separate reality.

This species is a close relative to many species of more benign mushrooms however despite their similarities there are a number of major differences that set this particular type of mushroom apart from the rest. The main difference is that Shurooms are fully capable of moving an performing actions within the same level of capability as most humanoids. Shurooms are also different in that they are capable of absorbing magic, a force which bleeds into many different realms including Coresil. As Shurooms absorb magic they grow in size, not terrifyingly fast mind you but without an upper limit.

Another difference of Shurooms is that they are a very rapidly growing and invasive species. They can emit up to six spores every month which will each grow into a full Shuroom in under twenty four hours. While not the fastest spawning fungus it can fight for resources to grow in a very literal fashion. Shurooms have been known to spread far due to their ability to walk about and have destroyed many ecosystems worth of flora by leeching nutrients away from the land.

Ever since their predecessors were subject to residual magic auras which caused them to mutate into this new species they had left their caverns which used to house their kind and roamed the land, simply existing and expanding wherever they went. When dangers arose that one of them couldn't handle then they would band together to defeat the obstruction. This element of cooperation soon lead to them developing their own form of communication, growing more advanced as a primitive civilization. This method of communication was a series of light flashes from their glowing cores not too dissimilar to morse code but combined with shifting colors and hues to create an intricate pattern that formed precise messages.

Of course when they discovered they had a taste for magic they started seeking out magical items, locations and creatures to drain. This put a number of native species to extinction since they would grow larger as they absorbed more magic. Naturally the wizards who inhabited the land were most concerned as they discovered this highly destructive fungi.

The major race that inhabited the land were elves, humanoids who are slightly taller than humans and possess far greater reflexes coupled with an innate magical talent. The elves realized far too late that this species was a threat to their collective safety and before too long 'The Spore War' took place. It was a violent and bloody battle, much elven blood was spilt in their struggle to fight the Shurooms back. Ultimately humans intervened and helped them drive this species nearly to extinction like the Shuroom have done to many others.

Violet is the last Shuroom.

Abilities**:

Size:

Shurooms can grow to about any size. Starting their lives at about roughly the size of a small house cat this species of fungi can grow without any size limit to just how large it can be. The only limitation that inhibits their growth is how much magic they absorb. This growth much unlike their natural growth to adulthood is very slow, often taking months before any noticeable difference of size can be observed but the maximum height and weight a Shuroom can obtain is practically unlimited, save for environmental limitations such as walls or the sky.

Though it is not commonly practiced amongst Shurooms if they need to reduce their size for practical needs they can release the magic stored within them in a cloud of inert spores which soak up the magic inside them before being expelled and wafting throughout the air. These spores do tend to stick to mucous membranes and expand in moist environments. These spore's mildly adhesive quality has led many living creatures to suffocate upon inhaling these spores as they stick to the inside of the lung and expand to the size of peas, filling up the lungs and asphyxiating the recipient.

After releasing their magic via a cloud of magically charged spores they will shrink down at about the same speed they grow. It should be noted that Shurooms cannot absorb magic back from these spores as the spores act a lot like they do, absorbing the magic and trapping it within to fuel their expansion. Unlike a fertile Shuroom spore however these inert spores will never mature into Shurooms.

At the point at which this story takes place Violet is about ten feet tall and weighs roughly a thousand pounds.

Strength:

The composition of their bodies make them very fibrous and hard resulting in tremendously powerful limbs. A Shuroom can lift up to twenty times it's own weight though such strength varies between them. At Violet's own strength it can lift eight times it's own weight. It isn't particularly strong for it's kind.

Regrowth:

A Shuroom can grow back from the largest remaining section of their form no matter how small the piece left behind might be. It takes a Shuroom roughly twenty four hours to regrow from a piece of itself no larger than a human's thumb. There are a number of limitations to this particular ability of theirs however.

They only grow back from the largest remaining piece of them while the other sections simply rot away unless they are reconnected to their proper position in a timely manner. A Shuroom will only grow back to it's currently determined size, never larger. If the core, the nervous center through within which it's mind resides, is destroyed then the Shuroom will simply fall inactive until the core regrows.

