ImageAge:17
Gender:Female
Species: Lioness Hybrid, Panthera leo and Homo sapiens
Weapon: Besides her retractable, vicious claws and a lion's bone shattering canines, her superior strength and speed make her a skilled swordsman despite her relatively small stature. She is particularly skilled in the usage of twin swords.
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 129lbs
Appearance: Lush, dark lashes framed vibrant gold eyes flecked with ruby and citrine. Her wild, oddly coloured gaze was predatory, betraying her feline nature. Her limbs stood coiled and ready to pounce, her weight distributed between the balls of her feet and her slim fingertips. She remained unmoving, waiting and assessing her oblivious prey. She was beautiful, her large doe-eyes, dainty nose and full, red lips making her almost elfin-like in appearance. Her soft chocolate hair cascaded around her shoulders, brushing the ground and her full hips.

Abruptly, her elegant fingers clenched and warped, thick, vicious claws extending from her fingers. She leapt, her soft lips pulling back to reveal razor sharp teeth, tougher than steel. Her prey spun around, horrified at the beautiful, feral-eyed monster lunging for his throat.

Despite being a lion hybrid, Cadence has very little resemblance to a lion, save her incandescent and illuminated fiery eyes and soft, likely overgrown, often untamed hair. Although she does not look it, Cadence is incredibly muscular and has never lost an arm wrestle to anyone, not even professional wrestlers. Her immeasurable strength and aggressive nature stands in contrast to her angelic appearance. Although slim, she is curvaceous.

As afore mentioned, unlike other hybrids, one is unlikely to immediately notice what animal she's been morphed with, or that she even is a hybrid. Like ordinary lions, Cadence's claws are retractable and unlike them, as are her teeth, although she does have particularly sharp canines even when she is at rest. Besides that, she bears no other physical resemblance to her animal half.

Personality: Some people love to be on the edge, others, like Cadence, have a tendency to fall off of it. She lives her life the way she wants it and sometimes appears to be incapable of seeing beyond two seconds into the future. Everything she does, she does for the immediate pleasure of it.

Parts of her personality are "stereotypical lion," such as her immense capacity for bravery. She seems to lack fear in her repertoire of emotions and that makes her rather reckless.

Besides acting, well, blatantly stupid at times, she is incredibly intelligent when it comes to survival. She can be cold and calculated when she wants to be and often acts like a lion stalking prey in all social encounters. Like a lion waiting for its kill, she has a surprising amount of patience for someone so overly fun-loving. She assesses everyone she meets, picking out all their flaws and evaluating the best approach.

She can be rather manipulative, being not only outspoken and outgoing but impossibly charismatic and charming. She's seductive and flirtatious, every other sentence she says being something rather provocative. She knows no personal boundaries and is quick to touch others in perhaps overly familiar and outrageous ways. Cadence speaks to everyone as if they'd been friends for decades prior, even if they just met.

She's a natural born leader, being both decisive and persuasive enough that people want to follow her. Cadence can be rather demanding and bossy at times, as being half lion, she expects to be obeyed. She has impossibly high expectations of everyone and so she is often disappointed but it never stops her from expecting just as much if not more the next time around.

She's not only stealthy, fast and strong, she's also very good looking and she knows it. She walks around with an air of confidence - perhaps too much - and authority. What saves her from being hated by everyone is her surprisingly superb sense of humour. She can brighten the darkest of days. If only she didn't insist on meddling in everyone's business.

Likes:
★ Food - Rest assured, Cadence can always be bribed with food. She will eat just about anything that isn't a plant - although meat is predictably her favourite - and there seems to be absolutely no end to her stomach as, if it were up to her, she would eat as often as she breathed.
★ Sleep - Lions, being the laziest big cat, and sleeping 20 hours a day, Cadence is unsurprisingly a big fan of sleeping and doing nothing. Indeed, in her 13 years of training, what she loathed most was being forced to sleep only 8 hours a day, if she was lucky.
★ People and Hybrids - Cadence is a big fan of people in general. She enjoys socialising and loves just about everyone, she doesn't even hate the people who tried to kill her.
★ Things that fly - Birds, paper planes, butterflies, if it flies, it's awesome.
★ Teamwork - Being an extrovert, there is nothing she loves more than working together.
★ Fighting - Aggressive in nature, Cadence loves breaking bones and making big boys cry.
★ Music - Be it Chopin or One Direction, she'll listen to anything.
★ Singing - Although roaring is great fun, there's nothing like singing to express yourself.
★ Running - Perhaps leaping would be a better word.
★ Attention - Being in the centre of the spotlight is all that she could ever ask for.
★ Freedom - She likes to do what she wants, when she wants, where she wants.
★ Flirting - A lioness has to mate some time.
Dislikes:
✖ Seafood - The first and last time she ate fish, she choked on a bone that almost killed her. Besides, she finds that it smells and tastes funny.
✖ Captivity - She's spent most of her life trapped a
nd having been genetically combined with a wild lion, she despises it.
✖ Rules - She does what she wants, when she wants, with whom she wants, where she wants and nothing anyone can do can stop her.
✖ Hyenas - "You know what I hate about hyenas? Everything."
✖ Water - It is all she can do to bathe every day.
✖ Dogs - Not only does she loathe them, she also finds them... Mildly frightening, which only makes her hate them more.
Flaws:
➣ Can't swim - "I can float face down though!"
➣ Smells like a rose garden - "I'm a lioness! I'm meant to smell like... Wheat."
➣ Too much pride - She refuses to let others help her and she never admits to anything that she believes make her appear weak.
➣ Poor stamina - Although her endurance is superior to that of a human's, it's not as good as other felines or animals.
➣ Needs the company of others - Her animal half not being a solitary in nature and her human half being extroverted, Cadence does not like being alone. She works much better in groups or "prides" in a lion's world.
Talents:
❀ Deafening roar - Her notorious roar, capable of paralysing those who are unfortunate enough to hear it, can travel over a distance of 5 miles
❀ Superb night vision - 7 times better than a human's
❀ Binocular vision - Can judge nearly the exact distance between objects or predator and prey
❀ 4 canines - She has two pairs of massive, retractable canines that can severe spinal cords and even rip through buildings
❀ Teeth for destruction - She has carnassials like a scissors for cutting flesh and crushing bone and incisors to gnaw at soft ends of bones and scrape off fibres and tendons.
❀ Crushing jaw - She is able to exert at least 900lbs of force per square inch, which is stronger that the biting force of two wolves combined.
❀ Superior hearing - She can hear prey a mile away, 5 times better than a human
❀ Retractable claws - Her claws extend to 7cm
❀ Heightened smell - Her sense of smell is so sharp that she can not only tell if prey is nearby, but also ascertain how long ago it was in the area
❀ Jumping - Cadence can leap up to 12 feet into the air, vertically, and 36 feet horizontally.
❀ Relatively fast - Although not as fast as tiger or cheetah hybrids, Cadence can run at a speed of 50mph.
❀ Immensely strong - She can carry up to three times her own weight and she can really pack a punch.
❀ Good climber - She can climb trees and such, although given the choice, she'd rather be on solid ground.
❀ Stealthy - Cadence is incredibly good at sneaking around unnoticed and surprising people to death.
❀ Skilled swordsman - She's been trained in the usage of swords and favours twin swords.
❀ Trained in martial arts - She's been trained in various forms of martial arts, including but not limited to muay thai, taekwondo and karate.
❀ Beautiful voice - In contrast to her deafening roars, Cadence has a feminine, almost adorable, breathless sounding voice. She's a gifted singer.
Fears: Mice; not belonging or never being part of a pride

Image
Bio: Cadence's training mostly focused on attacking due to her animal's inborn aggression and having been practically built to kill with a human's intelligence and a lion's strengths. Her training, like the others, was brutal. She spent 16-20 hours a day being honed into a killing machine and was forced to carry out assassination missions, or rather mass murder. She would sometimes be forced to kill 30 people at a time. Her flaw is her very human conscience and she is haunted by the lives she's taken, so much so that she sometimes hates herself and believes killing the hybrids or at least her would be the right thing to do. She has, indeed, attempted suicide by leaping off of a tall building but due to her hybrid nature, survived.

Cadence has also been used as a spy due to her superior stealth. She much prefers spying to assassination.

