Personality
Gretchen is still a little girl at heart, even after all this time. She loves people and fluffy things and cute little kids. She loves to have fun and can't stand it when anyone is upset. When people are upset, her demeanour becomes jovial and she cracks jokes at every chance. When people are happy, she plays along, no matter how scared or upset she really is. Gretchen is especially like this around adults. She acts even younger than usual in a desperate attempt to prove to herself that some adult loves her. And around pretty boys and beautiful girls, she jokes more than usual. She just wants them to think that she's funny. To most, her innocence and light-hearted attitude is refreshing; a welcome interruption from the cruel world that we live in. But only those who know her know that she harbors a darker personality behind the wide eyes and pretty face.

Personality
Hans is quite frankly a jerk. He is Gretchen's opposite. Not only does he hate almost everyone, but he makes it very clear that he does. He treats his elders with the utmost disrespect (the word "hag" is one of his favourites), women with contempt, and he will verbally and physically abuse anyone who he perceives as a threat. It frustrates him greatly that he is trapped in a female body yet he uses it to his advantage. If he is touched by an adult he will hurt them. He will use his nails to gouge out their eyes or bite them until he draws blood. His only good trait is the fact that he cares about his sister (and other small children who can't protect themselves)to almost a fault. He protects her and helps her out of stressful situations. And she is the only one who he won't tell about that day in the woods.

Fairytale
We trusted our father. That was our first mistake. We should have began to doubt him when she began hitting Ettie and he wouldn't listen to her. I should have warned her when they abandoned us in the woods. But no, I helped her find her way back. Then they abandoned us again. Father said that he would love us forever; that they would keep us safe from harm. Yet, when the money ran low and the food supply began to dwindle, he left us behind. And this time, I failed to help Ettie find her way back. Really, it was my fault that she went into that house. I mean, a house made of candy! How could that go wrong? But that old witch inside made us do bad things. She made us murder people and make them into pies and roasts. And she tried to eat both of us after feeding us the people who we had killed. Luckily, I tricked her. Luckily I killed her.
When the police found us, Ettie didn't remember a thing. I hid for a while and Ettie found us a nice home. But I just had to screw that up and attack out new grandma... And now we're here. At least here they understand to keep Ettie away from people who I don't like.