Magical Absorbtion:

The trait which earned the most ire from the inhabitants of Coresil, the Shurooms can all absorb magical energy from any source whether it be spells, items or even living beings. All varieties of magic can serve as sustenance for a Shuroom, regardless of it's nature. Even fire magic can be absorbed by them with little harm to them. Supernatural powers that run off a magical source are also available for absorption. When absorbed the magic is stored in it's core where it is harmless. The magical energy is used to fuel their growth, allowing these normally fast growing fungi to slowly increase their preset growth limit so they can become bigger than their bodies would allow otherwise.

While they do have apertures that resemble toothless mouths along the rim of their caps these mouth's purposes are not for communicating nor for consuming nutrients. These mouth's are for swallowing smaller magical items so they can be stored in a chamber within the cap where they are bathed in a bluish saplike fluids that help suppress the item's more dangerous qualities while helping absorb the magic from aforementioned items.

Unique Senses:

The species of Shurooms's senses have evolved to best suit their particular environment which were dark caves for many years. Their senses are all quite keen, the sharpest amongst them being sight and smell. They are very sensitive to light which allows them to identify even the faintest glow while in absolute darkness. As they filter air through themselves they are very sensitive to chemicals present in the air they breath, allowing them to pick up very faint scents.

Their sense of touch is quite dull throughout a Shuroom's body with the exception of their hands and feet. Seeing as their hands and feet are roots they serve as both limbs and methods of extracting nutrients from soil. As such, the finger and toe roots of a Shuroom are very sensitive while possessing a keen sense of taste as well. As sensitive as their limbs are they can feel the vibrations of sound through the surfaces they touch, allowing them to interpret sound through them.

Weaknesses**:

Natural Fire:

Fire, the great equalizer for most plant life. Fire is one of the few elements which can destroy them completely, leaving nothing behind to grow back from. Only natural fire will do however as Shurooms are quite capable of draining the magic from magical fire, thus extinguishing it.

Psychic/Chi Powers & Natural Abilities:

Psionic energies as well as Chi are forces that are born within the being that possesses them. While most magic, even inherent magic, have an outside source which Shurooms have adapted to absorb energies drawn from psychics or chi drawn upon by martial artists are foreign to the Shurooms and thus aren't consumable. Natural abilities that don't use any form of magic or supernatural force are also exempt from absorption.

It's Fingers/Toes:

While most of it's body only feels a very dull sense of pain the ends of it's roots are more sensitive and thus experience pain more keenly than the rest of it. Having it's fingers and toes damaged is a very unpleasant experience for it.

It's Core

It's core is relatively well protected given it's position but if damaged sufficiently the whole Shuroom would simply collapse, unable to think until the core grows back again.

Background:

Violet is a young Shuroom. It was born roughly during the latter half of The Spore War. It carried memories of armies marching over elven cities. Towering Shurooms crushing fluted towers of golden metal, hordes of Shurooms trampling terraces and carpets of little Shurooms like itself simply scurrying out of the way trying not to get stomped down by the feet of their larger kin.

It remembered the first magical item it ate. It was a beautiful scepter crafted from sleek metals that were smooth to the touch seemingly woven over a haft of wood that didn't appear worked. It was as though the wood was magically morphed into a perfectly straight rod. Mounted at the very end was a lustrous red gem that was perfectly cut, the light dancing across it's facets every time it hit a ray from the sun that poured in from the shutters of the room it was in. The scepter was extremely rich tasting, an exquisite flavor without compare. Unlike many of it's fellow sporelings it would grow and soon join the Shurooms that walked above the elves rather than below.

It could recall the event in which the highest of elven magi banded together to try and stop their forces. They formed a circle and the earth shook violently as though it were going to break apart beneath them. In response their largest Shurooms dug their roots in and formed a tight net throughout the ground that held the earth firm. Despite the power of their magic the volcano these elves had attempted to summon never came to be and better yet the Shuroom giants had absorbed the magic from the very spell, becoming even larger.