Other: Fuffi
Sample Post: "Faster!" the human snarled, bringing his whip down over the hybrid's bare flesh. A deep crimson oozed from the gash as the half human, half animal girl pulled back her full lips in a snarl. Cadence considered ripping his arm off but decided against it, the repercussions weren't worth the fleeting satisfaction. Instead she pushed with her legs and leapt into the air, covering a distance that would've taken the best human athletes 30 seconds but took her only 2. Was this what she was reduced to? The lioness allowing herself to be tamed by a puny little thing? She could kill him in a heartbeat but that was wrong and they didn't know any better.

"Over there, get it," a voice boomed just as lights swept over the cold walls of the building. She'd heard the pounding of boots from a mile away, before they'd even realised they'd been infiltrated. It was her stupid assignment, a pathetic little politician she simply had to save and the stupid whip he stumbled across. He was loud, clumsy and annoying. Didn't he realise the deafening snap of a whip would alert the dead?

"Attack!" the politician yelled, bringing the whip down again but rather than hitting flesh, it was caught between the hybrid's large teeth. Cadence tugged at the rope and sent the politician stumbling into a wall.

"Shut up," she snarled through her extended teeth. "And stay down."

The man's eyes widened, as if surprised this beast understood what was happening, much less talk. Cadence rolled her incandescent eyes of liquid gold. Groups of men invaded the hallway from both sides, guns drawn. Their eyes widened at the sight of the scantily clad teenage girl. What was something so beautiful do-

Before their thoughts could be finished and their guns trained, Cadence lunged. Her jaws clamped around upper arms, legs, shoulders and waists, anything but the neck, where an instant death was highly likely. She swung them into one another, twisting their guns with the weight of her landings and slicing them open with her curved claws of death. Blood stained her ivory skin as the humans screamed. What was this thing? When she was done - it barely took time - she spun around to face her assignment. With her fingers resting on the ground, she stalked towards him, cocking her head to the side and grinning, flashing him her blood stained teeth.

"W-what are you?" the politician asked, scrambling back in fear. Cadence beamed wider.

"The Queen of the Jungle."

Cadence's ears twitched as the sound of the pitter patter of footsteps came closer. More trouble? She spun around and snatching her assignment, ducked around the corner. She held a finger to her lips and tapped her ear when the man opened his mouth to almost speak. She inhaled, trying to sniff out who or what was headed towards them. She smelled no gun powder.

This is making no sense, she thought, pressing her ear to the wall in an attempt to pick out the vibrations. How many were there? Suddenly, the footsteps stilled. Her brows furrowed in confusion, wh- She felt the pinch of a needle and then, a low breath in her ear.

"Hello, sister."

She sank into oblivion.

Amur

The first thing she heard was, well nothing actually. But if she focused hard enough she could just barely make out the sounds of people talking amongst themselves. Soon she wished she didn’t as it seemed their voices went in her direction with may have sounded like curiosity, but that could have just been the 5 inch glass screwing with her hearing.

One golden eye opened just enough to look around at her surroundings and get her bearings. However the scientist noticed this and scurried over to her like some children at a party when the big entertainment came. great just great what the hell are they gonna do with me now? a low growl escaped her throat. When three of the labcoats got close enough she lashed out at the glass that separated the two from each other. Amur’s sharp claws barely made a scratch on its surface but it sure as hell scared the lab coats.

Unfortunately Amur’s triumph was short-lived when an electric shock went through her body. She let out a yowl of surprise as she was used to this level of pain. The lab coats laughed at her, one pointed his pen at her and nodded at the other two before he began to write down some stuff. This enraged Amur, with ears pulled back she got close to the glass and snarled at them. “Oi what they hell is he writing there? Dammit answer me you pieces of trash!” this only earned another electric shock; it hurt more than the last.

The lad coats laughed at her and went on their merry way to the next capsule. That’s when it hit her, Amur for the first time since waking took note of her surroundings. She was inside a capsule with white steely walls and a glass front. There were small barely noticeable openings in the corners of her capsule, a speaker system or is that for when they get tired of me and want to take the easy way out. looking past her capsule Amur noticed she was part of a metal corridor capsules lined the walls. And within each one held a hybrid; most she recognized some she didn’t. “What the hell! They’ve never put so many hybrids in one room before . . . unless they plan to have us enter a death match or is this where they will finally be disposing of us?” Amur growled and leaned back in her capsule, closing her eyes for a moment until something happened.

Donovan groaned and rolled onto his side. His wings ached because he had been laying on them. Not on purpose of course, but the idiot scientists had put him like that. He opened his onyx eyes and sat up. Slowly stretching his wings out as much as he could in the small space. He examined his surroundings to see that he was in some sort of capsule. Look past the capsule he could see more of them, each one had another mutant in it.

Some scientists came up to him, the look in their eyes made Donovan nervous. His raptor vision allowed him to see every little detail on them, he could literally see every pore on their faces. After a moment he turned away, ignoring them. He flapped his wings a few times to make sure they weren't stiff from being stuck in an awkward position for so long. Then he began preening them, checking the feathers carefully to see if any were broken. "So, can I ask where I am or will that earn me some pain?" He turned his attention back to the scientists. "You can ask, but I won't tell you." One of the scientists replied.

Donovan plucked a broken feather out of his right wing and twirled it in his fingers. "Fair enough." The scientists wrote something down on a clipboard and walked away. As they left Donovan caught a glance at what they had written. Subject #463 is responding well to the change in enviroment. His behavior pattern is normal. A positive sign that shows he can adapt quickly.

He folded his wings against his back and move close to the wall. He knocked on it in a certain pattern that he and some other mutants came up with. Like a code or something. He hoped that the person next to him recognized it and responded, atleast he would know if they were safe or not.

Belphegor woke up without much visible changes. His eyes were hidden under his bangs and most of his body was hidden under thick tentacles. His tentacles didn't move, seeing as they hadn't been given a command. He opened his eyes and was met with a black mass of tentacles in front of him,

He, when he was made unconscious at the facility, hadn't been able to direct some of the blood from his tentacles to his body, effectively letting his tentacles be at full capacity while he was transported to the capsule. He moved his tentacles out of his way and noticed the glass and what was through it.

He was confused for a second, but he quickly analyzed his surroundings and the situation. He had been made unconscious, taken to what appeared to be a capsule, and put into a room with other mutants in it. He was luckily still wearing the same clothes he had on during the 'incident' in his facility room. This was good, seeing as he had 'borrowed' money stitched onto his clothes.

The scientists noticed his lucidity, and walked over to his capsule. "Great," He said this while smiling the same smile had most of the time. He waved lazily at them, pretending to be groggy. He wasn't going to do anything rash, and risk getting hurt. From the sick smile on their faces, he presumed that they were most likely going to terminate him or send him on a mission requiring multiple mutants. "What sort of mission will this be?" He wasn't asking this for an answer, he was asking this so he could study the faces on the scientists. Even if he did get an answer, he most likely wouldn't have heard it.

They were trained against questions like this, and he guessed this when their faces didn't change. He looked around at the other capsules and noticed a familiar faces. He hoped whatever was happening wouldn't be too straining.

Small brown eyes fluttered open, and quickly squeezed back shut due to the brightness that they were not prepared for. Slowly, the eyes reopened, now curious about what was going on. Evie's ears perked up as she sat up, coming face to face with glass. She was in some sort of cage- a capsule maybe. Fear was her first reaction. What had she done to displease whoever had placed her in this strange place? But, Evie knew the answer. Although she was innocent, she was not daft. They put her in this place because she was different.

Evie soon realized she was fogging up the glass so she drew a smiley face in the condensation before wiping it away and peering out. To her surprise she saw tons of other capsules filled with all sorts of other hybrids, some in a deep sleep and others looking terrified and confused. Her eyes wondered, peering at every one of them that she could view. Suddenly, she could smell a human approaching and she scooted back as far as she could in the cramped space. A man, scientist she presumed from the lab coat he was wearing, walked towards her and kneeled down to appeal to her sitting position.

"What are you planning to do to us?" she asked, curiosity evident in every word. The scientist smiled and just scribbled down words on a clipboard holding some pieces of paper that were not stacked neatly at all. "Hello?" she said, her voice sounding much meeker, but not a tad less curious. She soon began to get frustrated and stood up and took a step toward the glass. Her lips folded back just a tad revealing her long fangs as she mustered up the most menacing hiss she could possibly let out. The scientist laughed! Evie was appalled.

