Name: Charlotte Leanne Garett
Alias: None
Nickname: Charlie
Gender: Female
Age: 26
Place in Time: 2009
Relatives: Leanne Garett (Mother, deceased) Reynold Garett (Step-Father, Whereabouts unknown)
Powers: Phasing
Personality: Charlie has a good heart, it's just cemented underneath a surely, sarcastic some what self serving attitude. She's become very good at avoiding attachments of the personal type and yet at the core she hold to ideals that would have her put her life at risk to help a stranger if the need presented itself. She longs to be part of something and yet her tendency is to look out for number one and keep the rest of the world at arms length.
Appearance: At 5'6" she isn't much to be intimidated by. Her body type is more to the curvacious side with toning that boasts of a pilates class or two and a lot of running. As for the basics, she is a fair skinned brunette with green eyes and no visible distinguishing marks.

Bio:

Charlie's past has been nothing to write home about..mostly because that would require having a home to write home to.

From birth she'd been a happy child, bright, bubbly and with a natural zest for life; She was, in short, her mother's daughter.

Her life was standard upper middle class living. Her mother, herself and the man she believed to be her father lived in their average NJ home in their average NJ neighbourhood. They had camp outs in the back yard, made s'mores and made the trip to the central park zoo to visit the penguins on her birthdays. Life was bellicimo.

Her story continues on much in that fashion through cheer camps, first kisses, broken hearts and the like until her mother Leanne is diagnosed with cancer in April of 1996. That one catastrophic event would be the beginning of a dark spiral. A series of hard treatments wears the family down and untold truths begin to seep to the urface. In a shouting match between herself and the man she'd called Dad her whole life it is revealed that he is not her biological father. When she probes about his identity, his whole existence, she finds herself stone walled. Ever stubborn Charlie would have pressed deeper had it not been for the gag order a dying Leanne placed on the family, even imploring Charlie to promise that she wouldn't pursue the matter further. A promise to your dying mother tends to stick.

Leanne barely lived through the year. The loss of such a strong spirit shattered the stranger of a man who Charlie would now only refer to as Rey. Their average NJ home suddenly became a cavernous divide with it's empty hallways and disheveled back yard. Charlie started ditching school, rebelling, following that cliche angsty path that grieving teens often do and Rey did the only thing a man in his position thought he could do. He sent her away. Boarding school in NY proper. With what little money her mom had left for her and with Rey's decent middle class salary she wasn't exactly living the dream amidst multimillion heirs and heiresses and trust fund brats. Charlie for the most part kept her head down and her nose clean. There was no more cheerleading, or bright daisy filled fields of happiness, just a lot of concrete, buildings and honking horns. It was a place to get lost in and when Charlotte graduated at the age of 18, she did.

Reynold had become bitter towards her, refusing any sort of support now that she was no longer his legal ward. Charlotte would never admit the depth it pained her and rooted herself in the idea that she was better off. She scraped by working various low wage jobs to pay for tuition to NYU. She even managed two full years at the school.

When tutiton hikes ended her art history degree early she found herself without purpose. Waitressing, fashion department sales personnel at Macy's, even coat check girl at the metropolitan, she'd done just about every non essential job someone without post secondary education could do.

Cut to the eclipse. Charlie had gotten herself into quite a spot. Never borrow money from a guy with ties to any sort of organization, even if he says it's legit..and especially if he says "but I love you, baby, it's no big deal." Four grand in the hole and no way to repay it found Charlotte booking it down 57th with a slender wirey muscled collector hot on her heels, his brawnier buddy taking a new a 100 yards back and "Mr. I love you" off the grid.

Panic gripped her chest and as Charlotte sprinted between the blare of orange street lights and the inky shadows between she found her small hands grappling for anything free to be over turned within her reach. Slender digits brushed cooled metal and she heard the trash can topple behind her before she even registered her own movements. She didn't hazard a look back, arms pistoning as the cording muscles of legs began to sound their first protests. Charlie couldn't keep this up much longer and unlike his larger counter part the guy behind her had staying power. There was no further sound save for the momentary pause of his footfalls. She pictured his form hurling the obstacle like one of the track stars with the unnaturally coifed hair from her cheering days. The beat of his strides reappeared a heart beat later and she could feel her hopes sinking. Taking a hard right Charlie dodged into the first opening she could, dark alley mouth unfolding in front of her. The small brunette dipped around a large dented dumpster and then darted around another corner but he never stopped coming. Char could feel the small whimper building deep in her throat. He was going to catch her and then he would kill her..or worse. A myriad of horrible outcomes suddenly glazed over the panic'd green of her eyes and the small distraction found her suddenly face to face with the harsh brick of a solid wall.

Charlie woke up in the dark. For the first few moments she wasn't sure if she were dead or captured. The reality ..was neither.

A janitor would find her hours later sitting with her back against the wall, arms wrapping her knees in the small closet of a warehouse.

And the rest...you will have to wait and see in her origins expansion!

So begins...