Violet itself had even participated in some of the combat that took place. An elven warrior with centuries of practice to draw upon slashed furiously at it's tough cap only to watch with growing horror as his sword, the tool which had served him so faithfully over countless years, lost all of it's magic within the first three or so strikes. At that point he continued to fight but it was a fight he was going to lose. The small gashed his now lifeless weapon carved were beginning to close before his very eyes and even though he could dodge it's unskilled swipes he was losing hope of ever winning this battle. No matter what direction he went there were more Shurooms and if he ran they would only continue until they finally got what they came for. In the end he managed to bury the blade into Violet's cap down to the hilt before getting caught caught with a slap. He was driven to the ground by the force of the blow before Violet hammered him flat with it's bare fists. The sword was stuck in it for a whole day before it's body pushed the weapon out and sealed the wound.

The elves had little choice in the matter. A civilization which had ruled the land was now at it's mercy. Millions of lives dwindled to thousands and then to hundreds. Burying their pride they begged the human kingdoms to assist them in their darkest hour. With the remainder of the elven kingdom in debt to them the humans agreed and came to fight the Shuroom menace.

The humans brought with them fire. A sea of red flames danced as they brought torches to burn the infestation away. Large vehicles of wood and metal launched rocks wreathed in flames into their ranks. Violet remembered the devastation mankind not only to them but the forest in general. All the humans left in their path were ashes. Nature suffered with every step the humans took into the elven forest.

Thus the Shuroom horde was slowly but surely destroyed, their largest Shurooms reduced to burning heaps by clouds of burning arrows interspersed with fiery rocks. Violet saw the shear volume of death the fire brought and felt a gripping fear deep within. It ran as the last remaining cluster of Shurooms were put to the torch.

In it's misfortune it was caught by the elves that were left. Despite the fierce animosity they felt towards the Shuroom their strong tie to nature won over, staying their hand from extinguishing the last remaining member of their race. Instead they chose to imprison Violet in another dimension where it would harm their world no longer.

In this prison Violet was forced to stay for some years. It was kept malnourished so it was always too weak to try and break free. Whenever it came time to release it's spores the guards would always gather them up before they've fully grown and destroyed them each time. Violet was distraught by the treatment it was subjected to. It tried to understand but it simply couldn't conceive of what it had done to deserve this kind of abuse.

In it's stay it learned much about them however. While it did not understand the guard's language it could tell how they interacted, how they acted. It developed a rudimentary understanding of the smaller humanoids over the time it had spent amongst them.

Then the guards disappeared. At first Violet was confused. The guards never fed it very well but it's meals always came in routinely. When no food came it eventually grew more and more desperate. It needed to eat. In peril of dying out of starvation Violet hit at it's massive metal door. Though as weak as it was it managed to break free after enough strikes. We begin our story here as Violet escapes it's cell.

So begins...

Violet

It was perfectly dark save for the light purple bioluminescent glow it emitted. It looked down the left hall. There were doors lining a stony grey hallway, many of them smaller than it's door which lay crumpled on the ground in front of it. It looked down the right hall. More of the same. It's glow shifted to a strong yellowish orange color as it felt uncertain of it's path. It's color reflected a tone of desperation in it hence why the color was as vivid as it was. Whichever way it decided to go, it needed to find food soon. It was starving and it took quite a lot of effort just to beat it's six inch thick metal door down. It felt quite ill from just how hungry it was.

At random it picked the left path to travel down. It flickered from it's general violet color to a very light blue as it's body ached from a lack of proper sustenance. In it's feet in the distance it could feel the vibrations in the ground in a rhythmic walking pattern. If it'd had to have guessed it would of assumed it was some form of humanoid given the tone and the rhythm at which it moved. Not long after it had felt the sound traveling through the stone floors of the compound it picked up a scent. It was a most delicious scent, one that it was well familiar with.

Magic.

It picked up it's pace, lumbering forward with purpose now as it was drawn by the intoxicating smell of something magical. What it approached was a small cluster of humanoids standing together just down the hall. From most appearances these figures were human but given the diverse number of occupants it has seen brought and kept in this place it knew better than to simply judge humanoids off their appearance.