Then, the scientist just walked away, leaving Evie alone. That is when she began to become afraid. They were going to kill her, and every other hybrid in the room. She knew it. So, she sat down and curled her tail around her body, sliding to the back of the room until she hit the wall sending a big "Thump!" echoing through her capsule. She turned herself around, facing the back now, and tried to peer out, but couldn't see any other hybrid. She expected herself to cry, because even at her age she was scared and felt small in all of this. But, to her surprise, tears didn't come. So, she just sat, curled up in her tail, waiting.

#, as written by Layla

"Ah, push it - push it good. Ah, push it - p-push it real good. Hey! Ow! Push it good!"

Cadence's eyes fluttered beneath her closed eyelids as she fumbled for her alarm. Ever since her trainers left their human music unattended, she'd been rather obsessed with them. Salt 'n' Peppa were her current favourites. She slapped her palm down to decapitate her clock but instead hit air. The momentum of her swing threw her over the metal slab of a bed she'd been on and onto the floor.

"Ow!" she yelped when her body slammed into the floor. Her gold and ruby eyes jerked wide at the impact, her pupils narrowing into points at the sudden flood of light.

"Sub... 95...egained consciousness," said a muffled, monotonous voice from the other side of the glass. Cadence swung into a sitting position, her eyes whizzing wildly around. Where the hell was she? Had she failed the mission? Had she been captured by the enemy? "It ap... displ...igns of anxiety...confusion."

"Way to state the obvious, radish man," she said, eyeing the ugly ivory lab coat. The man showed no sign of having heard her, save a slight twitching of his left eyebrow.

"It displays...lack...f respect for superiori..." he continued to say as he scribbled in his little notebook. "It is...arcastic...pr...entious...outspoke...mis....ed intel...gence."

"Nice to meet you too." Cadence rolled her eyes.

"It....acquainted with human etiquette."

"You, on the other hand..." the lioness grumbled.

Mr. Radish Lab coat lifted his gaze for the first time then, the first sure sign of acknowledgement but just as quickly as he flicked his gaze towards her, he dropped them back down to scribble a single word silently into his book.

"What's your name?" Cadence asked to be met with silence. "C'mon, what can I do? You're on the other side of the glass which, you know, is like 5 inches thick - a bit of an overkill, don't you think? - and I'm here." She gestured around the room to emphasise her being trapped and showed her palms, followed by a dazzling flash of her blindingly white teeth in a heart-warming smile. "If you want my cooperation, we should start with polite introductions."

"Hilshire." he said abruptly, lifting his spectacles with his middle finger - a subtle insult?

"First name?" Cadence asked.

"Unnece...ary," came the cold reply.

"Okay, Unnecessary Hilshire," she chirped, her grin widening. How stupid were they, not chaining her to the metal slab. She inched closer to the glass, slowly, but even that resulted in a glare from Unnecessary Hilshire. She caught a glimpse of his notebook.

"Subject #95 bears no physical resemblance to her feline mutation, indicating it might be a failed experiment and previous documentation was inaccurate. It does, however, have unusual, incandescent and luminescent gold irises that are larger than an ordinary human's, an indicator superior night vision. It has remarkable hearing, not dissimilar from the..." Move your hand, she thought furiously, trying to get a better look. She couldn't see the words between that and, "...captured it."

But huh, she snorted. They didn't think she was an animal? She'd set that myth to rest.

"...eyes...bears resemblance...Evere..." she glimpsed on the page.

EVERETT?!?!?

Her jaw dropped. Did they just say she looked like Everett? The dog? Hohoho, no they didn't. She was going to-

Thump. Thump.

Her eyes widened briefly from surprise before she quickly set her face back to its previous cocky grin. She felt her heart flutter in her chest, hope blossoming in her stomach like melted chocolate with steak. Was it him? Was it her Donovan? They'd come up with the hybrid code along with the others all those years ago but she knew Donovan's knock. His beautiful, beautiful knock. Was she hearing things?

"Don't mind me," she told Unnecessary Hilshire before pulling her arm back. "I'm just testing the glass. Do not be alarmed," she said, lowering her voice in a mocking imitation of lab coat man's. She pounded her fist into the glass, to which Hilshire didn't even flinch. He must've had a world of self-control, was stupid or held a lot of faith for a piece of glass.

Th-thump. Thump. Thump. T-th-th-thump? Thum-thump? Thump. Thump thump. Thump. Thumthumthumthum THUMP.

Finally, she stopped banging on the glass, held her hands in front of her and smiled demurely. Surely they would still remember how to read a hybrid knocking sentence, right? Right? Of course. She told them they'd need it one day. They'd better. She'd hit the code for "Sup, guise. How are you? Pretty good? Yeah, me too. Does anybody have any food? Golden trio! Btdubs, Donovan, I <3 u, baby."

"You may address me as 'your grace,' 'my lady' or 'dearest Queen,'" Cadence said with a bright smile.

Hilshire narrowed his eyes at his notebook before mumbling and scribbling, "...narcissist."

Inside one of the capsules in the laboratory lye Minka, her mind stability was tranquil and serene. Slowly opening her warm colored eyes as if she had just woken up from hibernation, still drowsy from the dart that had shot her earlier Minka had no clue what was going on. The blurry sight couldn't help her put the puzzle pieces together, placing her hands over her eyes waiting for a couple of moments to stabilize her mind, she slowly detached her fingers apart and peaked through with one of her eyes.

She was locked up into a capsule, Minka was on the urge to start a panic attack. Her eyes moved from left to right trying to find a way to escape, she was once again held in captivity but in a smaller environment. Minka started to bang the walls of the capsule on both sides with each hand, causing one of the scientists to rush down and check up on her. "I see that the Vulpini has awaken." said the scientist who came to inspect the subject. Minka's pupils widened into the size of black holes. She was terrified at this point, it was both a stranger and a human who happened to be a scientist. The Vulpini's natural extincts pushed in and caused Minka to turn around and hide her face, being terrified and shy around humans and those who she was unfamiliar with.

The scientist rolled his eyes and laid out a sigh, Minka could barely hear the man's frustration with her strong senses through the sound proof walls. The scientist began to write, whilst Minka was was still in hiding. He wrote down on his sheet "Subject #9881 's animal instincts are showing, fox personality are expressed. Still need to add on more information." Minka had no desire to turn around until the scientist left, after a while the man walked away, Minka slowly turned around and peaked her head through the glass window.

One of her scruffy ears raised up as the other one dropped down, the situation was pretty sketch in Minka's perspective. Shockingly there were hybrids just like her in the room, never during her existence has she seen so many hybrids in one place . Concerned about others and herselft, Minka started to ponder so many questions in her mind. "Why am I here?", "Will I die?", "Am I going to be hurt?", "Who is everyone?", "Why are we here?" .... At this point Minka was very puzzled with this siting. Suddenly the fox decided to look better through the glass, she noticed that some of these hybrids were familiar from her past..But she decided to not try and communicate with them thinking she would get in trouble.

Crozu
"So my world is confined to this." Crozu says trying to take in his surrounding with echolocation. With a sigh, Crozu reaches up and grabs the bandages covering his eyes. With one sharp tug Crozu tears the bandages away from his eyes to reveal a pane of glass, and beyond that the colours mix together to form a indistinguishable mess. "Great I got a coffin with a view" Crozu mutters sarcastically. Then Crozu realize he can't hear anything, it is just him all alone in a blurry coffin an starts mumbling to himself "it will be ok sound will come it will."

A quiet thumping noise starts echoing in Crozu's ear slowly getting louder, well my hearts had it Crozu thinks to himself. Suddenly a a revelation comes to him.... that's not my heart. "Seems to be coming from multiple areas around him either they are trying to drive me insane, or there are other hybrids trying to communicate." Crozu mutters to himself thinking the quiet was messing with him more then the noise. Slowly he relax's to the rhythmic thumping, and drifts off to sleep.

Everett woke with a pounding in his head and aching muscles. With a groan, he sat up from his bed holding his head in his hands. He groggily stood up and blinked, trying to shake the sleep out of his bones. Then a sudden realization dawned on him. He glanced around with a very confused expression.

“H-hey! What’s going on here!” Everett ran towards the glass wall and slammed his fists down on it. His hand just bounced off and the wall didn’t quake at all. Glancing through, he could see directly in front of him were two men in lab coats, peering into his little cage. Everett stared at them as they began to talk to each other. Their voiced were muffled due to the thick glass. Everett cocked his ears forwards and concentrated on listening.

