Saoirse was the name of this body, mascara streaks down her face from where she had been crying. Raising her head, Saoirse glanced bemusedly around, cussing as a severe pain hit her head. Swallowing, she struggled to her feet, grabbing hold onto a lamppost to keep her balance.
Blinking twice, her vision unclear and blurred, she bit her lower lip as she recalled the night before, her stomach turning as she remembered the face of the man that had left her half dead on the ground. The twinge in her chest as he abused her horrendously and violently attacked her before leaving without a second word.
Saoirse closed her eyes and a tear formed, but she brushed it away as quickly as it came, she limped out of the alleyway and onto the streets, staring into space through confusion and anger, she dug her nails into her arm, blood trickling down her wrist and across a faded white scar.
Wincing she sighed deeply and slid down the wall of an old, secluded house, placing her hands over her face as she began to weep, a sound so pained and rueful, that it was heard for miles as it echoed seemingly across the streets and forests.