It knew it couldn't sneak up on anything in as dark an environment as this given the fact that it glowed. It would be pointless to try and take these small human looking entities by surprise so it didn't make any attempt to. It also knew that it had no idea what these strangers were capable of. It knew little of the idea behind prisons but this cavern seemed to host a whole variety of unique creatures, many of which were human in appearance which made things confusing for it. Stepping up with caution it decided to hail the strangers before it would decide just what to do next.

It's core glowed orange and it gave a series of flashes in a precise pattern. There was one short flash followed by two longer flashes, the spaces in between flashes being as long as the flashes themselves. Quick flashes were barely a second long while longer flashes tended to last precisely three seconds. For those who understood it's language it was a clear message of warning.

It's core shifted to a faintly orange tinted yellow color and proceeded to flash again. This time it was one short flash followed by two longer flashes which was followed by one more short flash. What it was trying to tell them was that it didn't want to fight. While it was driven quite heavily by hunger it was a still a reasoning and logical fungus based creature. It's desire to discuss matters with others and avoid conflict since it was particularly weak right now was high and it simply wasn't confident that it could win against a large a group as this, especially since it knew little about their capabilities. Only two entities present seemed to possess magical energy, the closest of which seemed to conceal itself in the darkness.

It awaited to see how they'd respond. It was far enough that it might be able to escape if it thought they were too dangerous for it to beat. Violet was starving but it didn't glow the purple color of wisdom because it was reckless. It knew better than to jump into a fight without knowing what to expect.

Ilona reaches out to stop the girl as if she were about to fall. "Don't worry I got you." She said with a caring smile. "Are you ok?"

She then looks over and sees the creature. She stands there studying it.

Reien noticed that her sudden arrival seemed to have set something off amongst the others. For one, the glowing man appeared to be stricken with panic at the combined presence of the entities among him. He tried to run past the direction Reien came from but ended up colliding with her. As Reien slowly picked herself up, she noticed that some of her strands had blood on them. It appeared to have injured the man but, she thinks he'll live.

"Still the oddest one out of us around here though so if he was wary of us, then the others may not be what they seem yet..." She glanced at the others.

"Don't come any closer..." The teenaged girl takes a stance that was strangely familiar. It was the same stance that the people she "experimented" on before drawing their last breath. It was an obvious act of defiance. Nevertheless, this situation doesn't really call for infighting. The other girl helped this human up as she almost fell.

"I'm just passing through..." Reien uttered as she cautiously made her way past the two girls, whose back was turned to the corridor she needs to pass through, placing her hands in her skirt pockets as a show of non-aggression. It was a bluff however, as those who are aware of what she truly is can attest to.

As she neared the two girls, she felt a new presence enter. Turning her back, she spotted a mushroom-like creature sending out signals of light to them. Was it its way of communication? Reien wasn't sure. Even if it is, there's no way she can decipher it. She took a step back, almost near the other girls and observed the glowing man and the mushroom at the same time. If worst comes to worst, she wondered if she was to fight or not.

"As much as i would like to stay and help I need to find a to escape." She says as she puts her hand on the wall. Where she places her hand it glows red. She then moves her hand and blows. A small portion just big enough for one person is blown away like dust. "Come if you want." This was her chance. She may be able to get them to follow her so they can all leave. Or she might die.

Emma shrugged off the help almost fearfully, pressing herself against the opposite wall and closing her eyes as if trying to compose herself, which was certainly what she was attempting to do. She took deep breaths for a few seconds before reevaluating her surroundings, not surprised to find a giant mushroom at one end of the hall, and Ross slowly bleeding out where Reien had left him. A brief moral impulse seized on her; she wasn't a bad person despite all that she'd done after all, and it was certainly something of a fluke that he'd injured himself.

So when Reien passed and Ilona blew a wall away, she spoke quietly, "He's hurt..." she says as she rushes to his side, kneeling down next to him and evaluating his wounds. She'd learned after excruciating trial-and-error how to use her abilities for healing, but it still wasn't something she was entirely sure of. She looks up at the fungus... thing for a moment and waves meekly, not sure if the thing was hostile or not, "Um, hi."