“The subject doesn’t seem to adapt well to new environments.” One man said to the other. Everett curled his lip up.

“Perhaps he just isn’t too bright, a mistake in his genes, maybe?” The second man chuckled. Everett let out a menacing growl. They both stopped laughing and turned to him. “Maybe Dog-Boy isn’t as stupid as we thought. He seems to be able to understand human speech. Isn’t this right, Mutt?” Both men erupted into laughter once more.

“Where am I?! I demand an answer!” Everett’s temper was rising. He hit his clenched fist against the glass once more.

“Cool it hot shot!” The first man snapped. He made an attempt to whisper to the other scientist. “Our original information was correct. This subject is known for having anger issues.”

Everett pinned his ears back to his head and he sat down criss-cross apple sauce and crossed his arms across his chest. His golden eyes glared out of his capsule. His jaw clenched with anger as he saw there were many other hybrids in other cages.

The little fox hybrid was looking as shy as ever when a man approached her enclosure.

Cadence the lioness chick was upholding her snippy attitude. Everett made sure to send a nice scowl in her direction.

One of the tiger girls, Amur, seemed to be seething just as much as Everett was.

A sudden commotion arose as the other tiger hybrid tried to escape. Everett just shook his head. “Such a foolish decision.” Everett sighed as she lost consciousness due to a nasty sleeping gas.

Everett could hear a faint tapping. The hybrids were using their secret knocking code to communicate. The tall boy leaned forwards and tapped, been awake not twenty minutes, and I’m already ready to pop some heads. Anyone agree?

7:45 AM - Kantses' Capsule

Consciousness, like a slap to the face, woke him with a start. He bolted upright into a sitting position as his surroundings came into focus, a small circular room, slightly longer than him in diameter and clear from floor to ceiling on one side. There was a small grille in the roof above him, too small for his fingers but large enough to recycle the air or fill the room with gas. He wants to claw at that tiny hole in the roof, wants to tear it open and slither out into the lab he can see beyond the glass of his cell. But he doesn't. He just sits there, propped up on his arms, watching a room full of dead men in white coats scurry about with notepads and clipboards and all other manner of inane laboratory equipment.

One of them, seeing him sitting up, grabs a nearby clipboard and walks over to stand in front of his window. Kantse tilts his head to the side ever so slightly, belying the fact that his entire body is screaming at him to get out. The man obviously took this as his cue to start writing, documenting his observations and speculations and, apparently, reciting them as well.

"Subject is conscious and appears lucid, maintaining a remarkable state of calm considering the subjects' previously demonstrated dislike for small spaces." His voice was muted but clear, allowing Kantse to understand him through a combination of his superior hearing and lip-reading.

"Subject also appears to be unconcerned with his current situation, or is so confident he can escape at any time that he is content to wait, for now. This may be because of some as yet unknown ability he has, or perhaps just another case of his grasp exceeding his reach."

Kantse narrowed his eyes at this, fixing the image of the man in his mind so that he would remember to make him eat his words later. The man seemed not to notice his piercing stare though and simply walked off to do some other obscure task elsewhere. Seeing that no one was paying him any mind Kantse lazily rose to his feet, like a marionette to a skilled puppeteer, and stood barely away from the glass, peering out and around the room. He saw that it was filled with cells similar to his and that they each contained a single occupant, most of whom were from his past, Hybrids that he trained and grew up with.

"Well now" he said "I'm sure you're wondering why you're all gathered here today..."

Donovan only had to wait about thirty seconds for a reply. There were three actually. One was the random tapping of some frightened hybrid that Donovan didn't know. Then there was Everett, ready to punch something. And also there was Cadence who asked how everyone was doing, asked if they had any food, and ended with an I love you to Donovan. Donovan couldn't help but grin at the last part. Cadence asking him for food reminded him that he hadn't eaten since before his long training session and he didn't know how long he had been asleep. He needed was starving. He tapped out three messages, one on the side of the frightened hybrid, one on the other side to Cadence, and one on the glass for Everett.

To the frightened one he just tapped a couple times in a random pattern, just to let them know that there were others there. As a bit of reasurance.

To Everett he tapped out, "I'm just about there. Don't even have enough room to stretch out my wings."

And finally to Cadence, "I'm fine. Sorry no food, if I had any I would have eaten it myself." Then after a moments hesitation added, "Love you too." The hesitation wasn't because he didn't love her, he did, maybe not as much as she loved him but still. It was because of his raven DNA. When ravens mate, they mate for life, settling down in their own territory and defending it from intruders together. Which was very different from the way lions mated. He didn't know if their animal side or human side would dominate when it came to something like that. If it was their animal side... They would have a bit of a problem.

"I'm fine. Sorry, no food, if I had any I would have eaten it myself." He was as considerate as ever. God, that was hot. "Love you too." Cadence's fist froze mid-knock. She honestly hadn't expected him to say it back. It was...

"Ugghh," she grunted, clutching her midsection and doubling over. She gasped, her eyes widening as her body convulsed, slamming violently into the thick glass. Her whole frame trembled as she slid down the length of the barrier, her breathing coming in heavy, desperate gasps that slowly dissolved into a quiet, shaky wheezing.

Her eyes rolled into the back of her head, her breathing seized and she fell forward. Her head hung limply, falling to her chest, her thick chestnut hair caressing the cold floor.

Shouts were exchanged in a mess of noise as the human employees raced towards her, pounding the key code that would reveal a seamless door in the glass.

"Convulsing-"

"Someone get me a medic-"

"Unresponsive-"

People flooded into her tiny room as two men knelt before her. They grabbed her arms and wrapped them around their shoulders, one on each side, hauling her to her feet. For such a tiny thing, she weighed a tonne.

"Check its pulse-"

"No need," Cadence chirped as she tucked her arms in and using her inhuman strength, slammed the two heads of her 'helpers' together. They crumbled to the floor, unconscious.

A fist came barrelling towards her face but she ducked and slammed the hell of her palm into her attacker's chin, whipping his head back. His skull cracked into the wall with a resounding thud. She quickly raced out of the glass room and for the first time, saw the multiple cages they kept the hybrids - her friends - in. Her gold and ruby eyes sparked with barely contained fury.

"And you call us the monsters?" she seethed, a low growl scraping past her throat.

A man reached for her neck to clamp a metal device around it. A choker? What do they think I am? Everett? she thought furiously as she leaned her body slightly to the right. Grabbing the human's arm, she slammed her palm into his elbow - the wrong way - and heard the satisfying snap of his elbow joint shattering and her wail of agony as she thrust her left knee into his abdomen, sending him sprawling to the floor.

"Grab the hands!" yelled Unnecessary Hilshire but a blue clad medic had already wrapped his beefy arm around her neck while Cadence was distracted by the one who tried to chain her like a lowly dog.

"C'mon, medics?" she croaked through the man's steel biceps, gradually clamping down harder around her neck in an attempt to steal her breath and leave her unconscious. "Don't insult me." Just as his co-worker raced towards them with a lethal syringe, she lifted her leg and brought it back hard into the man's knee cap, bending simultaneously to throw him forward over her head and onto the ground. The remaining medic didn't appear to react to his beefy, steroid filled comrade being slammed to the ground by a willowy girl.

Well trained, she thought with a grin before his arm shot out to stab the syringe into her. Before he could, however, she sidestepped and simultaneously grabbed his wrist and elbow, jerking his arm back so he stabbed himself in the neck. She pressed his own thumb down on the syringe and sent the clear liquid flooding into his blood stream.

A few moments later, she had Hilshire pressed against her, her hand around his throat and her chin resting in the crook of his neck, almost lovingly.

"Release them, or I'll rip his throat out." She grinned, baring her teeth, four of which were beginning to lengthen into deadly canines. "And then I'll bring this whole building down on your abnormally large heads."

Chik chik.

Let the fun begin, she mused before whirling around to disarm the gunmen but before she could, Hilshire held out a palm.

"Hold your fire," he commanded, his voice neither wavering nor betraying any hint of fear, even though he was in the hands of a being that could exert 900lbs of force in a single bite, a force greater than two wolves combined. "Get Meir."

The gunmen hesitated, confusion evident in their stance even if their faces were covered.

"Go," Hilshire said, more stern now. They quickly turned around and a fellow scientist punched in the codes for Meir's cell. The glass door slid open and a gunman slung his rifle back over his shoulder so his hands were free to pick up the dainty hybrid. "October 16th, age 9," her hostage began. Cadence tightened her grip.

