{Appearance}
Tails stands at around 5'9'', and will probably never get any taller than that. He has a thin, lean build, like a runner who only half-assedly maintains his fitness, with long arms and legs. His white skin with a slight tan is complimented by (Or clashes horribly with, if it's you opinion) his yellow orange hair, that he insists is completely natural. His hair is cut mildly short and shaggy, but is a little longer in the front. His face is softly defined and clear, with rather startling, bright blue eyes. Although his clothes do change, when he is on the job he can normally be seen wearing his customary orange jacket and pants. He normally wore the jacket open, with a white shirt underneath, and the pants were high enough to show off a bit of leg. He's rather partial to one style of shoe, and tends to get a larger pair of the same when his old ones get too small or damaged.
{Personality}
Before you can understand Tails's personality, you have to understand a bit about his life. He has a reputation down in the streets of Chicago (and quite a few other cities in the U.S) as a wicked inventor. That's what Tails did for a hobby, and what he wanted to do with his life when he grew up. He would take any parts he could get his hands on and make any random or weird contraption that he could think of with them. He'd made all kinds of personal security devices and improved versions of popular toys and gadgets, and had made a killing off of selling them to the street market. That's where he'd gotten his handle, 'Tails'. It had just been something random on one of his pieces, but after that, he'd engraved two fox tails on everything he made. You could tell it was truly a Tails-original that way. People had taken that symbol and made it his street name, and happily started using it.
Now that you know that, you can understand that Tails is a bit prideful. He's not arrogant to the point where it is annoying, rather, he knows that he is smart, and takes a certain comfort in it. He tends to be a bit boastful about how great his inventions are, and will happily tell anyone who wants to know about his latest and greatest. Coupled with that, Tails is a bit immature. He's just one of those kids that never really grow up, and always have a childish spirit inside them. This childish behavior is fueled by his personal dream, which has motivated him to continue tinkering over the years. He has a dream of being able to fly. Not just on an airplane or with a jetpack, but being capable of individual flight, like a bird. Perhaps it is because of such lofty goals, but Tails is always whimsical and light-hearted, and it takes a lot to truly upset him.