Not fazed by this too much, she started to bit by bit, reconstruct Ross' flesh out of particles from the air. It was extremely slow, and took almost all of her focus to keep the immense energy that the atomic fusion -necessary for the task- caused dissipating. When she was done after about five minutes, and of course he didn't wake up immediately, she stood a bit nervously, not sure if she'd done it right.

As Spinx waited above the small group more 'people' began to funnel in, bringing the congregation to six creatures including him. Apart from light-boy and the blonde-haired girl who had been here first, two more females joined the group as well as a mushroom of some sorts that emitted a purple light. Light. While still indistinguishable from other shadows around him, the shadows would disappear if too much more light came in, revealing him. Sliding slowly along the wall, he streamed through the cracks in the plaster, concrete, and steel. Pooling unnoticed in this small crenelations, Sphinx watched more.

Light-boy began to panic, eyes taking a crazed state as he looked around him anxiously. Twitching, he ran towards auburn at full tilt. Tripping, he smashed face first into the girl's hair. As light-boy pulled away from auburn, blood dripped from his face, lacerations criss-crossing where hair had come in contact with skin. A most interesting power: it appeared her hair had become a weapon, sharp enough to cut someone from a simple brush against them. Whether she had control over them was yet to be established.

Light exploded from the boy. Silently shrieking in pain at the unexpected intrusion, Sphinx flew upwards and away, receding from the group. It didn't like surprises, especially ones such as that. He should have expected some sort of super-bright reaction at some point simply not here. It would need to be more careful lest the light reveal him as an extraneous shadow. Secrecy was everything. Crawling slowly back towards the group, the second blonde moved away, blasting a hole through a nearby wall shortly after placing her hand on it. So much destruction in this place. It suited him as long as there remained living creatures to terrorize.

Dropping to the floor along the walls, Sphinx chilled his form and began to surreptitiously move along the shadows on the floor, forming a ring around the three people. It avoided the mushroom creature. With no measure of its abilities other than glowing naturally, Sphinx was not sure whether it could harm him or not. Emanations from it felt similar to that of necromancers. They had foolishly assumed magic could keep shades trapped. The undead souls were not as simple as that, no. Tendrils crept up along the shadows on the bodies of the people, causing cold to seep into them. Reaching the ears of blonde and auburn, it began to whisper, a faint noise that would appear to come from nowhere. Time to see what he could do with these mortals.

Ross began to wake up. Yet, not in the Asylum he was once at. He awoke in some sort of all white room, with nothing but the strange light to guide him around it. It had the same architecture as the small commonplace hallway of the Asylum, with statues of the former beings that surrounded Ross. Suddenly, Ross began to hear voices, two of them.

One began to speak many languages into Ross's right ear, possibly to teach him to communicate with the other if he is to return to them. The other voice being strange whispers, with a strange sounding voice to them. Ross bounced some light signals (like radio waves) around the reconstructed room, hoping to find the source of them. The light signals pinged around the room, finding nothing to create the whispers. It was as though the whispers were an interference to Ross's subconscious. It seemed like it wasn't directed toward him, either...

Then, once the language-telling voice silenced, Ross kicked back into life. He looked around, to see that the original female he was following before was sitting in front of him, reconstructing his badly damaged face with, what seemed like, nothing. A strange mushroom beast was now there, too. The others, like the woman he tripped into and the others, were also there.

Ross, without even wanting to move from where he currently lay, sat up and made a sound;

"Ross Phei! "

The sound was what seemed to be human english. Something Ross didn't know he knew. Nay, it was the strange light that had made the noise, not Ross. Ross was just it's physical cage, a Husk, for it to play with and move around with. Suddenly, he began to hear the same interference-like whispers from the dreamstate...

...There was something very, very dark near them.

Reien watched on as one of the other girls blew away a portion of the wall just big enough for them to fit inside. "I see. Instead of going "around" the halls, attempting to escape by breaking "through" walls might yield better results." Her eyes moved back and forth between the mushroom and the new hole. Something about that rather large mushroom didn't sit well with her.

"I think I'll take up the offer--" As she was about to follow, an unusual sensation permeated throughout her body. It wasn't the cold of the place either. It was as if her own body temperature dropped down. She began to feel a little light-headed, prompting her to close her eyes.