"What about it?"

"You'd failed your first kill mission - he was too fast, you'd said, but your superiors knew they simply hadn't broken you enough and you were deterred by your target's young son. An animal with a conscience," he mused. "As punishment, SAPH locked you in a 20 by 20 inch cubicle infested by rats - among other things - and surrounded the cubicle with flames. Rodents aren't a big fan of fire. They had nowhere else to go," He paused, as if for dramatic effect. Cadence felt her resolve slip along with her grip, the memory, the distinct feeling that there was something crawling up her legs right this moment, making her sweat and tremble. "But towards you. So they tried to bite their way through your flesh, to create a tunnel perhaps-"

"Shut up."

"Meet Meir," he said and the gunman came forward, clutching the young hybrid and shoving him in front of Cadence.

"What the hell is this?" Cadence glared at Meir. "If you think a little boy's going to work on me again-" She stopped.

Ragged blonde. Inhuman green eyes. Fragile. Skeletal. Deathly pale skin. Tiny.

Rodent.

Cadence screamed, thrusting her captive at the curse of mother nature and stumbling backwards to get away. She ran as far back as she could, feeling an ocean trapped behind her large doe-eyes, her pupils dilated with fear. Her back slammed into Everett's cell and there was nowhere left to go. She whimpered, her knuckles white from pressing against the glass. She looked over her shoulder, her eyes meeting Everett's but seeing nothing but millions of chipped teeth, sinking into flesh...

"Meir will be your new roommate," Hilshire said coldly, signalling with his hands for the men to grab her.

"No, no, no, no," she begged, for once not even caring about her pride or the fact that she was shattering her brave lioness front in front of every one of her peers, knowing only that she had to get away from those... Violent emerald eyes and those tiny little murderous teeth. "Please. Death by toothpick, electric shocks, impaled with heated metal rods, anything. Hell, I can be prison mates with that thing, even." She jerked her thumb at Everett. "I'll even wear one of those hideous jumpsuits. Just not-" She stared at Meir's small hands. "Not that."

The brought Meir closer.

"OOOOHHH MY GOD! Oh my god, oh my god." She squeezed her eyes shut, wishing she could melt into the thick glass. "Please, please, please get that thing away from me." She opened one eye to stare in fear of Meir's short legs and eyes that filled up half his face. Her gaze flicked over to Donovan, a plea in her eyes. She wasn't one to ask for help. Never had, never... Well, now she wanted nothing more than to leap into Donovan's arms and never, ever let go. She imagined him lifting her up into the air - although in reality, she doubted he could, she was quite sure she weighed more than him and ravens weren't renowned for their strength, last she checked, but Donovan could do anything he was determined to do, that she knew. Rats didn't fly and God, she wish she was an eagle instead of a lion at that moment. The thought of Donovan, the sight of him so near by, even if he was behind a thick wall of glass, soothed her and she felt her heart slowly steady into a rapid thump instead of a mad pitter patter of horror.

The rat hybrid moved.

An uncharacteristic, high pitched squeal escaped her lips before she shut her eyes again, Donovan's calm dissolving entirely.

She barely registered the rough hands groping her body or the dozen men it took to remove her from her stance at the hybrid German Shepherd's door. She couldn't hear the glass door sliding shut, hearing instead the horrifying cacophony of squeaks in her head. She scrambled away from Meir, tucking herself in a corner and clutching her knees to her chest for dear life. Her entire frame was shaking, sweat stinging her eyes and it was all she could do not to weep an ocean. Maybe, just maybe, if she intended it didn't exist, it would go back to whatever nest or egg it came out of. She was hyperventilating. Cadence scratched at her bare skin, trying to chase the pain and tingling of desperate rats, gnawing their way through her, finding escape from the fire through the wounds they ripped in her flesh.

Nothing existed except for Meir and his cuddly, tiny little self.

She was sharing a cell with Satan himself and she knew, in milliseconds, that Meir would come, and eat her face.

"ACHOOOO!"

Evie's sneeze echoed through the cell, capsule, whatever you call it. It seemed to almost bounce off the glass and come back to her. Even a few scientists were startled by the sudden noise, which made her wonder if the glass was soundproof on the outside too or if it was one way. She sniffled, her nose beginning to run. It could have been the fact her cell was freezing cold, but Evie had been in quite more frigid waters. Why would this bother her?

She stood up, her legs getting cramped from her fetal position in the back of the capsule. She stretched, trying to make the aching in her limbs go away. She was quite nervous, eyeing scientists as they marched by. To make it even worse, she swore that she could taste Sushi, setting a craving in. She really wanted sea food.

Suddenly, Evie saw panicked looks on scientists face as they rushed past her cell to one further down. Some sort of chaos was erupting. She could hear their feet pounding even through the soundproof glass. And suddenly, shouts erupted down the hall, causing Evie to hurry to the front of her cell and peer out the glass, trying to see what was going on, although she couldn't.

Soon, a scientist walked by with a small boy hybrid, the first time she had seen a hybrid out of their "cages". And he was being taken towards the ruckus, where the shouts became louder.

But, she soon recognized a voice from down the hall. Cadence- she believed that was the name anyway. She was a hybrid from her childhood, which seemed like eons ago. The Golden Trio, was that the correct name for what her, Cadence, and another hybrid by the name of Minka? Evie believed so. She couldn't help but smirk, for she had been so young. The Trio's goal was to protect hybrids. They had acted as if they were superheroes, and maybe Evie had even believed she was at the time, but now it just made her chuckle.

What irked her was why Cadence was screaming. She sounded as if she had spotted bloody murder. Had something horribly awful happened? The otter crossed her arms and began to gnaw on her lip, then tapped in a hybrid code that the hybrids used among themselves. Evie only knew a few words, but it was enough to write: What's going on? I can't see. Once she finished, she laid down on the floor and just stared up at the ceiling, letting boredom and curiosity engulf her.

[justify[The ruckus certainly had Meir's attention as far as it was able to grasp it, with that his focus was partly still kept on the fact that he wasn't the only 'person' in this predicament. Again, the mouse would stand flat and press his wee-little body against the looking-through glass wall that did little to reveal what was making so much blurry noise.

Eyes darted to his fuzzy friend that was still held in his stumpy hands, he was looking for guidance, for answers. The stuffed animal's head flopped back.

Fuzzles doesn't know?

What was that? They're coming?

Meir followed the sight of his friend's glassy beads, a pair of scientists accompanied by 'terrible man carrying guns' scurried about his cell, hastily punching in some beeps and boops that shifted open the heavily secured door.

They're letting me out?

Emerald eyes sparkled with sincere joy. Maybe they weren't so bad after all.

Tiny feet shuffled closer to the gunman that had approached the young boy, eyes spoke what his lips couldn't, a smile crawling on his face.

“Alright, fella, let's go.” Said the gunman, large hand reaching out for Meir's fragile, stick-like arms and pulling him out of his cell.

For the short while the boy was out his eyes hurriedly looked about, watching every cell they passed. There really were more of him here. Well, other caged people, anyway.

Why weren't they allowed out? Again, the little hybrid turned to Fuzzles. No reaction, yet the boy nodded as if the lifeless toy actually spoke words of wisdom.

“Meet Meir,”

Eh?

Meir was nudged forward by the gunman, a silent gasp escaping his mouth. He inched forward, then froze when a tall female gazed down at him with terrifying gold eyes. “Eep.” he'd yelp, but alas, there was no sound. At least not from him.

The terrifying female hybrid screamed, trying everything in her might to crawl away from the clueless, fragile being that was Meir every inch he was brought closer and closer.

She smelled... Odd. Frightening – No, the boy could smell fear from this cat lady.

W-was she, scared of him? Of the mean men with guns?

Emerald eyes wallowed in tears, the fear projected towards little Meir overwhelming him as well.

“Get them in, now!” One of the man with guns commanded.

Without a single peep or crack, Meir was nudged into the only shared cell. Though if that was an upgrade from his lone captivity.

Stump, little hands shakily reached for Fuzzles, bringing the stuffed animal close to his chest as his eyes kept gazing at the cat lady that had tucked herself away in one of the four corners of the cell, little feet shuffling backwards until he felt the cold glass against his back.

Meir deathly wished he was able to scream for help, he did not want to be here.

