Mya looked between Anya and Jabez. "I'll travel with and Anya away from here. Jabez, you can cover our trails through the woods in case there is some unknown danger."

Elnin hacked his way through the forest, spinning his bow left and right in an effort to open a path for himself through the forest that was rapidly darkening. He pushed on using only his sense of direction to depend upon; no inner voice spoke to him, no God guided him, no Sun aided him in his search for an enemy that had quickly become his friend. A flock of birds chattered noisily above, as though watching him trying to wriggle his way out of the predicament he was in. That managed to make his mood even worse.

He stopped suddenly. Had he heard something? Staying still as stone, he failed to catch the sound again.

The wind blew again, and with it came the sound he had thought he had heard: the sound of a crowd, perhaps cheering or talking, he didn't know. He turned towards the sound, and just pushed on, hoping against hope that he would end up somewhere amongst the army so many had come to fear.

Durg started laughing, blood bubbling out of his mouth. He had been left to his own resources, which amounted to nothing. There might be a way to get loose...but it would be tricky, and Elnin wouldn't like one of the steps to doing so.