Upon opening them, she found herself in her inner world: A collective imagery formed from her own memories and experiences. It was a small room with several closets and a full-body mirror. Behind her stood an exact copy of herself. She turned to face it, as soon as she heard it speak.

"For what purpose do you live?" It asked her. Before she could speak up, it showed her all of her past experiences in a fashion similar to viewing a film only, it was being played on the mirror. The first time she doubted herself, getting stabbed, the time she was among the bullied, even up to the point of her murders. Every grisly detail laid bare. "Was there any meaning to the series of actions you took? Was there a need to kill them? Would your life be any different had you let them live?"

"I...guess..." Reien answered back in her usual deadpan expression and tone though there was a bit of reluctance to it.

"I knew it. You feel no empathy. You lack any understanding of the things which makes us human." Her clone made its way towards her and whispered in her ear: "You're a monster, Misuzaki Reien-san. You are an existence that only serves its own needs: Unaccepted and redundant in the long run. It is best if you just disappear, don't you think?"

"Maybe so, but--" Reien immediately stabbed her image, piercing her thighs and wrists and raised her above. "It's exactly as you said: I'm no human."

Reien opened her eyes. She was back to this reality. She glanced at the mushroom, then at the other girl who was apparently helping the glowing man. Taking a step back, she walked towards the crack the other woman made. Just as she was about to disappear however, she muttered a few things which, thanks to the silence, was fairly audible.

"Your self-suggestion won't work on me. I have neither desire nor attachment to begin with. I have no qualms about disappearing right here and now but, that's a bridge I'll cross once I get there. Until then, I'll just have to keep moving for a bit." She glanced back at the entourage she was leaving. "Apparently, I've misjudged how many beings are currently in this area."

She caught up to the girl who created the crack. She wasn't sure whether or not to strike a conversation but, she isn't exactly the type who can keep one going anyway.

Violet

Unfortunately this chance meeting only served to make this situation all the more confusing. In a bit of a hectic bundle everyone was doing something else. One female had managed to break a part of the wall next to her with her hand, a curious technique but not exactly impressive to it. It had just finished smashing down a barrier far stronger than the stone that these walls comprised of earlier.

The female with light brown hair noticed it well but seemed more concerned with talking to the others or just speaking to herself. She seemed to smell slightly of magic, though it might of just been something near her. With multiple scents in the area it was difficult to tell if hers was genuine or simply a red herring. The one that glowed with magic had passed out after injuring himself before shining with a radiant flash. Due to this brilliant light illuminating this area there was a distortion around Violet for others to see. The light near it seemed to flow into it as it passively absorbed the magical light that was being emitted. It's whole body was bathed in the delightful taste of magic, just enough to whet it's appetite.

The female with very light blonde hair seemed to be the only one among them to of audibly acknowledged it even though it didn't understand the language she spoke. She then proceeded to do something that was far more impressive to it. She was healing flesh without using magic. It knew well of magical healing as well as natural regeneration and even healing others through chemical application but this was none of those. She was generating intense energy to create skin to patch the glowing one back up. Truly this was a prime example of just how little it knew of the worlds beyond and it knew the fact it did not know just as well.

There was one scent here that it could not locate immediately. Something was concealed in the darker portions of the room. Slowly stepping closer as to not make any sudden movements and startle the humanoids it approached them, it's violet bioluminescent light illuminating the area nearer to them. There it could now tell as certain shadows could be seen interacting oddly the light as opposed to the other shadows. It unnatural shadows seemed to have clung up to the humanoids so it seemed to Violet that it might be one of their doing. If that was so it was wary of trying to touch it in case it agitated the crowd all of a sudden.

It thought hard about trying to communicate with them, it's violet light growing deeper and more vivid in tone as it's pondering intensified. It recalled that humanoids sometimes gave items to each other and it seemed to make them happy. It thought that perhaps if it offered something to one of them then it might be able to win it's trust. It was amused by it's own clever use of non-verbal communication, shifting it's core to a pleasantly light green color. All that was left were minor details like what it was going to give and to who.