Amur

She snorted at Bleu’s attempted at breaking free which ended in knock-out gas. you idiot and to think I’m related to you by feline DNA. But it was worth it I guess huh Bleu, at least now I know not to attempt a jailbreak. Everett like her was furious with how the scientists were treating her and was glad she wasn’t the only one even if she shared the feeling with a dog.

Then the dumbest thing happened involving her other relative via DNA, the self-proclaimed leader of the hybrids. great just great another idiot that I’m related too the girl then began to struggle for breathe, eyes rolling to the back of her head. Even to Amur it was pretty convincing but not really smart girl but let’s see how far it’ll get her. A smile crept on her lips revealing large canines that could rip out a man’s throat if she tried. The medics came rushing in trying to figure out what was going on with one of their prized hybrids, one of them went to check her pulse and that’s when Cadence broke the bluff.

Soon enough a fight ensued Cadence was obviously getting the upper hand when she grabbed one of the labcoats. The guards came rushing in and Amur assumed Cadence had said a warning for her hostage. However things took a turn of events when something rather peculiar came about in the form of a small, frail boy, one she did not recognize. The look on Cadence’s face was all Amur needed to know about the situation “ well there goes any chance of getting out here and all thanks to my relatives fear of whatever DNA that boy holds, just great.” Once the labcoats locked the two together; Cadence was already having a breakdown while the boy looked to be getting scared as well.

With a shake of her head and the rolling of gold eyes Amur looked away from the shaming scene. The young woman leaned back into her capsule and decided to take a small nap at which didn’t last very long.

8:30
Suddenly sirens were blaring while red lights flashed in sync of the noise. Amur jumped awake at the sudden sound covering her ears, her eyes darting back and forth watching the labcoats scurry about in a mad frenzy. Her eyes caught movement and that’s when she saw it, a silhouette of a man she presumed pulling down a lever of some sort. Looking closer she realized there were words above the lever that read Capsule Release Amur pressed herself against the glass wall and began to slam her fists against it. However the scene changed from flashing red to pale blue and streaking white clouds. well would you look at that the sky which means lovely old land is going to greet me in just a few Amur didn’t have much time to think and so she prepared herself for the inevitable crash landings by ramming herself against one side of her capsule. The earth rushed to meet her and everything went black.

Amur woke up to a searing pain at the back of her head, reaching back cautiously Amur felt around her head but pulled back soon after the pain sharpened to the point she saw colors. “great jus great” her eyes widened a bit at the sight of blood dripping down her arm, “even better”a hint of sarcasm in her voice. Soon the sounds of the outside world reached her ears and she began to move about trying to sit back up. Amur took it slow to avoid any further dizziness but she met some difficulty in getting herself out due to her arm. After a few more attempts Amur finally managed to get out of her capsule and was astounded by the amount of damage the capsule had made in its wake. Looking about Amur saw that she wasn’t the only one who crash landed and woken up. A few other hybrids have left their capsules that were either somewhat intact or in little more than pieces.

Kuma Snow

"Are you sure we are safe" one of the scientist asked David. "It’s perfectly safe so don’t worry, you could be screaming in her ear and she wouldn’t wake up" he said confidently. "Well you’re not the one in the same room as her officer David" the scientist snapped at him. "Well that much is true but it wouldn’t really matter she could easily break through the two-way mirror, so in the end I’m in just about the same amount of danger as you ". Calmly David entered the room and screamed in Kuma’s ear just to prove his point. "See nothing" chuckling a bit David left the room. And it was true Kuma was still asleep but it was reaching the time that she will wake up. Suddenly red lights began flashing and along came the sirens blaring.
The already nervous scientist began to panic and quickly left the room "What’s going on? Why are the alarms going off?” Kuma opened her eyes just enough to see what was going on. She was in a white room with a scientist, who was panicking. strange why is he panicking? Is it me that he's scared of, no otherwise he wouldn’t be in the same room as me . She closed her eyes again and reopened them noticing the flashing red lights and the muffled sirens. She was relieved when the scientist left and tried to move but she still couldn’t. She was drowsy when her eyes caught movement behind what she assumed was a two-way mirror. A strange figure stood watching her when suddenly the very same scientist pulled a lever opening up the floor beneath her.

Dropping her into a tube like structure much too small for her large frame and then she was shot out into the air going up for a bit until gravity decided to enter the equation. Kuma marveled at the clear blue sky and she became aware that she would soon hit the earth. But there wasn’t much she could do she has yet to fully awaken therefore her body was limp for the time being until she woke up.[i]oh well its safer that my body is limp rather than being tense I won’t get hurt much this way.
The capsule finally hit the ground cracking the glass window but otherwise still in one piece. Kuma’s head snapped back hitting something hard and she lay there her breath shallow. She wasn’t sure which took her first, her need to sleep or her conscious drifting away caused by the pain she felt at the back of her head. It didn’t matter as long as she didn’t have to feel the pain and soon she was asleep as the darkness had taken her.

It was an ordinary day, filled with ordinary happenings.

Fourteen hybrids fell from the sky.

The world flooded into Cadence's consciousness in parts. First was the whispers in the breeze, then the metallic sent of scraped mental and the perpetual burning of, well, burning. Finally, she felt the bundle of fuzziness in her arms, small and frail and impossibly fluffy. Cadence's eyes fluttered beneath her eyelids - today seemed to be the day for being knocked out - and she tried to move her limbs but found that they were trapped.

"Ngh..." she groaned, looking down at the bundle in her arms. Ah, she must've grabbed him when she felt the capsules tremble. As much as Meir terrified her, he was still a fellow hybrid and a child at that. The moment she'd noticed something was wrong, she'd dived for him and wrapped him in her arms, curling her body into a tight ball with him in the centre so her body could act as a shield. Lions were stronger than rats, last she'd checked. Speaking of rats...

She was holding one in her arms.

She screamed, her voice impossibly high as she struggled to release him but her limbs refused to budge. She glanced around without moving her head and realised they were trapped under the weight of large slabs of metal and industrial glass. She realised then she'd been squishing Meir to her chest for dear life and quickly relaxed her arms to avoid crushing him.

Him? It. Don't let those big green eyes fool you, Cadence Rose.

"We need to get out of here," she muttered, more to comfort herself with her own voice than anything else. "Watch out," she warned before 7 inch claws lengthened from her deceivingly delicate fingers, replacing her previously manicured fingernails. She jerked her wrists sides and her claws ripped through the metal with a deafening, horrible screech. She thrust her limbs about and gasped. She saw then her ankle was caught between the ground and a heavy slab of machinery. It must've been stuck there for quite some time or was seriously injured, because she couldn't even feel it.

Cadence tucked her claws between the narrow gaps and hauled the slab up and off her ankle, wincing at the sight of her dented bone and flesh, purple, red and raw. After much too long, she eventually tossed all the large walls of metal and glass aside.

She looked around, confusion twisting her features. The sky loomed overhead and she blinked, shocked, at the golden globe that hung among the clouds. She hadn't seen sunlight in... Well, ever. All her missions were during the night, for stealth and because her superior night vision gave her the upper hand. She narrowed her eyes, darting her gaze upwards to stare directly at the sun.

"Eep!" she yelped, her head whipping away and her arms lifting to hide her face. That hurt.

She remembered Meir then and looked down to glare at him.

"Okay, you can go now," she told him. "Shoo. Tweet tweet. Quack quack. Woof?" She didn't know what rodents spoke.

Candence pushed up onto her feet and gasped, crumbling back onto the floor. Her ankle was quickly swelling, the crooked bone visible beneath the ripped flesh. She had to set it back in place before it healed the wrong way and she had to get up and help everyone. She couldn't set her bones back in place on her own, though, not without possibly screwing it up entirely and breaking her whole leg. She underestimated her own strength sometimes.

"I don't suppose you know how to reset broken bones, huh?" she asked Meir absently, not quite expecting an answer as she looked at him. So far he seemed pretty quiet. She looked around at the other hybrids around her. One of them would be able to. Meanwhile...

"Mind over matter, Cadence," she told herself, her lip bleeding with the force of her teeth sinking into it as she clenched her entire body, struggling to get up. "Come on, Cadence. Don't be a puss," she scolded herself, struggling to get on her feet whilst looking for people who could use a hand and someone who could break her bones back into place.