Looking around it looked towards the hole and came to a clever realization. There were rocks left over after that one humanoid blew open part of the wall. It figured that it could give on them one of those rocks and it would be suitable. Slowly and steadily it picked up a rock with great care as to how close it stood near the humanoids before turning to the very light blonde one with green eyes. It extended it's hand, it's palm upturned and open. In it's hand a piece of rubble sat, ushered towards her as it tried to indicate that it wanted her to have it.

It was time to wait and see just how successful it's attempt at interspecies diplomacy was.

Ilona went into the cell of the wall she just blew up. Scavenging the parts from inside. it was the back wall and it seems that whatever was in there left. I'm going to need a weapon. They may need some too. She seen the mushroom giving a rock to the teen. she laughed in her own head a little. then got the idea of making stone weapons. It did not take as long and took less energy. she picks up rocks of her own and melds them in her hands to make daggers and short swords. They arnt the best but they will due If she had a bit more components she could make a fire arm. "Anyone know how to use one of these?"

"You could throw them I guess..." Reien spoke up as Ilona picked up a rock from the debris of the wall she blew up. "Though it probably won't do much depending on what you'll use it against."

She watched the mushroom try to offer the stones to the blonde girl helping the glowing man up. "Is it trying to communicate?" Reien tried thinking of something. Whether or not it can understand human speech is unknown to her or not but, even if it did, it doesn't seem to be capable of answering back. So she took a smaller yet sharper piece and approached the three. She wrote on the ground, in a handwriting that was larger than her usual one, just so the words are visible enough to human or non-human eyes.

"Can you understand what we are talking about?" Reien wrote. She took a step back and checked out what was beyond the wall the other girl destroyed earlier. It was rather dark and so it was hard to see but Reien could feel that the temperature there was also colder. It's not the closed-off cold though. This one was--wind?

"Can anyone light the path going through here?" Reien addressed the others. She thought of the glowing man. After the healing session, she wondered if he was well enough to move. The strange feeling of being watched was still strong, and Reien wanted to get away from it as soon as possible.

Ankth further approached the group, his knife holster beginning to vibrate. He readied himself for either friends or foe. As he got closer, he steered away from the strange glowing woman.

"Hello, I come in... Peace," he said. His light grey skin glistening and his eyes darting. "Don't shoot!" he warned the strange human carrying some kind of weapon box. His holster began to vibrate even more, as his satchel began to float upwards, toward his hands.

Emma stood, somewhat drained from the extreme focus her task had taken. It seemed that no one had left quiet yet and that made her incredibly nervous, but it was also clear that they didn't mean her any immediate harm, though her mind would have her think that if her visions were any indicator. She tried to brush the shadows off as imaginary, but they were far more real than she expected. The whispering in her ear was also strangely legitimate.

Her heart raced even as she took the rock from the hand of the strange mushroom being, her nerves starting to get to her, "I have no idea how to use a weapon." she says, still holding the rock the mushroom had handed her, looking at it and wondering how it might react to... various things really.

She reached a hand down help Ross up, holding the hand with the rock up and isolating some of its atoms from some of the others, sweating a bit from the exertion of it. Air was easy to move around, solids were far more difficult. However, fortunately, combustion was quite easy to maintain once you got it going. Practically self-sustaining.

She caused the rock to catch fire in her hand, keeping the heat off her hand with a little concentration, "Light." she says simply, looking in Reien's direction.

Reien watched the blonde take a slab of stone and used it to generate a makeshift torch, all the while helping the glowing man to get up. Rather impressive, Reien thought.

"Full extent of her abilities are still hazy. Healing and ignition. These two abilities will come in handy at some point." As the girl walked towards them and held the torch in hand, Reien gave a slight bow as an expression of thanks. She decided that if they were to work together, then there is merit in revealing some of her ability. She took off a band and let a couple of strands of hair lift the blazing stone instead.

"Thank you." The nagging feeling of someone watching hasn't gone away yet but, it is more bearable now that most of them have thought of cooperating. She grabbed a flat but larger stone slab and a sharper piece. She scribbled something on it before handing it to the large mushroom.

"You can use this to write to us, assuming you can understand our language." Reien wrote.