Kuma

A small brown nose twitching at the odd smell of blood that came with the sound of breaking glass, some of which fell lightly onto Kuma’s body. Those sensations were soon accompanied by the voice of fellow trying to wake her, something Kuma disliked very much, he sounded tired but obviously going for cheerful and it annoyed the young woman to no end that such a person would purposely wake her up from her sleep.

And so began Kumas and her way of greeting those who would dare wake up a sleeping bear. Tensing of the muscles was all Belphegor would have as an indication of what was to happen next. And before he could move out the way or to even comprehend what he had done, Kuma was already on his case about it. With a loud roar Kuma got up and slashed at the poor fellow with all her might thankfully he got out of reach just in time. Instead of her claws ripping through soft flesh and hard bone, they screeched against the metal walls that reverberated throughout the capsule and left holes in the metal.

Such a sound hurt the ears of those closest to Kuma but it was better than leaving a blooding mess on the ground. Kuma gritted her teeth and let huff; standing upright she began to break the rest of the glass and pulled herself out. She jumped down from the top of her capsule towering over Belphegor. She reached down and grabbed him by the throat bringing him close to her. “Try that again and next time I won’t miss tearing out your throat” her eyes flashed menacingly as proof she was not joking.

Kuma then threw him aside when a wave of nausea passed through her. “urgh, damn capsule” baring her teeth Kuma knew she probably had a concussion but there was little she could do about it other than to take things slow, something she was good at being one of the more lazier hybrids SAPH had on hand. After the nausea passed Kuma looked around counting 13 other capsules and one of them was bound to be her sisters knowing her, SAPH would have most definitely wanted her dead. Something of a smile came about but it hurt just to do so and Kuma realized why. Before they had placed her in that room the retrieval team had beaten her until they were satisfied so most of her body was bruised thankfully her face wasn’t too badly hurt or it would have been ugly.

Growling at what they did Kuma decided it was high time to figure out who was here but she wasn’t about to go and look inside capsules but she did take account of those who had left them themselves. 7 hybrids were already up and about but the youngest of them all hadn’t moved from where he had been placed. what’s a child doing here unless he’s some kind of monstrous beast then SAPH had no reason to end his life so early. frowning Kuma noticed her sister sitting by her capsule and nodded in her way before she began her brief walk towards the kid.

Kuma passed by a girl about her own age who seemed to be struggling to get up. Stopping short of her goal, Kuma grabbed the girl by the arm and pulled her up with ease almost like a rag doll. “You’re not a very smart cat are you? You realize you’ll only hurt yourself more by trying to stand up with that ankle of yours.” Kuma’s words were blunt and held truth to it however Cadence wouldn’t be feeling pain at the moment considering she was being held a few inches off the ground. Realizing she still held onto the girls arm Kuma pretty much dropped her but made sure the girl had enough time to focus on one foot.

The remains of black tipped tail caught her eye but Kuma didn’t bother turning around to acknowledge her sister. “Amur keep your tail to yourself it always gives you away. Oh and do be a dear and don’t even think about bothering the lion girl, there’s no satisfaction in taking down a wounded opponent.” “What! I can’t help it dammit! It’s not my fault my tail is slower than the rest of my body. Besides had I yanked out of view you would have noticed it anyway. And I won’t be a dear because I wasn’t going to bother the dumbass anyway.”

Kuma looked over her shoulder at her sister blue eyes locked in a fight for dominance with glowing gold ones. Of course Amur was the first to look away, not even she would bother getting on her sisters bad side so quick after she had woken up. Frowning Amur walked away but glared at Cadence even if the lioness didn’t remember her Amur sure as hell did and the same went for Kuma. Both had reason to dislike Cadence but those reasons were what set them apart. Amur simply because she wouldn’t remember her name and Kuma because the girl was nothing more than an annoyance that often ended with her getting her ass handed to her.

Shaking her head Kuma finally reached her goal, this goal was of course Meir. Being of a motherly nature at time Kuma was always concerned for the little ones and even now she still was. Crouching down besides the boy Kuma smiled kindly and offered the cute hybrid a hand. “Now do tell me little one, what’s one such as yourself doing with little miss sourpuss over there? She didn’t hurt you did she if so I wouldn’t mind tearing her to pieces if it made you feel any better.” The smile she had and the words she used sent chills down Amur’s spine, knowing her sister she would undoubtedly tear Cadence to pieces if the kid asked for it. But then again everyone has changed drastically so Kuma might actually have a fight on her hands for once. Amur sighed and watched the other hybrids wake up, she was in no mood to interact with the others or to even bother seeing how that one guy Kuma had dealt with earlier was doing.

That’s a new one
Everett thought to himself when he heard Cadence squeal in terror from being in the presence of the little mouse hybrid. His eyes locked with hers for just a moment, allowing Everett to dwell deep into her soul. All he saw was fear. For a short amount of time, Everett actually felt bad for the fellow hybrid. Then she had to insult him, and screw that up. I am not a thing, you little- Everett’s angry thoughts were interrupted when he saw the look Cadence was giving Donovan. A sudden
feeling rose in Everett’s chest. His golden eyes darted from Donovan then Cadence. Donovan then Cadence. Donovan. Cadence. Donovan. Cadence. Their little encoded conversation popped back up in his head. With a light snarl, Everett turned and walked to the back of his capsule and leaned his back against the wall. He watched as the guards dragged Cadence and Meir into a cell together.

Everett let out a slow, slightly shaky breath. “My mind is muddled. I need fresh air
I cannot think
straight
” He sighed. A quiet, muffled sound made his ears perk up.

“-I mean look at it. Its talking to itself.” A deep throated growl came from deep within Everett. Both scientists’ heads whipped up to look at him with startled expressions. When Everett saw their looks, he let out a chuckle.

“I can hear youuuu
” Everett snickered and pointed to his fuzzy ears. They both sent a nice little glare in his direction, and then turned back to talking.

Everett was pacing in his cell, humming one of the few songs he knew, when the sirens went off. As soon as the piercing sound pulsed through the air, Everett let out a small yelp in pain. The intensity of the sound hurt his sensitive ears, and brought back bad memories. Before he had time to adjust to the loud sounds, they were gone. But what took its place was far worse.

Everett was in a free fall. Well
sorta. He was still in his cell, but he was hurtling toward the earth, very fast. For a moment, he was perfectly calm. The silence was bliss compared to the sirens. But Everett wasn’t calm for very long. Though he would never admit it, he screamed. His scream wasn’t shrill, it was just
a scream. One full of fear of dying. Out of instinct, he curled up in a ball, wrapping his arms around his head and pressing his knees to his chest. He was still yelling in that position.

A blinding light was the first thing to greet Everett in his waking. The second was pain. With a gasp, Everett’s eyes snapped open and he sat up abruptly, which sent pain arcing down his left side. He had landed on his side, and with some inspection of his oddly positioned shoulder, Everett noticed he had dislocated his shoulder blade. Muttering all of the curse words in his dictionary, the hybrid dragged himself to his feet, trying not to strain his left shoulder. He would either need to ask someone to help, or find a way to do it himself.
“ Perhaps surveying my surrounding is a
better idea.“ Everett grumbled, looking around, his left arm hanging limply at his side. His eyes widened. He thought the drop surely would have destroyed the capsule. His little pod had landed perfectly on its side, only causing the corner to dent inwards. None of the walls were broken, but the glass had hundreds of huge splintering cracks, so he could break through it. Hopefully.

Everett stepped as far back as he could, pressing his heel to the back of his heel to the wall. “One and a two and a three!“ He muttered, and darted forwards. He tucked his head in and aimed his right shoulder at the glass, as to burst through. A loud shattering sound echoed throughout the air as he slammed into the glass, breaking through. With a heavy thump and a huff as the breath seemed to leave his lungs, Everett landed on his side.

“Geez
“ He moaned, sitting up. He flinched, feeling his shoulder throb painfully. He had even more cuts now thanks to that little stunt. “Stop being a wuss, Everett. There are women and children to take care of!“ He snickered, joking to himself, knowing that all of the girls here could most likely take care of themselves. Grunting, Everett once again pulled himself together and got back onto his feet. Without a second thought, he shook his body like a, well, dog, and sending glass shards everywhere. There was another splintering pain in his shoulder, which made him wince.

Looking around, he saw a not-very-entertained Kuma yanking a not-very-happy Cadence to her feet. His eyes seemed to harden as he saw the way Kuma was treating Cadence. He thought about walking over, then stopped himself, then took a step forward, then stopped, then started walking over. He could see there was something was wrong with her. She was hurt.

“Hey Cadence
umm
are you ok?“ He asked, rather awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck with his right hand. His left arm still hung limply. Everett subconsciously looked her over for injuries, then stopped at her ankle. “Wow
that looks like it bites
“ He said, feeling stupid that he hadn’t noticed it before. A little idea popped in his head. “Wait, give me a second, I’ll be right back. “ He said, turning and jogging off, back towards his capsule. He crawled through the broken window, cutting his hand, but he barely noticed. He went up to the little bed, and gripped the mattress with his good hand and tore it off. Everett hung it over his good shoulder and walked back to Cadence.

“Here.” He dropped it by her. “We can rip this up to make bandages.“ Everett said to Cadence, hoping his idea was a good one. “If you pop my shoulder back into place, I can help you set that ankle of yours.“ He offered.

“You’re not a very smart cat are you?"

Cat...?

Did she just- ripples of fury raged up her spine -call me a cat?

She felt a nerve in her forehead twitch, but she kept her smile plastered to her face. You abnormally large punk. "Mmm, it's one of the world's many mysteries, albino."

"You realize you’ll only hurt yourself more by trying to stand up with that ankle of yours.”

Cadence struggled not to scream when the Hybrid hauled her to her feet and the burden of her weight fell onto her left ankle. Her teeth penetrated her lower lip as her vision became an exploding symphony of red. She glared at the towering woman beside her and snapped her fallen jaw closed.

Bear-bear?

No one else had hair made of snow and had the perpetual expression of Grim Reaper with a machete. Well, no, that wasn't true. There was Kuma's sister... What was her name?

Cadence snatched her arm away, barely registering the bumps and cuts oozing red. She shuffled all her weight onto her right leg,

"Women are Earth's gifts. Little babies pop out of them going peep peep peep. You really should treat them more carefully. You wouldn't want to hurt my ovaries and be responsible for the extinction of aesthetically pleasing hybrids," Cadence warned with a smile.

“Hey Cadence
umm
are you ok?“

The slow creek of her neck swivelling around to grin and glare at the German Shepherd Hybrid was nearly audible.

"What is it, Rudolph? Did the broken bones sticking out of my flesh give me away?"

“Wow
that looks like it bites
“ he continued. Like what I'm going to do to you if you don't stop pitying me, she thought menacingly while another part of her mind hissed, just smile and nod, Cadence. Just smile and nod.

“Wait, give me a second, I’ll be right back. “

"Take your time!" she called, meaning every word of it.

“Here.” The bundle thumped onto the ground beside her.

“We can rip this up to make bandages," he said, his voice betraying nothing but concern and kindness, thereby meaning he had an ulterior motive and soon she would find herself chained in a basement, a reluctant participant in his creepy BDSM games. If he thought she was going to fall for his deceiving acts of generosity and according to many other female Hybrids and scientists alike, his "warm and loving gold eyes. Unlike your murderous and deceiving ones that make me wet my pants, Candy!"

Warm and loving, my ass.

“If you pop my shoulder back into place, I can help you set that ankle of yours.“

She watched him, the way his soft brown hair fell over his eyes, almost urging you to tuck the loose strings behind his ear. The muscles in his back and arms rippled with strength with every movement, every twitch of his finger. She scanned his straight teeth, so white they were blinding and she might've stretched out an arm to shield some of his mighty glory had she been a weak human girl. But she knew that behind his cheeky and genuine smiles, was a sly, sleazy dog.

Cadence eyed him wearily and urged him down onto the floor with her body instead of words. She did need someone to snap her bones back to, you know, beneath her flesh, and she in no way trusted him but she trusted Kuma's strength even less. She just wished she could find Donovan. Meanwhile, she sat in front of Everett and proceeded to distract him, for she was a kind lioness who cared for the wellbeing of her people, even if they were dickheads.

"Remember when we were children," she began, pressing the heel of her palm against his collarbone. "And you stole my innocence by leaping at my innocent breasts and clamping your paws over them?" The muscles in his arm were firm beneath her hand. "Thunder struck and the Lord of the Rings music raged from horrified speak-" She thrust his shoulder into place. "-ers as you laughed menacingly at your innocent victim." Her narrowed gold and ruby eyes blazed with his own. "And proceeded to tell her she was as flat as a board."

Cadence took her right breast in her hand, now very much filled out. "This is Angel." She took her left. "This is Danger. You may address them accordingly." She knew he must've been jealous of her chest and regretful of his past actions.

"Your turn," she said, stretching her slim leg onto his lap.

Donovan spotted a few familiar faces. Cadence, Everett, and Kuma so he went over to them. "Hey, you guys okay?" He kept his wings curled tightly against his back, not exactly trying to hide the cuts on them. If asked he would show them. But not exactly wanting them to worry either. So for now against his spine was where they would stay. He looked over the three of them for any injuries, Kuma didn't have any visible ones, but that didn't mean she wasn't hurt. Same for Everett. Cadence's ankle was obviously broken and from they way it sat in Everett's lap he guessed the dog hybrid was just about to set it. "Can I do anything to help?" There was obvious concern in his voice, not just for Cadence but all three of them. If there was anything he could do to help, he'd do it.

Ah dearest Cadence, you are as snippy as ever
Everett thought silently to himself as he listened to her responses. He was glad the she agreed to help him. Everett lowered himself down to where she sat.

"Remember when we were children," Everett held back from rolling his eyes. He could tell she was trying to comfort him. "And you stole my innocence by leaping at my innocent breasts and clamping your paws over them?" Everett snickered. He remembered that. One of her hands was on his collarbone and the other on his shoulder. "Thunder struck and the Lord of the Rings music raged from horrified speak-" A horrid popping sound could be heard and a burst of pain exploded in his shoulder. He gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. "-ers as you laughed menacingly at your innocent victim." Her golden eyes locked with his. "And proceeded to tell her she was as flat as a board."

Everett opened his mouth as if to speak, but she cut him off by holding up her right breast. "This is Angel." She lifted up her left. "This is Danger. You may address them accordingly.” Everett did his best not to stare, but he couldn’t help it. She was drawing his eyes to that part of her body, so he couldn’t help but look. A light blush arose on his cheeks and he glanced down again.

"Your turn," She placed her foot on Everett’s lap.

“Hold on a second sweetheart. I need to grab some stuff first.” Everett shifted her foot off of him gently and got up to go grab some stuff. First, he stood up and looked around. His gaze settled on a few hunks of scrap metal that would suit his cause nicely. He jogged over, ignoring his bleeding hand and throbbing shoulder. The two pieces of metal were not too long and not too thick. He bent over and grabbed them, wincing as it rubbed against the cut on his hand. He gritted his teeth and picked them up and made his way back to Cadence.

“We’re going to need to make you a splint. I can’t just set the bone and leave it like... this.” He snickered, gesturing to the ankle. Everett walked up to the tattered mattress and attempted to tear a nice strip off. His fingers couldn’t break through the rough fabric. He glanced around for a moment, and then clamped down on the corner of the mattress and yanked upwards, tearing a nice piece of fabric off using his teeth. Deciding it was large enough; he nodded, and walked back to Cadence.

“I think this stuff should suffice.” Everett muttered to her.

"Hey, you guys okay? Can I do anything to help?” Everett glanced up at Donovan. The sight of him put Everett in a bad mood.

“I think we’re fine here. But I presume Cadence will want you to stay. I don’t really care which she chooses.” Everett said, not even casting a glance at Donovan. He did want him to leave, but if it made Cadence feel better, it was fine by him.

“Here. You might want to bite down on this.” Everett reached over and grabbed a nice rod of metal then handed it to Cadence. “I’m not going to baby you, telling you it will only hurt for a second. But this is going to feel like Satan himself is trying to set your ankle
That’s probably what your actually thinking right now
” Everett sighed, examining the broken bone gently. “I could say a lot of things about what happened that day, Cadence.” His hand travelled up her leg slightly and grabbed her calf, keeping her from possibly kicking him in a place a man shouldn’t be kicked. “I guess this is kind of late, but-“ His hand worked to twist her ankle, creating a sickening snapping sound as the bones shifted, grinded and snapped back into place. “I apologize for my inexcusable actions.” Everett took the two pieces of metal and lined them up on the sides of her ankle, took the makeshift bandages and wrapped them tightly around the metal pieces. “And I hope that you can find it in your heart to forgive me for what I did
”
